I am very pleased with the fairmont mayakoba. I highly recommend this hotel for families looking to spend time with children of all ages. My 19 month old son loved the pool areas. I however would hope the hotel would consider adding a covered pool area/ shaded for small children. Even though the beach area was under construction it was beautiful. I do recommend increasing the amount of staff for beach service to improve service. The hotel room was always well maintained and staff was very nice and eagerd to please. Thank you fairmont mayakoba & staff for great service.

« Wonderful Top Notch Experience »

A great 6 nights! Alberto was super, always checking in with us. There should be more shuttles - there should be more bikes and should be able to take bikes throughout entire Mayakoba property... can't even ride them to golf course or other hotels. Would be nice to eat at the other hotels under the all-inclusive.

My whole staying was great, the staff was great and the whole resort too. I only had a upsetting situation with the car rental there (Budget), I was advised by the front desk to rent a car so I did , At 11 at night I rented a car and got charged instantly on my card, but was told next morning at 10 am that I needed to leave certain amount as guarantee, and that wasn't in my plans so I asked if I could cancel and be refunded, both the clerk there and the customer assistant on the phone confirmed I was indeed intitled to a full refund. That never happen.

Hotel was great and loved the property and staff was extremely friendly and service conscious. Food was great at the restaurants. The following are 3 recommendations to make things better: 1) With part of the beach closed during part of the stay there was one day when couldn't get an umbrella at either the beach or or the pool near the beach which was frustrating. The area near the beach just needs some extra umbrellas and it would have been much better. 2) The bikes are a lot of fun and a great way to get around as alternative to the golf carts. But there were many times when none were available. It would be a much better experience if there were some more bikes available. 3) The resort could use a little bit of music in the evenings to liven things up a little. 4) I had plans to purchase some spa services. It is understandable that resort spa rates are higher than normal and I was prepared to pay for this, but I found them so overpriced that we were turned off and chose not to do any.

Hotel overall is wonderful, rooms are great, staff was amazing, and the pools and grounds were kept up in perfect condition. Food was good, not great and maybe some more activities for kids would be helpful.

« Beach under construction - do not stay for now »

The stay was ok.. the room was fine... but the beach is in shambles. We were offered a discount towards our NEXT stay .. but they should have taken better care of THIS stay! The beachside pool needs attention and the restaurant by the beach is not pleasant since you're overlooking the construction. The ambiance was quiet and somber... not a happy feel throughout.

The superb facilities seamlessly blend with the beautiful natural surroundings. The staff was very friendly. The overall atmosphere is upscale without been stuffy. Would certainly go back and stay at the Fairmont Matskoba again.

Our first family vacation was absolutely amazing. We were highly impressed with the warm and generous staff at every point of our trip. The rooms and resort itself was a very beautiful, well kept, and exquisite atmosphere. We will definitely be back soon.

« Beautiful nature resort »

I though the development was beautiful and tastefully in simbiose with nature. The staff was of the upmost attentive but not intrusive. I was spoiled with an upgrade that I very much appreciated and gave me the taste to go back to the same accommodation casita signature. I had booked at a very very good rate for a standard room but now I would go back to the same accommodation as it was so worth it. The privacy was wonderful and view over the lagoon and golf exquisite. The wifi is amazing. Loved the way to the beach through mangrove particularly when I could get hold of a bike. I did a few runs around the Mayakoba resort which is beautiful and the nature trail is great for run. Lots of animals and birds. Volveré ! Con mi familia

