We have already shared our experience with friends and family. From booking over the phone, to walking in to a room that was completely decorated by the staff for my birthday, to the wonderful service during the hors d'oeuvres, to breakfast, and cute little hot wheels toys given to my kids during breakfast. The extra charge for the Gold floor went from $150 to $100 and the. Co-attendees to our meetings were offered the Gold floor for $90/night extra. I am Platinum. The other person is not. Kinda offensive. The Gold floor afternoon and morning offerings were below standard compared to other Gold Floors.

From the time we pulled up to the time we checked out the Fairmont Winnipeg was a complete disappointment. Having been a Platinum once upon a time I have stayed at several Fairmont properties around the world and they should take their name of this property. We pulled up and were advised to valet because the self parking was unsafe. Was told they had a great upgrade for me. Thanked the desk clerk and was then told it was only an additional $50. I have never been offered an upgrade then asked to pay for it later. The room we ended up getting was old tired and 2 star quality at most. The beds were doubles, yet we were supposed to get 2 queens I could have gotten the same crap room for half the price off Priceline but booked direct from the hotel for the weekend package. The package included drinks, so when I went to order them the too cool to bother bartender was less than professional. When he finally brought the drinks he basically just flung them at me. I was going to drop a $20 but hey why bother - the drinks were horrible as well. I could go on but like the bartender, I doubt anyone will care.

Check in was great, every employee we encountered was very friendly and genuine. Complaints stem from the facility itself. Our room never got to the temperature we set. We were uncomfortably hot most nights. There is also no exhaust fan in the bathroom so after showering the room is humid and even more hot than before. There are also not enough parking spaces in the designated garage.

I was very well cared for. I stayed for 22 days and staff called me by name, waved at me across rooms and made my long stay memorable. Colleen Desmarais and her front desk staff of May, Dawn and Julie, were exceptional, and my housekeeper Velma outstanding. They are to be commended.

Hotel was nice and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Staff was great. Only issue was a/c was not working but someone was sent right away to fix it.

I find the rooms on the gold floor quite worn. Please invest in your property- new drapes , etc. Staff were wonderful, attentive and considerate !
