Excellent service and stay except for the nickel and diming, charging a rental fee to put things in the fridge is ridiculous. Our stay with you was followed by a stay at The Four Seasons, and they don't charge that ridiculous fee, in fact they leave the fridge empty and invite you to use it.

The Gold floor was definitely a plus. Having your own concierge instead of waiting in the lobby. Thanks Ian for taking care of our missing skis on our first day and recommendations for places to eat. Overall, it was wonderful stay with my family. Invaluable!

nice, as expected on checkout after a 6 night stay we were hoping that someone from Fairmont could drive us over to Cascades (which is a 5 minute drive away from the Fairmont) to pick up our rental car. My husband, Dr. Daniel Kmiecik and I are each Fairmont Platinum members. We were told sorry, we are too busy with arrivals to take you over to the Avis car rental in the Cascades in one of the Fairmont vehicles, we can call you a taxi. I could see that more than one of the Fairmont BMW SUVs was sitting in front of the hotel. We took a taxi, a $6.25 taxi ride, to the Cascades hotel. Not a big deal, not a big price, but we felt let down after our week stay at the hotel. We had many nice experiences, massages, meals, use of the fitness and pool, yoga classes, the Mallard lounge, and we had a guest up for two nights for whom we rented another room for the two nights- so 8 nights room purchase ; BUT, our last memory of our stay at the Chateau Whistler Fairmont is that no one could take us on a five minute ride over to the Cascades to pick up our rental car.

We strive to offer outstanding service with a genuine spirit of warm hospitality, and your feedback greatly assists us in achieving this goal. Our aim is to not only to meet your expectations but consistently exceed them. Although I am thrilled we were able to achieve our goal in certain areas of your recent stay; it is also clear we failed at departure, subsequently leading to an overall stay experience that was unfortunately tainted and fell short of the first rate standards associated with the Fairmont brand. We firmly believe that we are never too busy to be at our best and as such I am extremely disappointed to learn of the regrettable interaction you had with one of our Front Door Attendants upon your departure. Undoubtedly, the services we offer and the manner in which we communicate with our guests should always symbolize the qualities of the Fairmont brand, as well as the warm and friendly nature associated with the Whistler community. We have confidence in the fact that it is these service qualities that differentiate us from our competitors and is the reason why our guests chose to return to our property. I was saddened to learn this was not the case during your recent visit and I share my embarrassment with our Guest Services Team, who acknowledges the implications you experienced by us failing to provide the high level of service and friendliness expected from both ourselves and our guests. I have also personally followed up with the individuals on shift at the time of your departure to ensure that moving forwards; they are delivering hospitality that is indicative of the Fairmont service philosophy. Dr. Tomkins, as platinum members of the Fairmont President's Club, you and Dr. Kmiecik are amongst our most valued guests and your loyalty does not go unnoticed. Whilst we regrettably cannot change what has happened to create a negative experience, I hope we can create an opportunity to offer a positive one for the future. The accommodations were comfortable and easy but very nice. The staff was extremely helpful especially the concierge. Alan MacDonald was great and extremely helpful with reserving various plans for our family. Our stay was extremely pleasant, the facility was easy for skiing and walking around the village and everyone on staff was helpful and friendly.

« Good enough, could be great »

My family has been in the unique position to experience this property for the past 10 weeks every weekend for the Whistler Ski Club. Our experience has been mostly positive and the hotel has been fine in every sense but it really wouldn't take much to make it exceptional. We use to stay at Four Seasons and though I recognize that this is a different calibre property, simple things such as name recognition, childrens bathrobes every weekend etc make a big difference in feeling that we and our business is welcome. Every weekend, we arrive at around the same time (2pm) and I'm with my husband and 5 year old son. There have only been 2 weekends where a bathrobe was delivered, we often don't receive turndown service and only your Head Bellman recognizes us. Again, none of this is enough to deter us from staying but it's these little things that make the stay exceptional and make us feel valued as customers, especially given than we pay over $1000 a night, and spend quite a lot in the Mallard Lounge every week. Also, it would be nice if you had kids amenities, or even a kids welcome snack upon arrival - again, not a big deal but certainly it's these small touches that help us feel valued.

I wanted to bring something to your attention: there is a sloped ramp into the weight room in the fitness center. As you know, because people are walking to and from the pool in the hallway directly in front of the weight room, the floor tends to be slippery and wet, especially during high traffic times. I think you should look into how to make that particular spot safer because if someone hasn't slipped, fallen and injured themselves, it's only a matter of time before they do. Thanks.

Our nine year old boy loved learning to snowboard by day, and relaxing in the pool drinking milkshakes after. There were plenty of kids around for him to play with, which was great. My wife broke her wrist on the mountain, and the staff was amazingly helpful and thoughtful.
