We were delighted with the breakfast selections and time. Tea, hors d'oeuvre and dessert times should be extended. It would be very helpful to have a "grab bar" in the tub. Our bed definitely needs to be replaced. There was a "hill" in the middle of the bed and one could sink into the window side of the bed. From a hole to a hill to get to the other side of the bed. Hard to recommend this room to clients.

« The staff is terrrifc but the building is tired. »

We have stayed here 30 or 40 times in the past 10 years. The building has significant deferred maintenance and looks worn with ceiling stains faded curtains etc. I was very disappointed to see the hotel staff tolerate multiple adult men and women in the hotel lobby in bathing suits. No coverups, the men were not wearing shirts or shoes. I also observed several shirtless and shoeless men in the Jasmine bar. I am usually at the hotel for business and understand it is a resort destination but I will be using this location as a last resort. You have a superior staff. Much better than the Fairmont Hamilton or Tucker Point. Your service is excellent but not enough to overcome bare bellies and hairy backs sitting on the bar stool next to me.

Nice but I'll say this: Given the occupancy (the hotel was empty), why not give some free room upgrades? I asked and they said no. Also, disappointed that the beach area closed so early and the sports bar serves NO food after 10PM. Surely you could have some snacks available later into the evening. It's obviously off season but made the stay less than fun. Outside of those comments, the hotel was clean, service was great, and beautiful surroundings!

My whole family was there - 2 adults/ 2 kids. Played all the games - pool, ping-pong and fuseball - the kids loved it. My husband and I finally had some quality time with the kids without interruptions. Meals were great. We felt like locals at first. Our room wasn't completely finished. TV table had been pulled away from the wall and not put back. TV unplugged. Had only 3 towels with 4 people in the room. When calling, concierge, housekeeping, nor front desk answered. How strange. Walked down to ask for a fourth towel. When the person brought it up, the towel was so thin I could see through it. It wasn't plush like the others. Other little things happened but overall, we were just glad to be together enjoying the hotel.

Dear Mr. MacDonald - Overall quite a nice stay for our Scuba trip visit - Nice property on a beautiful island - Food was excellent in all four venues on the property - Windows on the Sound, Jasmine Lounge, Mediterra, Boundary Sports Bar - Improvement #1 - Outdoor pool staff hid for most of the hour instead of roaming the pool area every 10 minutes. We named it, "The Changing of the Guard on the Half Hour" since we only saw the young ladies every 30 minutes! Twice, I entered the service door to enter my beverage order since there was no service at the poolside. - Improvement #2 - Outdoor pool had two, 12 inch long, unpainted sections on the pool floor. You can't be a Fairmont brand and have ugly gashes on your pool floor. - Improvement #3 - On our last day, your staff washed the pool deck with an electric scrubber from 10 - 11 AM. Why is your staff doing any pool maintenance during customer hours? This should be done at 10 PM or 5 AM! - Improvement #4 - We placed a cocktail glass outside our door for staff pickup. It sat there for 3 mornings. Obviously your housekeeping staff member did not think it her job to return it to the kitchen. Also, you seem to have no staff tours of your property to pickup used food and beverage cups and plates outside rooms. I explained this to Mr. Wouter Aarts and suggested this cheapened the Fairmont brand.

Something has changed. No robes in room. Room 2277 very musty smelling with black mold/mildew in bathroom along seams of wall/ceiling and other areas. Provided a room on low floor, poorest quality/location (in the 6 years I have been coming). No more Dark and Stormy/Welcome, and package at arrival with materials about changes and complimentary beverage at Jasmine NOT delivered upon arrival (to me or most other members of our function group). When asked upon check out, no apology, no offer to do anything - perhaps remove a room charge for a beverage purchased at Jasmine upon arrival? Staff, for the most part were friendly. Front Desk staff were not exceptional.

The hotel has vintage charm and appeal. The balcony furniture needs upgrading, as it looked worn and dirty. Additionally, coffee was spilled on our balcony prior to arrival, so we could not use it the first day we arrived.

Lovely hotel and grounds, loved the shuttle bus and ferry. Beach and facilities were excellent. Hotel ambience was nice, room was good too. Restaurants were all good, especially Mediterra and Jasmine. Easy to get around the premises and the hotel's location in relation to getting around the island is great. Aircon was too cold in the restaurants and breakfast room. There were a few too many cockroaches in the room for our liking, and we didn't rate the in room coffee facilities unappetising. An observation throughout the hotel and Bermuda generally is the disappointing reliance on single use plastics. It would be great to see Fairmont leading the way in sustainable, recyclable products in the rooms and on the beach, where we sometimes saw straws, cups and water bottles items sticking out of the otherwise fabulous beach. Guests should be reminded about their environmental responsibilities!
