One night . Room was def not as described . The agent said panoramic views which was totally not true . The sink and water smelled like sewage! We didn’t brush our teeth in that sink . I think it was dirty down the drain . So gross . Every person working there were so nice and the food was good .

« What was that strange smell by the pool? »

There was a very bad, sewer-like smell in the vicinity of the pool on all 3 days of my stay. It made using the pool facilities very unpleasant. Housekeeping each day was badly delayed, after 5 pm both days.

My trip was a little raucous as the hotel was hosting a large private party on July 29. Fortunately my room was looking towards the North so I was spared the noise. Otherwise it could have been problematic.

« Worst hotel experience »

Terrible room - ugly, outdated, AC was broken (we were so hot in the room two nights in a row), sink backed up, room was not serviced. For the price we paid I expected a much better experience. Very disappointed. couldn't get a seat at the pool, restaurant was extremely slow Employees were very nice though and helpful.

We had a delayed check-in but front desk very kindly paid for our lunch poolside. Room not to usual Fairmont Standard of comfort/ambience (not a patch on Southampton Princess Bermuda) Pool small with Sun Loungers cramped-in around it. Breakfast superb. Location very good.

Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a Tower suite. While it was getting ready we were treated to complementary mimosas. Room was beautiful will stunning views. Service was suburb and want to give special shout out to Mark at the Lobby Bar for exceptional breakfast service every morning which may have included a couple complementary mimosas. Would love to come back and maybe next time enjoy the Bungalows. Fantastic weekend with the hubby!

Everything was ok, it was not exceptional. The tub did not drain, the mini bar was not restocked, just a bunch of little things that I would expect to be addressed for such a premium price.

We enjoyed the quick weekend getaway with friends. We waited a bit longer than we would have liked for breakfast on Saturday as well as seats by the pool but we still managed to have a wonderful time.

The service, in general, was outstanding. Garrick, who checked us in was wonderful and very helpful. We had breakfast, some dinners, and drinks in the bar area (not in the restaurant) and the service and food were terrific. The service in the pool area was also terrific. In general, we were very, very satisfied. However, there are two areas that could have been better. We tried to eat breakfasts, etc. in the restaurant, but were always told that there were not tables available or that there would be long waits, even when we had a reservation and even when many tables were open. We found the attitude of the individuals at the front desk area there to be disingenuous at best. So, we just went around to the non-restaurant bar area and were always seated and served promptly, from the same kitchen (!); hard to understand. In addition, we thought that there would be chairs, umbrellas, etc. at the beach on a daily basis and were disappointed to discover that this only happened on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It would have been much better if this were a daily offering. Despite this two, relatively minor concerns, we found everything else to be just great and hope to be back.

Loved staying with you, but the dining experiences I had other than my last morning breakfast were not great. Food was good, but service was lacking. I already mentioned to the front desk staff during my stay.

« Santa Monica relaxation at its best! »

The bungalows at the Miramar are my favorite places to stay in Santa Monica. From valet welcome to housekeeping greetings, the staff at the Miramar make me feel special and valued. I especially love running into Juanita, Anthony, Lupe, Mark, and Jordan in the Lobby Lounge and patio. Sitting outside enjoying a glass of Rosé by the koi pond under the Santa Monica sun with these incredible staff making life very comfortable is what brings me back time and again. The only thing that beats the relaxing comfort of a patio bungalow is the exemplary staff under the leadership of Mr. Lehman. Keep this up and l’ll keep coming back.

« Great experience but disappointed by the beach club system »

The property is very nice, we were slightly surprised by the size of the pool as it is smaller than what the picture show but the resort is so nice it didn’t bother us. Our room was impeccable and very comfortable and the only flaw was the shower pressure that was very weak. The biggest strenght of the hotel was the service that was impeccable and how nice the staff is. Our arrival was very well taken care of. However, we arrived on a tuesday and throughout the stay asked questions avout the beach but noone ever told us we needed to book to have access to the beach club service! On friday we discovered it and were told they were sold out for friday saturday! That was very disappointing and not right. It should be mentioned at checkin or theough room litterature ir through the concierge at some point!! The worst is that we went to the beach with no service or chair but didn’t see anyone sitting on the hotel’s chairs but were told they were “reserved”! The beach club is really the only reason i am not ranking my experience as a 10!

Front desk service great(Mark). Had to come to Southern California unexpectedly. Ritz was a little further south than I wanted to be on such short notice. Callled Fairmont, got me in. It was my first stay at the Fairmont Santa Monica.

« Nice stay in a nice location »

Room was nice and as described, Omar at the front door was a fantastic employee and represents the hotel very well. Restaurant was excellent and enjoyed three meals there. Disappointed that the late checkout of 4pm was no longer available to platinum members and no apparent interest from front desk staff to try and find a solution. Its a small item but after receiving personalized welcome cards at other fairmont properties the lack of such a card was disappointing.
