Hotel very quiet only one restaurant open bar food stopped at 6pm We order food from bar second night (Fish and Chips) the beer batter was soggy if fact got great compliment from my husband he said my batter was so much better.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The reason I did not rate the overall experience as 10 was due to the cleanliness of the bath. I did report it to the front desk who apologised and would ensure the bath and drain would get a deep clean. We were kindly given a glass of wine as an apology.

We stayed for our silver wedding which I mentioned when I phoned to get a room near a lift. When we arrived at check in we were offered congratulations and when we checked out the same person asked if we had had a nice silver wedding. This was very professional and gave a large hotel a personal touch. Service was first class.

A pleasant 3 day treat that just flew by . Food lovely evening meal in the Italian restaurant was perfect. Wish we had stayed longer and used the spa but so much to do locally. Staff very good and very helpful . A definite revisit

We really enjoyed your pool so relaxing. Our room was lovely including a comfy bed and wonderful bathroom. We have been many times and the staff are so helpful each time.

i treated my partner to an overnight stay at the hotel to celebrate his 30th birthday, upon arrival at the hotel around 1045am we were offered a special rate of the executive suite which we politely declined, we were told our room was not yet ready, however i had already pre arranged a spa package for both my and partner, from 1145 onwards, however when at spa inwas greet ed vy staff who told me that our massages actually c Mmenced at 11am and since we were 10 mintues later we would recieve less time in massage, we were both rushed to get changed and settled! Not impressed as its was meant to be a relaxing experience, i beleive a mix uo of booming times on behalf of spa staff resulted in this! I had pre requested a bottle of prosecco be placed in our room for arriving, we checked in at 1245pm and i had to call reception three times to chase up the prosecco. We ordered breakfast to our room for the following morning, the breakfast nothing short of disgusting! The items were dry, over cooked, items missing, i was highly disappointed as was my partner! Overall i would choose not to stay at the fairmont again! We were extremely disappointed as we had expected sheer luxury, instead we were left feeling like we had overpayed to stay in an average hotel!

We were delighted with the public areas and the staff, excellent. However there are some areas which did not do a 5* hotel any favours. 1. A few of the towels in the bedroom were a little threadbare. 2. The bedroom was not very welcoming, the colour scheme is dated as is the furniture. (Bathroom is lovely). 3. The breakfast was first class except the bacon which had gone hard. 4. Being our first visit we were keen to use the pool. We couldn’t find any information in the hotel information book in the bedroom. Once we found the Spa we had difficulty finding someone to explain the process before getting to the pool. We didn’t feel it appropriate to stand at reception telling the member of staff about our crumbles in front of other guests. Thank you

Fine. Pity that the room on one of the day's was not up to Fairmont standards. This was even after it was 'cleaned' again when it was requested to be 'finished’. Breakfast not as good as previous. Apart from water melon had to peel your own fresh fruit. Bit messy and not what I would expect at a 5 star hotel. Grapefruit halves were dried out around the edges. Can no longer get eggs benedict at breakfast in the restaurant but you can if you order from room device! How bizarre is that. You used to do it in the restaurant. These things distracted from what is a good breakfast offering. Also can't order 'sliders' in Kittocks until after 6pm but you can get them from room service. Lastly ate in la Cucina on the first night. We ordered the special main. Good flavours but portion size a disgrace and even worse given the price. The size was smaller than the starter! We did not eat there again. Why are there 'no added sugar' fruit juices at breakfast.

« A fabulous stay in a lovely hotel »

This visit was to celebrate our anniversary. This was our first stay in the Fairmont and we were very impressed with everything including the standard of the food both in the Kittocks bar and the St Andrews grill. Breakfast was also lovely. We also used the excellent gym and spa facilities. Will certainly return in future.

Overall the stay at the Fairmont was lovely, the facilities and surroundings were beautiful. As I was on my own the package I booked was probably not the best value for money for me as it was based on 2 people. The massage I received as part of my spa package was very disappointing. I requested a firm massage but this is not what I received. I expected to feel relaxed after the treatment and to have had the knots removed from my back. Instead I found the treatment rather stressful & could not switch off. The therapist started off tickling the back of my legs followed by pushing down on my back, pulling at my shoulders and what felt like pinching my neck.

Fantastic stay at the Fairmont hotel as always. We were staying to celebrate our First Wedding Anniversary and were greeted with a glass of bubbly at check in. We had a fabulous meal in the evening at La Cucina, overlooking the Atrium. The staff were brilliant seeing to our every need and we again received another glass of bubbly at dinner which was a great touch and very unexpected. We will definitely be back at the Fairmont to celebrate more in the future, highly recommend this wonderful hotel.

« Great Hotel , Brilliant Staff however poor organisation. »

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were brilliant , special mention to the American Manager - apologies for not catching her name - for remembering it was my girlfriends birthday . Unfortunately however we did feel with the price paid for the room a 4pm check in was late , however once we got there the room and the hotel quickly changed our mind , especially impressed with the the balloons and the prosecco as requested. However things when downhill when we went down to the spa and pool only to be told it was “ full” and that “we’d have to put our name on a waiting list” , unfortunately we were keen to go into the spa after a long drive which meant that with the late check in we wouldn’t be allowed into the spa until around 7pm. This meant we had to change our plans to go into town for dinner as it was so late , reception suggested we had food in the Italian at the hotel so we cancelled our taxis to town and our dinner reservations to phone the Italian to then be told it was full and there was no available tables , even though there was just 2 of us . We were disappointed as we felt it was strange for the check in to be 4pm and then told at 5:30/6pm we couldn’t get into the spa because of non guests , I would expect paying guests to be the first priority. In the end as we went back and forth with reception and ourselves thinking of what to do we ended up ordering food to the room and having a lovely night there . The breakfast was superb as expected and after some delay in getting out the car park - i parked my car myself in the wrong car park as there was no valet around and I didn’t realise and didnt want to bother anyone - we drove back home.
