Historic, charming and elegant hotel with very nice breakfast, fun American Bar and excellent Simpson’s-in-the-Strand. Also had lunch at the Coal Hole. Highly recommend all.

The hotel room was dark and small. The bakery goods were served burn black The head receptionist gave ma a lecture about how the Savoy could not allow me to discuss moving to a suite unless I was ready to move the junior receptionist tried to tell her senior that I was not asking to hold a reservation - I was looking for information. After two weeks I moved to the Sheraton Park Tower.

There does seem to have been a misunderstanding, as you will recall the manager on duty agreed to arrange a suite upgrade, but that you advised the move would be dependent on when your wife’s would return to the hotel, as the suite was specifically for her comfort and relaxation. As your wife’s return was delayed, you requested we hold off moving rooms and in the end, you asked the manager to cancel the move altogether, as your wife was not going to be returning to the hotel before your due check out day. We recall only pleasant conversations with you, so to read your review is a concern. We hope you will give us the opportunity to understand from your point of view what happened. Great, except for the front desk trying to upgrade us to a suite at a huge price. Restaurants and live music were great.

No complaints at all! Very smooth sailing. Shame there aren’t more sockets for hairdryers and shower door catches on bath mat when you get out. Seems a shame.

We had cocktail in Simpson’s on the Stand followed by dinner in the Savoy Grill, which was fantastic before taking in the show School of Rock just located up the road. Finally staying the night in the hotel and finish a perfect afternoon/evening with a wonderful full English breakfast in the Thames Foyer. The staff at all venues were wonderful and each venue connected to the hotel was faultless.

We stayed for 3 nights in room 502, and sampled a different restaurant (Kaspar's, Savoy Grill and Simpsons) each night. Very pleasant stay, but marred somewhat by a non functioning wc in the bathroom attended to twice by your engineers but without success !

Reception, room, bar excellent. Spoilt by dinning at the Savoy Grill which was dreadful. The menu was like a down market bistro. We were sat on a small table sandwiched between two noisy footballers wives parties and the tables were reoccupied twice. The service was poor, hurried and ordinary with many low lights. The dress code was not observed by other guests who for eg wore tee shirts and ripped jeans. A very underwhelming experience.
