« The missus absolutely loved it!!! »

For this recent trip, my wife finally got to join me in Phnom Penh for a few days, just before we drove to Siem Reap. She absolutely fell in love with Raffles the moment she arrived at the doorstep! From the lobby, to the room and its amenities, all the way to its breakfast fare and the colonial hotel's massive buildings -- everything to her was lovely. I agree, too!

As a person that's detail oriented I appreciated my stay. The attentiveness of the staff is great. Sopheap made my stay truly outstanding. His authentic concern for my needs and desire to please is to be commended. I myself work in the hospitality industry and am quick to pick up on insincerity, none of which existed with Sopheap. He went above and beyond when he found out I was celebrating my birthday. My room upon arrival was very nice but things had been overlooked. To me details can make or break a fine hotel. The items overlooked by the housekeeping staff are common but should not happen at an establishment such as Raffles. The carpet on the right side of the bed was not under the leg of the night stand but leaning against it. Someone caught it the second day. A few surfaces needed a dusting. In all the room was an 9 out of 10. Breakfast buffet was outstanding. Service staffs need to be more attentive as I always had to hunt someone down for a coffee refill. Of special note was a lady that cooked my eggs. She's a short lady with a wonderful smile. I'd asked for my eggs over medium which were done correctly. Once I'd received my egg I went on the hunt for some toast. As I was wandering around for toast the same lady that cooked by eggs presented me with a dish of toasted bread. It's as if she'd read my mind. It the end of my breakfast I tips her $5.00 cash which she appeared to appreciate. All in all my stay was a 9.5 out of 10. I'm already planning my return. The only item that always bothered me was the exit and entrance. In the hospitality industry you only get 1 change to make a great 1st impression. The entrance and exit of the hotel are lacking in my opinion. The entrance and exit don't live up the the standard of the rest of the property. Not sure what they need. Almost forgot, the pool staff are very good. Sitting at the pool for a few hours I could quickly identify those passionate about the job. Looking forward to my next stay. Thanks!!!

The rooms were well kept and always freshened up. The coffee machine in the room was an added touch that allowed me to have my morning expresso before breakfast. The staff were always courteous and available. Staff would be calling us by name which was impressive given the amount of people there were staying there. The welcome drink was a special touch to welcoming guests to the hotel. The checking in process was very pleasant and warming. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Cambodia. It is at the centre of all places. The tuktuk at the front were available at anytime to explore the island.

Loved the getting at the front door by the GM Olivier. Loved the spacious room and the balcony facing the pool though the accessories could be better. Loved the special touches such as suntan lotion at the pool and the Moet for breakfast. Loved the care and cleanliness e.g the gorgeous corridor leading to my room. Disappointed with the shops... Not classy enough. Like to are an art gallery n antique store. Was neglected in the bar so left without a drink.

Very pleasant overall - felt more than pampered. Bed and pillows perfect for relaxation, room supplies plentiful including a spacious work desk! High ceiling fan a plus! No need for Air conditioning actually but still available. Hotel interior in 7 star condition!
