Not satisfied at all , the room was noisy and small in size . The hotel did not offer good alternatives.

It was very nice. The room was nice and comfortable with the exception of the pull-out bed that was not very comfortable. Luckily, the roll-away beds were a fine solution.

« Lovely stay in a great location with a couple of minor gripes »

Welcome from the moment we pulled up with excellent staff. Valet parking was expensive. Iron burns on the bedroom carpet and scratches on the dressing table surface (room 821) were disappointing in an otherwise lovely high quality establishment. An issue with the bill on check out was resolved eventually but being charged for a room which was pre paid through British Airways was disconcerting.

The room felt old and un-renovated. It was not the level of Fairmont I am used to since I stay in the Shanghai property all the time. Also the front desk staff was rude and did not follow up with an upgraded room.

Every aspect of my stay was flawless! My room was clean, comfortable, and luxurious. The staff were warm, friendly, and anticipated my questions. This is my favorite hotel to stay at when traveling for business or pleasure!

« Lots of confusion »

The hotel is fine. I ran into trouble as I had an "Ocean View" room and when I arrived they said they would "Upgrade" me to a bungalow which was a really loud, dark, no view room by the bar. I went back and changed that to a fine room. I did the quick check-out on my phone but never got an invoice so I had to call to track one down. When I saw that I think the rate was wrong because I didn't get the Group rate through Dimensional, I was told I had to call the company that booked it who would have to call the sales department, etc, etc, etc...

We definitely enjoyed our stay. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was great Room not ready at check in...after an 11hour flight and landing in 36 degrees C, that wasn't a good start. Happened last year too, but at least we were given a voucher to enjoy a complementary drink. Small things like this make a difference. Room not made up on 2 days - we have to phone down to get it done Concierge service (Ryan) was terrific...as was Frances

« Beautiful hotel, disinterested staff. »

This is one of the nicest Fairmont's in the US. The location is perfect, walkable to lots of great restaurants. It really evokes old Hollywood glam of days gone by. It is not however up to par on the service side of things. I expect friendly, helpful staff. Instead they were disinterested and sometimes rude. I've been home for over a week and there is still a hold on my credit card they refuse to remove. Looked like a Fairmont but didn't feel like one. Hopefully they fix the problem.

Actually my rating would be 8 1/2 to 9. I still very much enjoy coming to the Miramar. I have been coming there since 1995. The staff (valet, greeter, concierge, front desk, maid service, sales and marketing) and it's hospitality remains one of your biggest selling point. The rooms have been kept updated and remain a pleasure to stay in. The gym is great. And of course thankfully the tree remains healthy and well kept. However frankly the miramar always was a quiet, peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle & bustle of a work trip, or the third street promenade.. or the pier.. etc. perhaps it's the challenges of the industry that have caused this to change a bit. However the bar or what you call the bungalows can be can spoil the image I had about the Miramar. Your entrance driveway was always such a pleasure to come into and I noticed during this stay I usually enter the hotel from one of the side doors. The lobby and its bar area had always a sense of elegance and relaxation.. I find it now resembles a W hotel more than a Fairmont. I only spent only one afternoon, our first, having a drink there. I used to always have a late afternoon or early evening cocktail there before going out. Again, perhaps this is the necessary environment you must have to compete but I prefer the quiet and elegance of the past. The bikes are a great amenity but I miss the phones of old Hollywood in the side hallway. As someone who travels quite often and stays at a lot of hotels I suggest you take great care on your greatest assets. It seems like you are with one of them; the staff. They remain friendly and helpful. They appear to be a happy work staff. Well done. But your entrance.:.. there are not many entry driveways like yours and I feel closing it'd or a hip, loud and money making bar scene under the tranquility of one of the most iconic trees cannot be good for a brand and image that has been made and protected for decades. I enjoyed my stay at the Miramar as I have done many times in the past. However during my stay i thought "but what will it be like here the next time i come" AND for the first time ever I thought that perhaps I should at least think about staying somewhere else the next time I visit Los angles for work or fun. The Miramar is a special hotel. It really is. I hope it remains so.

« Great Birthday Staycation »

For my partners birthday he originally were going away but changed our minds last minute to stay in town. So, being an interior designer, I heard the bungalows at The Fairmont were recently renovated by Michael Berman so we made a last minute reservation for a bungalow with patio for the weekend. On a Friday afternoon we went from home to being warmly welcomed and checked into Bungalow 23 where a slice of birthday cake, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waited for us. And our dog Arrow also got pampered with a big comfy dog bed, water, bowls and treats. The room had a great California beachy vibe and felt like, well like a beach bungalow. Our room was so convenient for taking the pup out. We never had to walk through the lobby and our key cards got us in and out of a side entrance with no problem. Staff was wonderful and service was amazing from the Fig restaurant to the lobby bar, from the front desk to room service. We highly recommend a bungalow if space, privacy and convenience is important to you. We would stay here again for another staycation.

Hi there, We had a few things: - housekeeping does not stack up the room with qtips, robes etc (they rather keep taking them) - yesterday we went to Universal and came home late with super tired kids and then our son’s bed was gone, so he had to stay up for an hour to have that fixed - housekeeping is very slow, eg when our keys didn’t work when we first came we had to wait for ages for someone to come On the plus side: room service and the concierge have been great.

« TOO NOISY! »

Although the location of the hotel and it's common area are excellent, the noise in the Palisades tower re: the side street was extreme. The room was large, but not comfortable in terms of the location of the windows and the decoration was very sparse. Overall, the cost was not be equal to the accommodations. PS The staff was wonderful and the restaurant FIG was delightful.

« I have stayed several times at the Fairmont and am disappointed at the lack of consistency. »

I stayed in Bungalow 14. At the end of the first night, I noticed my feet were BLACKENED on the soles. I took a towel and wiped the floor and the towel was BLACK. I was completely disgusted. Also, the area rugs in the rooms were damp/moist from the humidity and they never dried out. The wifi was frustrating and spotty the entire stay. Unlike my stay before in Bungalow 1, I was extremely unhappy.

Was happy until check out. I had received message on phone to talk to front desk on the day of my daughters wedding. I went down the next morning to find out what message was about and to check out. Went up to him and said I had a message and I would like to check out he said we have no message for you. I said”ok” than I would like to check out to which he walked away like I wasn’t even there talking.I tell other wedding guest who was checking Out did you see that and she says yes so rude. He than walks back up and I say I would like to see charges which he basically threw at me. Otherwise we had a wonderful time. Beds are outstanding.
