« Good but not as good as before »

Overall my experience was positive. However, there were some points to be addressed for such a highly valued hotel that was *not* as good as my previous stay. Check In: The service left me disappointed. Coming in as a couple, we had a luggage each with 3 carry-ons as we have had been in Europe for 10 days. At any other hotels I would have had help. Nothing at Fairmont Montreux. Furthermore, post-check-in, I was not offered any help but simply "Here is your room, the elevator to your room is that way". Lackluster. Restaurant: Service was great, I would like to greatly compliment and applaud the hostess lady at MP's Bar & Grill, great service, great host, enthusiastic and great to talk to. Great woman. I have stayed at the hotel for more than 4 times over the last few years. Unfortunately the service has been dropping. Hopefully the next trip will be better.

« Very nice hotel »

We stayed in the hotel for just one night but it was magical. The room overlooking the lake is very beautiful also if it’s a little bit small. Breakfast is very good and plenty of choice. The should put the breakfast with lake view though because it would be even better.

We had a lovely balcony over looking Lake Geneva! Our room was very spacious. Breakfast was amazing and so was dinner. We were very impressed with our meals. We look forward to returning to Montreaux!

Well booking the reservation you asked if it was a special occasion. I explained it was a monumental like changing special occasion that we chose to celebrate at your hotel. Or rather to make it a landmark at your hotel. It was clearly forgotten. I have also earned my status as a platinum member. I don’t consider three pears a platinum welcome amenity.

It was a fabulous stay/experience with one exception. Before dining with my wife at the MP's Bar & Grill (?) restaurant I told the Maitre D' that I wanted to use my "Authentically Local Food Experience" certificate and I requested clarifications as to what it included. The Maitre D' responded that it included the main beef entry plus an appetizer of our choice for each one of us, and that my wife (due to allergies) could substitute the beef entry with the chicken entry. To my surprise on checking out I realized that the "Authentically Local Food Experience" was only applied against my main entry. Your check-out staff insisted that they could not apply the certificate to my wife's substitute entry or the appertizers, to which I responded by requesting to re-instate the certificate and to apply the dining certificates against it. Checking my account a few moments ago, I see that both the "Authentically Local Food Experience" and the dining certificates have been applied against this same dining. I expect that the "Authentically Local" certificate will be re-instated in due time. However, the fact remains that I have not received optimal value by applying my dining certificates rather than the "Authentically Local" certificate. Please let me know if there is anything you can do about this unfortunate event. Savvas

« A very satisfying stay »

It was a very satisfying stay from the start with a complimentary upgrade from a Junior suite to a Signature suite with stunning views of the Swiss alps and the lake. Hotel location couldn’t be better being just a 5mins walk to the Montreux train station. Very convenient to walk by the lake and many restaurants were within walking distance. Also had pleasant experiences with hotel staff at check-in, check-out, room service and the gym.

« Did not meet my expeditions of a 5 Star »

I was excited and had looked forward to staying at this Fairmont. Owning a Travel Agency in the past I had booked several clients and heard wonderful things. I can only say, maybe the language barrier, but we felt some of your staff were actually rude. The worst was the chemical smell in our room. When I had inquired, I was told it was cleaning. It was so strong of an order.

Every member of the Montreux Palace staff that we contacted were excellent, including Reservations, Reception, Concierge, Housekeeping and Fitness. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The fitness centre was well equipped. This was our second time at the Montreux Palace and we are eager to return!
