At check in, I would have loved more information. I was arriving late, for the conference, it would have been nice to have the front desk share information with me proactively. It was also my first time staying with you, so I would have loved more basic info about the property - like where the gym is. The check in person also asked if I wanted a paper - I said yes to the FT - but I never got a paper for either of my two days there. If you're not going to do it, don't ask guests about it.

« A great one night stay, employees made it special. »

We stayed just for a night, mainly to use our Fairmont rewards (suite upgrade, dining credits, etc.) we were unable to use during the year. I was amazed by the level of service, literally every employee we interacted with was extremely pleasant, from the reservation agent, bellman, room service, waiter at Fig, etc. When we entered the room, they spelled out our son's name with sponges and had a stuffed animal for him. The room was great, Fig was awesome and we happened to go during their happy hour, which can't be beat (50% off from 5-6). Hotel is in a great location, walking distance to 3rd Street Promenade and the pier.

« Pleasant but I had higher expectations »

Everything was great specially the guys at the valet, the only area that needs improvement is at the bar. The waiters don’t go and take your order unless you call them and the only other thing that went wrong was the door of my room that stopped working the last day.

Appalling . I was put in a room overlooking the club with very loud music that was not blocked out by earplugs. At midnight I had to get dressed, repack and go to a different room. My request for a late checkout was rejected despite having platinum status. I was told the manager would speak to me but I was not contacted. I was also told a reduction on the rate may be appropriate but was not given that either.

« Less than expected regardign service, communication and accomodations. »

My experience with the front desk was less than I would expect. My flight arrived late and I was not given clear instruction about how too get to my room which was the second set of elevators. I carried heavy luggage back and forth. My room was on the second floor, right next to a private home and honestly, it was not a great view. I realize I was part of a group but your hotel was not sold out and you could certainly have done better. During my stay I asked for a late check out and i was told in a rather curt manner that i would need to call the morning I was checking out to see if they could give me a late check out. I explained that I had a meeting at 7:30 am so that really would not help me if i had to be packed and ready to go. The woman then said, oh just call in the morning. This was just not helpful.

« Great bungalow room, great breakfast, spotty valet and room service »

The bungalow room was great and exactly met our needs--there was some noise from the neighboring room the first night, but it was quiet on subsequent nights. Food and service (at the bar) for the included breakfast was also excellent. Our only complaints are two service incidents: When we arrived, we had to ask someone to help with our bags--several folks were standing there just looking at us without offering to help, and they seemed put off when they helped us. We also asked for additional towels one afternoon, and it took over an hour to get them, despite multiple phone calls, making us late for a dinner reservation.

Thought the food was excellent in the Fig restaurant and ate there several times. Very unhappy that they have a resort fee of $30.00 or so and yet do not include parking. Park is an additional $50.00 per day plus tax. Rooms in Palisades section are nice but not exciting. The staff were so friendly and efficient. Great location in Santa Monica.

« Excellent service. Inadequate room. »

The service from all the employees is first rate. The room left a lot to be desired. The worst is that the safety of the room was faulty. The deadbolt lock did not work. Also, the furniture was uncomfortable to say the least.

I would like to say the room decoration is a little bit old. It will be great if there is a light swith on the nightstand controlling all lights in the room so that I didn't need to get up again before fall sleep.
