« Birthday Staycation - Boxing, Spa and Chill Time »

Overall very happy with stay at South P. - except bell staff and front door Bell Staff not very helpful. Also, could not park car near check in so had to go and park first. Which normally is not a problem - however, there was an extremely busy boxing night that night. Had to walk about 10-15min back to check in. So ended up have to get a 2nd bellman to bring up bags. At least my partner was able to stay with bags. If I had been alone I would not have been happy to leave all my bags with bell staff that seemed disinterested. When leaving we took bags out our selves. Unlike Hamilton Princess - South P usually does not have a doorman. Front Desk very positive and helpful. When asked offered me several upgrade options. One bedroom was spacious and immaculate. Love the huge bathroom mirrors and lights. Bed great - sheets comfy. Also views of sound and Hamilton/Somerset. Built in the 70's but does not look dated at all. Rooms feel new. Shower head same as spa. HUGE walk in closet. Room attendant was helpful and asked if there was anything else that we needed. Originally planned for a Birthday weekend - turned to be a boxing event at hotel. Boxing was great and room was a good refuge from having to wait on line to get to the event and also during intermission.. Spa awesome - a group of us had treatments and lunch at spa. LOTS of choices for meals. Pre-booked a late check out but not available on day - not many one/two bedrooms in hotel. Next time will try a Gold level room. Other guests raved about the fabulous service. Overall very happy.

We stayed with you for our 10 year anniversary. We have been to Bermuda many times and this was our first time staying at the Southampton Princess. It was very enjoyable.

« Our favorite hotel in Bermuda »

Had a wonderful time, food and service in the restaurants was excellent. Staff at the front desk, concierge desk, the bellmen and the shuttle drivers were all courteous and helpful. A bit noisy than usual in the room and at breakfast due to Rugby teams. We wished the Ocean Club was open for dinner.

Had issues with the 2 rooms we had one was fixed quickly the other the tub could not be fixed and the paint on the tub that was flaking off. The front desk told us there were no available rooms or paid upgrades but I could book several rooms on Fairmont.com. This is our 2nd stay at the property 1st was great but I’m very unhappy with being lied to. I’ve stayed with Fairmont since I started traveling including the plaza nyc, mayakoba Rivera maya and the savoy London.

« Hotel has lost its luster »

I couldn’t have loved this hotel more in 2007 and was so excited to return. I was sadly so disappointed this trip. The hotel staff was unhelpful across the board. It took 20 minutes to get seated in the restaurant, 30 minutes to get a menu, and then I had to chase down the waiter to order, get silverware and get the check. I was supposed to have a water view but could only see water if I went to my balcony and looked left. My TV didn’t work. The shower was dirty. There were holes in certain parts of the walls. When I asked about purchasing a day pass the next day for the pool, I was told that I needed to have reserved it in advance because it was only for spa guests. I returned the next morning hoping to plead my case and had no trouble getting a pass and was the only person using the pool, steam room or hot tub, making me wonder why the other staffers were so resistant to my buying a pass the night before. I love Bermuda but will not be staying at this hotel again.

Enjoyed the location and size of the room. Front desk staff sent champagne and cake for our anniversary which was really great. Had a great meal at Waterlot, however rest of dining experiences lacked in service. Boundary needs serious attention to service and hostess. When we were there, hostess seemed panicked and our waiter was more interested in serving the rugby team then us. Waited over an hour for food as team who came after us was given top priority. Pool could have been cleaned better too.

We were in in room 3357(I think) which had an attached door. The people in the other room had the TV very loud and spoke very loud. That kept us up late Thursday night and to be woken up at 5:15am again. I did meet the couple and admitted to be hard of hearing. I went down to the desk and asked to be switched to another room for the following 2 nights. They told me there were no other rooms available. I asked them to please find me another room which they did but the person helping me was annoyed at my request. Secondly, the held a boxing match on the 1st floor Saturday night which was loud and very crowded. I was not impressed overall for a Fairmont Hotel. You have other locations that are much nicer.

The grounds and room was beautiful. I was fine up until the first night. we woke up in the middle of the night to two huge roaches. Management did comp our airport shuttle, but i still think more could have been done to make us feel better about the situation.

We had come to stay at the Fairmont because there was a boxing fight at the hotel and we didn't want to drive home at the end of the night. Our accommodations were great, in a nicely renovated room. However, parking was chaotic and trying to eat dinner at one of the restaurants was impossible. The room rate was fairly expensive considering that peak season is over, but the hotel is worth staying at for a vacation or stay-cation

The hotel is clean and comfortably designed. That was a positive. We had a lovely time at the beautiful beach. In terms of the negatives: The restaurants offered little for us to eat, as we are vegan, and what we did order was not worth the price. The biggest problem was that items in our room were broken. The TV was not working the first night and after two calls, it was repaired. A clock that I asked 5 different staff people (concierge, cleaning staff) over 3 days to replace or repair was never taken care of. Since I do not use a cell phone, I had no time piece at all when I was in our room.

« Expensive but worth it. »

We had two rooms and a suite on the Gold floor. Service was excellent. Food offerings were just average. All food and drink are expensive but the new sports bar prices are ridiculous! The family platter of bbq cost $90 and consisted of a half rack of ribs, one slice of brisket and a tiny scoop of pulled pork. Very expensive and NOT worth it.

Hotel was beautiful. Beautiful grounds and beach! An issue we had was 3 of 6 morning with our do not disturb sign out housekeeping still proceeded to knock and wake us up. Even more troublesome we came back from the beach and our bedroom door was not closed - out room was cleaned but they never shut the door. That was extremely troublesome!! One morning at breakfast we got coffee and no one ever came back so we gave up waiting for our menu and got the buffet which had no bacon no sausage and no potatoes out. Another morning waiter came to take order I ordered then he took menu and walked away. Never asked my husband. So I had to follow him to tell him he never asked my husband what he wanted.

« Nice hotel »

Nice hotel. But waited 2+ hours for room and hotel was only half full The resort fee was ridiculous. Why isn’t the full price quoted including this fee? Not classy But the housekeeping gratuity of $22 was downright a ripoff. I would never tip $88 for four nights. You are passing down to us the cost of paying your maids. I’ve never seen that before except a cruise ship where you at least get great attention. Very annoying

« It was great to be back! »

Coming back to the hotel after many years for a business trip was great. Must say that the hotel did not change much in a decade and retained the atmosphere it had a decade ago. Friendly and professional staff all around, great room. I do expect that Fairmont will have to consider updating the product to stay competitive.

Saw and offered to share a picture of the roach in our shower. Front desk offered an exterminator but given other issues during our stay - would have hoped for a more calibrated response.
