From our arrival until departure we were welcomed so warmly and respectfully by every member of staff at every level, and area, at this beautiful hotel. The sincere care, help and friendship we constantly received was just overwhelming! Our trip was all the more special due to the truly wonderful, hardworking, happy and amazing staff! We enjoyed the lovely selection of foods offered at breakfast, which were beautifully presented, and the gorgeous swimming pool and Jacuzzi that was so nice and warm to step in to. The gym facilities were excellent ... although the choice of music being played was not to my taste. Our room was kept spotlessky clean by our Housekeeper, with a fantastic view of the Grand Mosque. It was large and extremely comfortable. Our housekeeper very kindly brought semi skimmed milk to our room because we were not keen on the milk that is always provided.

« Good but started off very poorly. »

I have frequented the Fairmont numerous times previously for dinner, brunch etc but have never stayed overnight. It was our 10th wedding anniversary so we decided to indulge and spend the night at the hotel, taking dinner and having a beach / pool day on the Friday. We checked in around 1500, and were given room 649. We proceeded to room and entered via the key card but immediately found out the room was already taken!! We were annoyed and returned back to the check in area. Enroute to the lift area our luggage was heading in the opposite direction, I asked the porter where he was heading and he stated 629? The check in guys were apologetic, I understand mistakes happen. It would have been a bigger problem if people were in the room, thankfully they weren't. Not a great start to our anniversary celebrations. We had dinner in Frankies. As always It was great food, great service. Nathan the musician was spectacular, he also chatted to us in the breakfast area, great follow up service. Beach and pool area - Pool was clean, wait staff were quick and efficient, beach service was prompt, food was good.

« Disappointing Service »

Being an individual that has traverse across the world especially the Asian continent and the notion of coming to Abu Dhabi and being accommodated in the Fairmont brought a little relief to the thought that I would be spending 40 days from 25 December till 2 February away from home. My experiences in other international hotel establishments especially the Fairmont in other countries brought fond memories however unfortunately my expectations in this hotel were not quite met in most areas especially service which is very disappointing to note. The staff were clearly not motivated enough to provide the high standard of service and there was a hint of lackadaisical attitude or perhaps even a racial undertone to their approach (by a handful), which I've carefully noticed in my 40 days there. Necessary messages were not effectively communicated causing misunderstanding and irritation to the part of the guest. I hope that your establishment tries in calculate into the staff a more approachable, flexible and guest friendly attitude towards carrying out their duties rather than being rigid and overly business oriented also to look into the details like ensuring that rooms are clean appropriately not haphazardly.

Unfortunately you took a booking for a wedding one of the nights I was staying. The wedding was outside with extremely loud music - in fact the music was so loud that I could not even hear the TV in my room. While the reception staff were helpful and gave me another room to sleep in, this showed a real disregard for your staying guests, that you expect them to put up with this level of noise. It's very disappointing that I was not told about the wedding and the noise when I checked in.

« Great stat at a great hotel »

Fairmont has only recently been integrated into the Accor family of hotels. Fairmont has been an exclusive brand in Canada and US and is branching out to new destinations with the same attention to detail and service. It took a little time to get the check in clerk to acknowledge our Accor membership. However we were upgraded after 1 night and even then with persistence and insistence on our part. The upgrade was great with great views of the Creek and the Grand Mosque. Access to the Gold Lounge was great with good food and great service. The staff at the lounge we’re great and obliging. We made use of the free shuttle but the shuttles are only one way and you have to find your own way back to the hotel. As Abu Dhabi is a huge city taxis can be and are expensive. Nevertheless we were happy to have stayed there.

Have just returned from our second visit to your hotel. We had a great room with the view of The Mosque and the water. The room was so good with comfortable beds.The restaurant as before has a great variety of food. The best feature of the hotel is the staff.They go ‘the extra mile’ to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. Many of them remembered us from last year.We can’t wait to return next January.

Michael (Consierge) was really the most wonderful person solving every issue or answering every question we had. Wonderful person, beautiful service. Also Josuha (Trainee in the Restaurant) was one of the most friendly and warm people we met. His service was excellent. In general, the Hotels pool was fantastic. Great service all over. We missed the SPA but that was something we forgot to check prior to looking at the Hotel. Apart of that, wonderful stay, super service and amazing food.

Nice overall experience right from checking in, to the room comforts (appreciate Mr. Bishal to ring in for any evening turnaround although not needed), until checkout. Only suggestion for little improvements are 1) beds are now sagging - may need some attention 2) sometimes very limited option on veg dishes - menu may be carefully optimized. All the very Best.
