Though we had a wonderful time I would suggest bringing in an ergonomics expert for the little things, that really could enhance a person's comfort. I travel a lot and I am always amazed that hotel management groups nearly always overlook the most obvious mistake that prevent people from feeling comfortable. For example, I'd ditch the lighting switches and put something more simple to operate. Those closet lights are really screwed up and we could never figure out how to turn them off as they seemed to operate on a sensory switch....Ridiculously annoying! And then real small stuff were things that could easily be improved. For example the tiny coffee cups drove me crazy. For the price of that room I would put a nice size set of coffee cups in them. Also check how poorly(ergonomically speaking) the arrangement of the utensil drawers are laid out. No big deal but just not well planned or laid out! Finally and most importantly, the horrible TV and stereo system. Just go in there and try to turn either one of those on. This drives people crazy. If it were me I would ALWAYS place a directory of channels to help the guest from wasting time trying to figure out how to get a channel. It was so bad that I had to call for help and then it took two of your employees to figure it out.....DITCH IT AND GET A NEW SYSTEM! Same with operating the microwave. Simplicity should be high on your list of making your guest comfortable. However, these were small matters(but nonetheless very annoying) and overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the great people on your staff. Would highly recommend.

Our stay was awesome thanks to the staff. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, professional and helpful. We needed to use extra refrigeration- no problem- we needed extra chairs- no problem needed reservations for twelve on a Friday night — a wee bit of a problem but it was handled! I didn’t care for the view and the daily early morning noise in our unit. I’ve stayed before and preferred the unit I stayed in. However, I hope to be back. Thanks for everything

« Check-in was a little rough (parking), but the facility and it's staff is superior. »

We were first-time guests and the parking was very confusing. Reception staff said they would check into how to help us. After ten minutes or so waiting in our room, we decided to go back to the public garage (where we parked) and bring our car and luggage to the valet at the door. Staff eventually said they would send someone for our car and belongings for us, but of course we took care of it ourselves. After this inconvenience, we had a great stay. The room (suite) was very satisfactory and our stay was enjoyable.

Unit 116 backs up to the laundry room or some other heavely used service room. From 3:30 in the morning and all day long employees are going in and out of that room with a rolling cart. It’s at the head of the master bedroom bed.

This was a first-class residence with a wonderful view overlooking the beach at the maritime museum. The concierge, Paula, was extremely helpful with anything we asked about or for. The only reason I didn't give a 10 rating was because on our last night there was a heavy rain and water came pouring into the bedroom from above one of the windows.

The residence was well appointed and maintained with great views of Alcatraz and the Bay. Bed was very comfortable. The hotel is away from the busier shoreline areas but evenings could be noisy from Ghirardelli Square. Staff helpful and friendly.

« Great location, met out needs »

Overall, we were very comfortable at the hotel. First night was not good as the bed frame in 209 was broken and the mattress sagged horribly resulting in a bad night's sleep (after travelling all day from Florida and arriving exhausted after 11pm). We resolved the bed issue the next day and slept fine after that. The hotel's location suited us perfectly. The staff were very polite and helpful. The room was very clean. The breakfast was OK, but the same thing every day - a bit more variety in the fruit/muffins/pastries would have been nice.

« not what i expected »

We recently stayed at the Fairmont Heritage and our experience was bleh to say the least. Not notable, not remarkable...just a roof over our head. The room had a distinct and unusual odor. Our room was never cleaned properly. When we returned from the day out our beds were made but the pillow shams remained on the floor and decorative pillows as well. The sheets were simply straightened out on the bed, similar to how my 7 year old makes her bed. The trash bins were not emptied regularly during the morning housecleaning or turn down service. Additionally, the service at the front door and downstairs was not amazing. On occasion people would greet us on our return from being out but most times the bellman and valet were so involved with their phone or own conversation among each other that they couldn't be bothered. This hotel was not one i'd run back to.
