« Hotel was beautiful and staff was very polite. »

I stayed over night after a dinner banquet event, specifically to visit the Tonga Room which I had never visited before. Unfortunately there was some sort of police action going on and the SFPD were turning people away so I never got to experience the Tonga Room.

« Grateful to have stayed at least one night at this majestic gem of this historic hotel in the heart of San Francisco. »

I was pleased that I was able to make a reservation on such short notice and that the room I booked was available at a reasonable price. When I arrived from the airport, the bellman was nice enough to take a quick photo of me and my friend (who was visiting from Japan) before we entered the hotel. Upon entry, I loved seeing the bouquets of sunflowers which beautifully accented the lobby. Our room (two queens) was not ready at the time we arrived, so we left our bags with the concierge and went to Pier 39 via Lyft to get a quick bite to eat. No sooner than we left, our room was ready, but we didn’t come back to the hotel until a couple of hours later. The room was gorgeous and spacious. We only had to call the front desk once for slippers my friend requested. I’ll have to come back again to get the full experience though. We had an event to go to that was an hour away, so I really didn’t get to fully appreciate all that your hotel had to offer. I did stop by the gift shop to purchase some toiletries and water though. The staff was very professional and helpful. No complaints here.

Beautiful view we upgraded to a suite but I found that it was just a better view. I think ... The room service was cold. The bartender was very polite and French onion soup was delicious. I was slightly upset with the lack of door on the toilet area.

We had a change in plans in our arrival. I called 8 hours before our planned arrival with the updated time, 3 hours before the original time. When we checked in, desk clerk was very firm about room not being ready until the original time. I understand that, but no information regarding luggage storage, restroom location, suggestions on what to do while we waited, were given. We had to initiate that all on our own. Also I wanted an item on the minibar menu that was out of stock in our room and we were charged room service rates for the item to be replaced. That was unexpected. Also no bath robes in the room. Overall the hotel is pretty and nice, but there are no special touches or service level I expected. Would stay at another higher end hotel on our next trip to San Francisco.

All of the Fairmont staff (from valet, to front desk, to room service) were warm, friendly, and completely focused on customer service in an authentic way! We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday and it was a memorable experience.

I was very excited to stay at the Fairmont for the Perrin Conference -- I've been visiting for years, but never had the opportunity. What a let down. I had a 6th floor room closest to the elevator looking out of a view of a gray, drab, equipment littered interior courtyard. It was a small room with a queen-sized bed. "OK" I said, not every room can be perfect, and this is an historic hotel. I changed from my travel clothes into my business attire. There was no laundry bag in the closet. Even Motel 6's have laundry bags. No matter, I used a bag from the conference. I was excited to receive a text message from the concierge. What a great idea! First they tried sending me to a closed business, then a business off site, and finally, when I focused in on my request, they ignored me until the next day. A two second conversation with the bellhop solved the problem. Lesson learned. My first and last names were switched in the reservation -- my fault since my reservation was completed online. However, the front desk couldn't change it? I was to call the Accor Hotels hotline and they could possibly change it there. I travel for business at hotels up and down the price ranges. This was middling in quality, top tier in looks. All show and no go. The Intercontinental across the street was the same quality, but 3/4 of the price. I'll stay there next time and walk over to my conference.

Short business trip to San Francisco. Fed up of modern 'hipster' hotels so decided to book into one of the old classics. This put a spring in my step each morning after a wonderful nights sleep. Everything was catered of in the upmost professionalism and luxury. My wife was very jealous when I told her about my stay.

We loved our short stay at the Fairmont to end our vacation after seven weeks of travelling around Europe & Scandinavia Canada. The rooms were a good size, comfortable beds. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely return on our next trip to San Francisco

« Get Rid of Destination Fee »

The hotel is lovely and the room was very nice. The staff we encountered were professional and courteous. Your bar does not have the atmosphere we were looking for at all - it feels like you are sitting in a breakfast room. We prefer a cozy, clubby feel. We went elsewhere. The destination fee is a deal breaker. Just charge me $25 more for the room and don't tell me what it's for. When you pay high end prices, you expect the gym and the internet to be included. Since the Destination Fee is mandatory, just include it in the room price. Please provide a newspaper on the weekends. There was absolutely no palpable benefit to being an Accor member. "Free" bottles of water in the rooms would be lovely. You all do nothing to make us feel special in any way.
