« Let down by the Staff and the Complexity of the Room »

Most of the Staff are wonderful. Some staff do not understand their role - this cannot be attributed to Language difficulties (if they do not understand, they can ask for the request to be repeated, or involve another Staff Member - this happened twice and was fine). The requested Newspaper was not delivered. Efforts were made to address the failings in the Service - but, unfortunately, that does not erase the experience. There was little space to move around the Room - it was not a restful place to be. The cost of the Breakfast is outrageously high. One person behind the Bar is two people too few. I am very disappointed that we did not receive Accor Points for the stay.

We stayed in le royal monceau for around 7days, except the first day for checkin, the rest were not that pleasant. Every little detail shows the lack of basic service standard as a five star hotel. Our used wine glasses remained for 3 days, im sure no one would touch them if we didnt call housekeeping; No general “hi, or good morning” from the front desk; when we are trying to get out of the hotel with two baby strollers and two young toddlers, no one help us or hold the door for us; we were trying to find a chinese restaurant for breakfast and we consulted the concierge, they replied us that they didn’t have much experiences with Chinese clients so they dont know; and when checkout, I complained all the issues to the front desk, and they guy told me he would write me an email to follow up and apologies.. until now I haven’t heard from them...... we were really quite disappointed and probably will never go back again because of their arrogance.

« Beautiful and comfortable stay! »

My room was beautiful and very comfortable. I loved the light that came through the room as well as all the mirrors in the bathroom. I never had any issues with noise and slept very well. The lights are a little hard to figure out in the room but weren't a problem. My bed for some reason lifted up two mornings when I got out of it, as if it were on hydraulics. Very interesting:) When my guests and I arrived they had us checking in the next day but were able to get us rooms (not early check in like we were supposed to have) so it all worked out and since we were fresh off a long flight, they let us use the spa facilities to change and freshen up which was really nice. However, the spa needs a little TLC. It smelled musty like mildew. That was the only off putting thing I noticed during our entire stay but I think it could easily be fixed. I loved the decor and overall style of the hotel. The store by concierge is very lovely and has great things to purchase. Breakfast was incredible every morning. I only wish we could have eaten at Matsuhisa one of the nights. Every person on staff that I dealt with was so friendly and helpful. Overall it's a beautiful hotel that I would definitely recommend.

I chose this hotel for two nights to celebrate my wife's 50th Birthday. I initially booked an Executive Room but we were upgraded to a Gallery Suite by a very lovely lady who was genuinely interested in our stay. The Hotel is large but still fairly personal. The staff are without exception brilliant and nearly all new my name which is always impressive. The rooms are exceptional, all designed by Phillip Starck and it sets this Hotel apart from all the others in the price range. The concierge service is faultless. The Spa is simply the best I have ever been in. Its not cheap here, not by any means and it attracts the sort of client that money is simply not an issue and that may not suit everyone. However the experience of staying here is worth putting up with that type and the staff are lovely. I have only one small criticism however. The buffet breakfast although brilliant is a little awkward and not well explained. On our first morning there was no sub menu to let you know you can have eggs, bacon, mushrooms hash browns.. all sorts of stuff additional to the cold buffet...so we missed out there... a bit annoying. The second morning we were actually given a little menu with everything on, it was delicious and beautifully cooked so bare that in mind. Lastly the service for breakfast is incredibly slow. I waited over 30 mins for two poached eggs and had to delay our Taxi... not great given its 5* rating. Places like this can be let down by just one small detail and there is simply no excuse for it. Other than that it was superb... really superb.

Staff and service were great, however, the extreme styling of the hotel also created some discomfort. As an example, we checked in early, before our rooms were prepared. Entering the hotel after checkin, there was no seating area that was welcoming and comfortable to plan our events, given that we had no room. The staff did not provide any options for freshening up after our arrival given we had a 15 hour journey to the hotel. The rooms had equally confusing comforts. The seating in the room was a hard armoire with no back cushion, the location of the furniture, plus the guitar, created difficult obstacles to get around the room and made it feel cluttered. The sheets were very expensive linen - but linen is not so comfortable to sleep on. Generally appreciated warmth of staff, but unfortunately offset by discomforts of hotel design. One final point, this hotel did not participate in the Club Accor program

We appreciated being upgraded regarding our three rooms. Your concierges were very good in regard to all of our requests. But the hotel has issues. Room service repeatedly failed to retrieve and replace used glasses and cups. The headboard and table behind our bed in Room 307 were not attached and kept falling over. Housekeeping would take and not replace bathrobes. Why was the bathroom mirror not over the sink? Why wasn't there a small vanity mirror in the bathroom with an enlarging mirror? Why weren't there fresh berries on the breakfast buffet? Why did it take so long to receive cooked items at breakfast? You need more front office staff, as we almost always had to stand in line for service? We purposely chose your hotel because on your website you offered special services for children but we learned that none of those services actually exist- no specially priced meals, no special room or bathroom amenities, etc. When we inquired about them at the front desk we were told that what was on the website was inaccurate. The air conditioning settings we placed would disappear in the middle of the night and would re-set themselves. This was our fourth trip to Paris in the last 12 months. We come often and regularly. We have stayed at the Le Bristol, Plaza Athenee, Fougets, Four Seasons, The Ritz, The Crillon, The Meurice and everyone of the best hotels. None mislead a customer with false website promises. Their service is much better. Their breakfast services are superior. You need to improve.

It was a very pleasant stay with very courteous staff. It was wonderful to get a room upgrade. On the downside, the AC didn’t cool properly and housekeeping were very slow to bring up some requested items.

on the first night there was no space for us in the restaurant, on the second night i was kept awake till 2am because there was a disco downstairs, i called reception 7 times with mere effect. shocking service, never again...

The room was lovely and the service was the best I’ve experienced. The food was fresh and well prepared and everyone made us feel welcome and so comfortable. The only let down was that the concierge didn’t fulfill a request of mine, however, that was minor compared to rest of the experience.
