« Had higher expectations being a Fairmont. I have had better experiences at other Fairmont’s, was a bit disappointed with our stay in Monte Carlo. »

Had a lot of confusion with initial booking, because I was travelling with family(4) I booked a room with 2 queen beds, but then was told last min that only 3 people could stay in that size room. Why I was able to book it in the first place I have no idea. This caused a lot of scrambling last min. Room was generous and could have fit a roll away but this wasn’t an option. (I have a teen son and a daughter so better when they have their own bed). Room was directly off elevators and housekeeping room, so was noisy. Most disappointing was our AC didn’t work very well. We were all hot and couldn’t sleep being so warm and only heavy duvets on the bed. After a long flight and walking around in heat we really wanted a cool comfortable room. I found the Nikki Beach area too exclusive and really marketed towards a night life/bar/club atmosphere. Felt like a bit of a meat market. So not at all a place I’d take my children. Music pumping at all hours was also not welcoming to our family. Location was great. We hoped for an early check in and was grateful they could accommodate this. Breakfast area had stunning views and staff was generally friendly there. If I was to return to Monte Carlo I’d look for other hotel options first.

« As a regular guest, this stay was satisfactory but not up to usual standards »

My wife and I stay at The Fairmont, Monte Carlo on average three times per year. We have also introduced a number of friends to the hotel. However, on this occasion we were disappointed with having to request a turn down service as well as our room not being cleaned one day! I consider this to be unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. My wife placed a make up stained bath robe in the bath, expecting it to be replaced with a clean robe however the soiled item was re-hung on the bathroom door! We asked concierge to exchange a monetary note on our behalf and were told to do it ourselves in future. The room was smaller than what is usually offered. Breakfast service was laborious. All in all, a memorable experience for the wrong reasons. We had already booked to stay again on the 2nd of September however are now considering our options.

I was put in a noisy room with a barge outside the window and was woken at 6am by staff getting the pool area ready for the day ahead . Plus I was near the lift and the service lift /area. I was moved they following day but it was a 12/15 minute walk to my new room from the lobby and didn't have a good view . I was not aware that the pool area was also a discotheque and the noise was awful far to loud and not at all relaxing. One of the Doormen who was responsible for calling taxi's seems to be on the take and demanded money from the taxi driver when he dropped someone off and was given me to transport. He also never managed to call me a taxi and I often had to wait over 20 mins before I could get one when someone was dropped off.I was teold by one such Monaco driver that the hotel had not called for a cab- My call would have been on his system otherwise.

We were coming to Monaco for the wedding of a friendly couple. We arrived at around 3pm and had to wait in the que for check in for about one hour. After all the wait, we were given a wrong room with 2 beds , despite clearly booking and paying for a "king-size bed" room. The receptionist did not even advise of such change and was not polite. We had to complain and ask for a change, which costed us 2 hours of our time and had to miss the first event of the wedding. We were only given a new room the next day (after 3.30pm which means we only checked in Sunday early am hours after the wedding main event) and we had to go through re-packing / re-unpacking all Saturday morning before we get ready. But as this was not enough, the stuff that moved our bags on Saturday afternoon broke one of the luggage, by making a clear hole in it and not mentioning anything! In addition to this the managing stuff tried to blame the airport, despite having carried the bags twice already and not noticing any hole at all.

overall it felt like an old untaken care-of hotel. corridors were smelly. elevators were not functioning at one point during our stay water was not complimentary in the room which is unacceptable for a hotel of your calibre.

5 star hotel with pool . Stayed for 4 nights . 2 days in could not get a bed around pool . Very rude staff ! Sat on that sofa all day and spent €450 ! Just to sit at my hotel pool ! And not even a bed . Stayed many times . However, never again . 5 star with a pool that you are not allowed to use . 4th day front desk told us we could use a beach nearby for €30 each ! Maybe they should put that information on the website . For most guests it would be normal to use the pool in a 5 star .. great hotel , but to pay 30€ per person to be shipped off to a beach ... cannot be 5 star service

Our stay was pretty dissatisfying. 1) took over 45mins to check in. 2) one out of 2 rooms was not available till 5p if checkin. 3) bell boy service for luggage, getting cabs etc was atrocious. 4) rooms were dated and mediocre. 5) food was severely overpriced even by Monaco standards.

THOUGHT THE HOTEL AND STAFF WERE VERY GOOD JUST A SHAME ABOUT YOUR POOL AREA OK IF YOU ARE YOUNG AND SLIM BUT IT MAKES YOU FEEL VERY UNCOMFOTABLE AND IT IS ALO VERY NOISEY. I saw an elderly couple who felt very out of place you need to have an area that is quieter with loungers.

The Fairmont was one of the greatest hotel experiences I've had. The front staff was incredible - Angelica and Monan (I believe my spelling is accurate) were beyond considerate and attentive. Nuru was a phenomenal experience and the food was excellent. The rooms were spacious and had an incredible view. All in all, it was phenomenal - thank you, I look forward to returning again soon!

« a lovely property, a lovely city, a few key things fell short for us during our stay. »

The hotel is beautiful. The room set up bed, basic stuff was good and as expected. What was not great was the Air Conditioning and room never got really to a comfortable temperature... it ran the whole time. I called on this and they said they would look...I'm never sure if that happened. I HATED that there were not any outlets in the bathroom and that I could not use my own hair dryer. The one provided has an odd switch on it and a short tight cord that made drying my hair VERY VERY annoying and difficult. The Drain in the shower was VERY SLOW or plugged up so you ended up standing up to your legs by the time the shower was done. The pool area was lovely - However the pool service was not all that great, Lunch there was VERY mediocre and the staff not very interested in service we had to wait more than 30 min for the check. We thought the staff and people at the front desk, concierige very helpful, and the bell staff was great with our car. WE would likely come back , but just seems like you are missing a few easy common things that would make the stay so much better. I left there thinking .... "over priced for the service' we received.

Had a great stay. Room was a bit outdated, but clean. The hotel staff was professional and very friendly! The restaurant staff surprised me with a wonderful breakfast on my birthday. Amazing location and very good equipped gym which was at times crowded.
