The hotel provides all the comforts and needs with a lovely swimming pool and good rooms. Food is good and breakfasts have a huge choice. The evening buffet did not have as wide a choice as at previous visits though.

I was asked to pay a full room charge for 1 hour stay when previously i was offered half room charge. I have stayed 4 times in your hotel and this is the last time

Regarding your early arrival, our check-in time is 3pm onwards and we would normally recommend early arriving guests to pre-block one night’s accommodation for the night before their arrival to guarantee they can gain access upon early arrival around 5-6am. Because our Hotel had full occupancy on the night of 6th May, regrettably there were no available rooms available for you in the early morning of 7th May. Mr. D., I will take full responsibility to improve your experiences on your next visit and I would therefore appreciate if you could let me know of your next travel date to stay with us. Meanwhile, this hotel is one of my favorite when staying in Shanghai. Its location could not be better: Close to metro station Jin'an Temple with access to lines #2 and #7, it is convenient to get to either Shanghai Railway Station (30 min), Hongqiao Station or airport (45 min), or Pudong airport (< 1 h when using Maglev). Rooms have enough space and are well maintained. The elevators are running at low noise level, which is not the case in many other 5-star hotels in SH. Breakfast is meeting highest standards. The Executive Lounge is quiet and comfortable, service there is excellent (special thanks to Darcy, Carol and Lisa), with snacks at lunchtime, afternoon tea/coffee & desserts, and extended &quot;Happy-Hour&quot;-time between 5:30pm and 8:00pm.

Staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The email I received a week before confirming my trip and flight arrangements showed being proactive. The staff remember my room number when I visit the VIP lounge after the first visit. Rooms always clean and cleaning staff are very professional and courteous.

I would like a special commendation to go to 'John' who worked on the concierge desk on May 1st. I checked out after 5 nights and had a car take me and my husband to the airport. After arriving we realised our passports were still in the hotel room safe. Reception staff were phoned, retrieved the passports and John kindly drove them out to the airport. This was all done within an hour and we were gratefully able to catch our flight home to Australia. Many thanks to all staff.

Convenient location, just 2minutes' walk to MTR JingAn station, have restaurants nearby and a few steps to shopping malls in nan jing west road. Clean rooms and comfortable beds, but pillows are too soft for me. Housekeeping staffs always greet us with smiling faces. But some hair are left behind in the washroom even after cleaning. Helpful and friendly staffs, gave us opinions on visit to Suzhou and helped us to call taxi to the airport. In general, nice hotel, good service and great location.

The location is good. Convenient with amenities surrounding. Staff are very helpful. Room is spacious and nice finishes. However, need to improve on your breakfast dim sum quality and coffee! I very surprised that one night when we back to the hotel, there was a man at the main entrance asking me whether want to look for girls. Wanted to pass me name card! This happened at a prestige hotel really stunned me. I have stayed a 3 star hotel in Shanghai and never have that before.

First time staying at this hotel, check in process was efficient and staff were friendly. Room wise was spacious and clean. My room booking came with daily buffet breakfast which unfortunately is something that needs an improvement ie noticed guest including myself do not know if a table is occupied by someone else as there was no indication of the table was already taken. On one of days i had left the table to pickup some further items to eat all of my cutlery including my coffee and juice were taken away by the staff as they had thought I was done eating. As a suggestion either the staff take note of the tables that are occupied or provided a tag that says a table is occupied which the guest can return the tag to the staff when they are done eating. Overall had a pleasant stay, would stay again when the opportunity arises.

Comfortable and Relaxing Stay in a perfect location in Shanghai

The Swissôtel Grand Shanghai is very well located in Jian An Temple, one of the top location in Shanghai, easily reachable from the Pudong International Airport either by a direct bus or by subway. Subway exit is right next to the hotel, so is the bus stop. The staff has been very kind and welcoming, we received even a room upgrade according to our AccorHotel status. The Room is big enough (for city center Shanghai), comfortable, quiet and for a very attractive price. We also appreciated to have both a bathtub and a shower in the bathroom. The room we received has a nice design, however it could be refreshed a bit (some scratches on pieces of furniture, curtains a bit aging, etc..). The work table lamp was not very stable, the drawer has a grey aluminum hanger, although a wood or brown color would fit much more to a 5* hotel grade. The bathroom door did not fully close, which could lead to privacy issue for guests. On the service, we notably highly appreciated to be able to come back to the hotel for a few hours (before our flight) and still be able to leave our luggage to the concierge, even though we did not stay at the hotel on that day. That is wonderful service for travelers. On another aspect, when we asked the Concierge how to reach the bus station to Pudong Airport, he indicated the back exit, not being aware that this passage has been closed and we did need to walk around the block (just 2 minutes actually). We did not take breakfast, so cannot evaluate its quality, but the area around the hotel is full of breakfast, lunch or dinner opportunities. In general, we highly appreciated this hotel and its staff and will certainly come back to it on our next trip to Shanghai.
