« Lovely Hotel offering very good accommodation for business or pleasure »

We spent a week at the Hotel and found it to be a very pleasurable experience. The majority of the facilities we used were all very good. The location: Views of the Mosque a bonus and the area is quiet. Beach: Small private beach has plenty of sunbeds available and the towels provided were all nice and clean. Free iced water available was appreciated in 30 degree heat while we were there. Shuttle: The free shuttle service was much appreciated and we managed to use this service on all except 1 occasion. Food: Stayed half board so used the cuiscene restuarant for breakfast and evening meal. Good choice at both sittings although quite a lot of repetitive dishes. No seperate vegetables available for main meals unless included within the dish itself. Staff: All attentative to questions and polite and friendly Our stay was not without some problems and for a 5* hotel was felt should not have happened. Will contact the hotel direct to address these for future guests.

« Disappointing stay, hotel and rooms scruffy »

I had a disappointing stay at the Fairmont Bab al Bahr. The hotel looks a bit scruffy in the common areas, stained carpets leading to the restaurant, substandard breakfast and poor rooms. I had to change rooms during my stay as the bathroom had stains on the ceiling and was generally of poor standard. The replacement room was not much better. Not a 5 Star experience. I would not stay at this hotel again in the future.

Excellent checkin and checkout procedure with good information about half board tariff. Spacious rooms close together (as requested). Plenty of choice for dining, and good service. Impressed by concierge staff who advised on location and booking of birthday meal outside hotel. Friendly beach/pool staff and ample supply of water. Overall a very pleasant stay. Very impressed when hotel promptly responded to error on hotel bill, noticed on arrival home, and processed refund.

« Average experience- improvement necessary »

I stayed with you after having stayed 7 nights at the Raffles Dubai, the experience is that of day and night. Staff at Raffles are proactive and extremely professional, the hotel was clean overall, the Fairmont would be a very good hotel if the staff are more proactive and the range of available food options made better. Acomodation was average and the lighting in the rooms were inadequate. It could also do with some technology upgrade such as having simple USB charging points etc. The beaches were overrun by people who went and hoarded theseats feom morning till evening (often going for breakfast, lunch and dinner with their towels and bags left on seats to hold them)

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, extending over four nights, in the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr. The level of service was exceptional from all the staff members we encountered, particularly from Jennifer and Suraj in the Gold Lounge. My one small reservation centred around a number of hotel guests not adhering to the 'smart casual' dress code at the time of the 'happy hour' during some evenings. This policy would need to be reinforced more stringently when hotel guests are content to arrive in the lounge, as was witnessed on more than one occasion, having made no effort to change out of beach shorts and sleeveless t-shirts. Likewise, the relative peace of the lounge was disrupted at different times by children making considerable noise, some being given the freedom to run around at will by less than responsible and considerate parents. A separate seating area for families might be a suggestion for the hotel to consider, to allow other guests a more relaxed and peaceful atmosphere in the evenings.

Stayed here for 2 weeks on business and the service was superb! All staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms were luxurious and well appointed other than perhaps the absence of a decent overhead light in the room. Pool and gym were very good and beach was kept spotlessly clean. Very large functions in the conference facilities (which are expansive) do cause problems for non-resident attendees parking and getting into the venue.

« Fairly satisfied not as satisfied as previous visits »

The hotel is in need of refurbishment particularly the pool and beach areas and equipments. The club room facilities were over booked and under staffed as it was difficult to get a seat or drink if you arrived after 6.00pm, this was the situation throughout our stay. However we must say that all of the staff were wonderfully courteous and helpful, first clas.

« Lovely staff made our stay wonderful, but details could improve. »

The staff on Gold 7th floor were all lovely and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. But the Gold area was overcrowded and some people took food away and others used it for a meal rather than a snack. Also the dress code was not enforced. It should be more exclusive. Families with children under 10 should be handled elsewhere in busy periods. The pool area and grounds gave plenty of space and the facilities were excellent. But there were not enough sun beds to support the number of guests. All the restaurants gave excellent food and service. We particularly liked the Sushi Cafe. The buffet was OK rather than excellent. The choices available seemed a haphazard mix rather than some themes. The food was well cooked and tasty.
