« Treated like royalty »

It was a very special trip for us to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday and the Raffles made sure to make her feel like a Queen. Honoring her was the best treatment any establishment could give. I will always remember our wonderful time there. This was a bucket list item for my mother and they definitely lived up to our big expectations.

« Lovely room and pool setting, but elevator was a problem. »

Our overall 3 day stay was quite nice, including a fine dinner at the restaurant. Staff was pleasant to deal with and helpful. The operation of the elevator was a problem, as we were on the top floor and it was impossible at times to call the elevator up. We very much enjoyed the breakfasts, again with good service. My wife complained that she was almost scalded in the shower when the temperature suddenly spiked.

This was five star service at its very best from the friendly driver who collected us at the airport, the very courteous doorman who greeted us so warmly and the kind welcome we received from the check in lady. We loved the elephant bar and it’s wide selection of drinks, however, the restaurants were fantastic with delicious food at breakfast and dinner and outstanding table service. Our poolside suite was exceptionally clean which added to an overall wonderful experience We will be back !

Like many, my visit to Siem Reap was in order to visit the ruins of the Angkor temple complex. I am so happy that I chose the Raffles Grand Hotel D'Angkor rather. Unlike some of its competition, the Raffles Hotel exudes an atmosphere that takes one back to the early 20th century. It is classic in every way. It's staff is exceedingly well-trained and every team member is focused on providing superior hospitality services. I enjoyed my days by the pool and slept like a baby in the comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was delicious every morning and I especially enjoyed the good cheer and thoughtfulness of the lovely lady who made my eggs-to-order each morning (I'm sorry that I do not know here name!, but she is also the lady whose task it is to make the yogurt for the hotel). Without question the best choice in Siem Reap: a great hotel with a lot of authentic atmosphere! It was so nice to stay in a hotel that reminds you at every corner that you are actually in a distinct city, in a distinct country in a distinct part of the world---the Raffles luckily does not try to be a cookie cutter hotel! Thumbs up!

The hotel has a nice historical charm. The staff is very nice, however, their English is often very poor that is unacceptable in such a famous hotel. The email communication takes ages and always incomplete regarding replies. We ordered airport transfer through the hotel including a child seat and that was confirned but not delivered. The furniture is very old and badly maintained, creaking old king beds will never satisfy your customers. The pillows and quilts have old goose feather that smell extremely bad. Breakfasts are perfect, however and so the pool and leisure activities.

Dear Lisa, I am grateful that you have been taking the time to write me a note with such detailed information regarding your stay. I would like to present you my most sincere apologies for the shortfalls you experienced. Upon your departure, I have gathered our department heads to investigate the issues you highlighted. Pertaining to the poor English level of our employees, you are certainly referring to the incident which took place on the 21st of October when you ordered three Lobster Amok dishes and only one dish was delivered due to our waiter’s mistake. It is unacceptable as the individual did not follow our service standard and should have simply repeated the order. I hope you appreciated our service recovery by offering you the other two dishes at no charge. I am very sorry as it should not have happened in the first place and we will coach and train further our waiters. Concerning the child seat, I would like to apologize as our concierge missed it. I have reviewed the email exchange and once again we failed to deliver the service you requested. Please note that it is unfortunately not a common practice to offer car seats for babies in Cambodia, however Raffles Hotels should be able to offer it. We are currently sourcing these products and we will soon be able to offer it to our guests. In regards to the bed creaking and the old furniture, I would like to share with you that Raffles Siem Reap will be undertaking a restoration next year, from May 1st till Sept 30th 2019. We will include your comments in our restoration plan and hopefully alleviate such comments. Regarding the smell of the pillows, we will investigate further as our linen, mattresses and pillows are new, bought in June 2018. It is possible that the level of humidity and ventilation need to be questioned and we will review it. Mrs. G., I have read your comment with great concern and unfortunately I cannot turn back the clock in time, but I do hope the spirit of my response has gone some way to reinstate your confidence in Raffles. Per our file, you are residing in Singapore and I truly hope you will give us an opportunity to show ourselves under a better light. Was fine however my credit card was charged 3 times and it was my bank that alerted me and also sorted out the issue train your front desk people. Also we were there for a week and our room was old needed repair work there are stains on the seat not good enough.
