« We held a conference at the hotel and it was very professionally handled. »

I just have two quick issues. I was given a suite which was great but I found it odd that in a two level suite there was no full length mirror or make up mirror. I was sent two small bottles of chardonnay that were taken away before my stay was over along with other small goodies from the hotel. That was a bit disappointing.

The staffing and environment was fine but for the price paid I would have expected more out of the room itself. My bathroom was a mess as the first thing I noticed was the towel shelf hanging off the wall. Then later when I went to take a shower I needed two hands to drag a old vinyl shower curtain acrossed the rob. This was a pain every single day. On top of that, the shower hose/head was cracked and literally sprayed everywhere. Once I was done shower everyday I had to wipe the floor up of water to risk not slipping. Everything else was fine in the room but I would have honestly been better off getting ready in the lobby bathroom.

The person at the front desk was very cold and almost rude when I checked in. She didn’t say anything when I walked up and so I gave her my name and let her know I was there to check-in. I forget her first name, but her last name is Costello. I remember thinking that I couldn’t ever recall being treated so poorly at check-in and noted her name on her name tag. Additionally, the fitness center at the hotel was closed, and I would have appreciated if I had been told that at check-in. The rest of the staff was generally pretty helpful and friendly. The folks at the Palm restaurant downstairs were great – they should train the hotel staff! The room was nice, and I had a great view. The bed was fine, but the AC didn’t work very well in my room. I set it on high at 65 degrees (the lowest temperature on the thermostat and also the temp I usually sleep at) and I woke up hot both nights that I slept there. Engineering came after my first night to look at my AC, but the performance of the AC was unchanged. I think the room was probably in the upper 60s/low 70s both nights.

« Staff was friendly, bell hops were excellent, room needs to be cleaned and fixed. »

Ok. Room 1220 needs a new light in between the beds. When i called on this, I returned to my room to find that whoever came to "fix" is just unplugged it and left the table pulled out slightly. I couldn't read in bed. When I asked for a razor and shaving cream, I was delivered a box with just cream, no razor. I had to walk down and get another. Bathroom doorknob (inside) is broken and pulls completely off the door. Not a great room.

Comfortable room but service is lacking at check-in (rooms weren't ready for a large amount of people until well past check in time), room not as reserved, and parking issues (car was damaged in valet parking). Otherwise, room was typical of an upscale hotel but nothing special. Location is great.

Check-in was a disaster. A 'wait list' for rooms 60+ people long. Arrived for a conference, had to either wait for the room to be ready (well after the promised check-in time at this point), or skip the beginning of the conference. I chose the latter, and then had to wait in a line dozens deep when my room was finally ready to get my key. Completely absurd. The parking situation was a mess as well- no self park available, so my coworker had to valet. When the car was returned to us, there was a scrape on the side. The room itself was fine, but I've stayed at better hotels in Chicago for far less money.

« Some minor frustrations. »

There were a few things that I consider minor issues during my stay. 1) the toilet in my room didn't seem to be attached to the floor (room 3214). It moved and felt like it might tip over. 2) the maid service didn't replace hand towels and face cloths. I had to go and ask for them.. 3) i had some packages delivered and the young man that worked in the business center wasn't very helpful. One package was very important and was sent for 8AM delivery. He told me there was no way it would arrive before 11AM. I went and tracked the package, only to find it had already arrived even before I spoke to him.

Rooms and staff were good but needed more staff. Not adequate concierge staff. Restaurant in lobby looked like a Denny’s coffee shop despite being a well known steak house. Lobby needs help looked like a holiday inn despite being an upscale facility

« Neglectful housekeeping linens not changed, bathroom incomplete »

Your hotel is beautiful, but housekeeping was awful. Had to complain which I hate doing. Still not fixed. Complained again and housekeeping manager came up. Dirty dishes left in room, linen not changed for 4 days, not enough towels, bath mat now replaced. For the price of the room this is not acceptable. It did mar our experience.

« Good except there weren't any amenities available which I was very surprised about. »

Hotel staff were quite accommodating during my stay. I was somewhat disappointed with the quality of food from catering and very surprised there were no guest amenities available for exercise facilities, swimming, hot tub, etc. I booked my reservation over the phone with the desk clerk in Chicago and was never informed all off the amenities would be closed during my stay. I had packed workout clothes, swimsuit, etc., and was willing to pay for a more expensive hotel thinking these would be available.
