We stayed at Swissotel to attend a conference that was held there. Not only were there conference facilities great, our room was spacious & had a fantastic view of the river and lake. Also, the hotel was not far from public transit which we used every day that we were in Chicago. Swissotel is essentially on the Riverwalk which was great for getting out to walk or run. We would highly recommend a stay & hope to stay there should if we found ourselves in Chicago again.

Staying at the Swissôtel Chicago was a lovely experience. I lived in the city of Chicago for close to 30 years, but moved out to the suburbs a few years ago. I had an event in the city and stayed here. Great location, nice views. Rooms were clean, new, comfortable. I had a room right next to the elevator and was initially concerned about noise - was not a problem. Friendly staff. Best part was I arrived at 7:00 AM and a room was available, so able to check in. Having stayed at half a dozen other hotels downtown, this is unheard of (either not able to do it or a substantial charge). Honestly, allowing the early check in at no charge showed me that this hotel is truly about the satisfaction of their guests, not the extra cash. Reasonable rates. Stay here!

Horrendous experience. 2 of our colleagues did not have rooms on the property even though we had pre-paid confirmed reservations. One was sent to a neighboring hotel and the other to one a mile away which also did not have any availability. He then had to return to the Swissotel to be told that they had magically created another vacant room for him. The 2nd colleague found live bugs in her bed on the 2nd night at Swissotel and was then also moved to a different room. Absolutely horrendous experience that we shared with the conference organizers. Management has been unhelpful since and also unresponsive. Absolutely atrocious hotel experience and we are a team that is typically on the road every week.

The room was very nice and the staff very helpful. However, I was disappointed in the "up-sell" push for my room. I didn't understand the additional charge at the time of my agreement either until I got the bill. It was presented as if my "room was not available, but (I) could get another room for 4-5 dollars." I didn't realize it was forty-five dollars.

My overall experience was good. My room was clean and I liked the option to skip housekeeping in exchange for a restaurant credit. However, I tried to redeem the credit upon my checkout and I was told that it was too late because my account was not updated to show that I skipped housekeeping until late the night before and the restaurant wasn't open at the time of my checkout (approximately 4 AM). I skipped two days of housekeeping so $20 is not a big deal but it would have been a nice gesture. Also, I asked for toiletries from the front desk as I forgot a few key items and didn't make it to the drug store in Chicago in time as planned. The attendant at the front desk was pretty snarky...she asked me if I staying at the hotel....that was rude. The lady who checked me in originally was extremely pleasant, she gave me great advice re: what to order from hotel restaurant and she offered to print some documents for me that I needed to overnight the next morning. The business center attached to the hotel was also a great help. Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed at Swissotel Chicago because rooms were booked for a wedding we attended. We were generally very happy with our stay. We ate breakfast on 2 days and it was wonderful; great service and very reasonable prices for a downtown hotel. Our only complaint was the shower door leaked horribly, soaking the mat plus a towel on each use - room 1214.

A $7.00 charge from 24/7 appeared on my bill. It was not mine. I brought it to the attention of the front desk. I was told Swissotel does not make mistakes. It was my responsibility. I asked the front desk person if she was intentionally questioning my integrity. She did not apologize but tried to explain that perhaps someone made an error because the hotel was full and understaffed. Very sad experience. She eventually took the charge off a bill in excess of $700.

This trip was a absolute nightmare. We brought 19 people from Illinois and Texas for my daughter’s 25th birthday and it was ruined. I booked 4 rooms under my name as I only needed 2 for myself and 2 for friends flying in from Texas. I was told to have the 2 from Texas to call in and give you their name and credit card and they did. When I arrived a rude Nicole Thompson would not listen to me and pre authorized my credit card close to 2000 for everyone’s room. We had no money as I only brought that card. We had to borrow money from our friends from Texas, so embarrassing. When I asked rude Nicole for a print out of what she pre authorized as she argued I was to pay for all rooms and said she couldn’t give me a print out. My friends arrive and tell me that they had the same terrible experience with Nicole Thompson. I talked to Alfred the next day who was also rude and said he fixed my account which he did not. I also told him he should comp our stay with this disaster and he would not. He said I will only give you 1 night for your 2 rooms. We will never stay at your hotel again. They never changed the authorization on one of the rooms a friend from Texas stayed in and put her credit card on file and charged me for both nights. Nicole Thompson should be forex. What a disgrace she is representing your hotel. Oh and the money is still not put back on my credit card after working with Gabriel in accounting. We will never stay at your hotel again!!