Service was poor I wanted to thank you so much for our reservation we always love staying at your resort , thank you so much for fulfilling my request of 4404. July 1st -I wanted to bring something to your attention regarding the service at Las Brisas Restaurant outside bar. On the evening we arrived we decided to check out the the restaurant and bar , when we arrived we noticed one gentlemen seating at the bar was loud and apparently intoxicated , it was apparent so much that he could not stand up straight , your bar staff kept on giving him alcohol , on top of the beer bucket he had ordered , the person said a few intoxicated words to me and my fiancé , we ignored him , about 30 minutes into having our drinks the same person starts to Vomit Heavy out of his nose and mouth . This is not acceptable behavior anywhere , at some point your bar staff should have cut him off , which I will say your bar service they are very nice guys , but to the point where they have to be more responsible for the guest and there safety . July 3rd -we decide enjoy Las Brisas agin , we walk into the bar area agin and we could not believe it two more two gentleman and a lady loud , drink and unacceptable behavior , to the point where the drunk gentlemen started screaming at his wife , threatening her , as more drinks were being served , this went on for a while , and once agin they started yelling at each other and both left the bar after a long fight , all as children are around other families are around and shocked by these drunk people , one of the gentlemen was so drunk that he could barley stand , his family showed up to find there drunk dad leaning on the bar . Once agin we love your hotel , but service sometimes means responsibility for the guest safety at every level , didn't happen ! As well as the experience of other guest it should be always making sure people are enjoying themselves . These two incidents were unacceptable and you should investigate why it's happening , we are all here to have a good time but when some others don't have common sense , service staff should step into making the correct decisions for safety and wellbeing.

« Great, prices for food and cockroach in restaurant la laguna »

Everybody was incredible, perfect service except in restaurant la laguna there was a cockroach and the personal does not put it attaencion i reuqest 3 times to the waiters if they can find the insct and moved to another area we were on the restaurant, and the prices in USD when the hotel is in Mexico, the quality on the food it was not agreed with the prices.

I visited for one week in July, 2017 with my husband and 13 year old daughter. Our suite was beautiful and was located close to the main pool which was very convenient. The pool was beautiful and we enjoyed spending time there each day. We visited the beach and took advantage of the sailing, paddle board lesson and other equipment available for our enjoyment. The pool and beach attendants couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. The transportation throughout the resort was frequent and convenient but walking or biking to the different areas of the resort was also nice. We ate at all of the restaurants onsite and each was excellent. We caught fish in Puerto Aventuras and the chefs at La Laguna prepared them for us for dinner and lunch the following day and all preparations were outstanding. Our daughter was sick one evening so my husband and I took turns dining at the restaurant by the beach. When I arrived at the restaurant after my husband had returned from dining there, the hostess relayed a message to me from my husband that he loved me and to enjoy my dinner. The restaurant manager came over to my table where I was dining alone and chatted for a few minutes and expressed concern that my daughter was sick and mentioned that she saw my husband there earlier. My waiter told me that he had waited on my husband earlier and that my husband sat at the same table as I was seated at. Shortly after we booked our trip, we contacted the hotel to arrange for a pair of crutches to be available for my husband who wears a prosthetic but prefers to use crutches when going to the pool or beach. We also notified the hotel that we were celebrating our daughter's bat mitzvah as well as her graduation from 8th grade, and were also celebrating my husband's birthday which was a couple weeks before our trip. When we arrived, the crutches were waiting for us and Ulises in Concierge asked us when we would like a surprise for our daughter to be delivered. When we dined at El Puerto, a special dessert was provided with a message in chocolate congratulating her. When we returned to the room that night, there were balloons and congratulations written in flower petals on our daughter's bed. On the last night of our stay, my husband received a card and tequila from Ulises for his birthday. I must also mention a few other employees who were so wonderful-Paola at La Laguna arranged for everything with the chefs to prepare the fish we caught. She left her personal iPhone charger for my daughter to use during lunch even after she went home for the day. Chef Erica and Chef Adrian at La Laguna came out to our table to present and explain their preparations of the fish we had caught. However, everyone with whom we interacted demonstrated the highest levels of customer service and genuine concern for making our experience exceptional. From the golf cart drivers (who, after noticing my husband's prosthetic leg drove us directly to the lobby as opposed to the lower level where they usually park the carts which required going up a staircase to reach the lobby), to the room attendants, the beach and pool servers, the wait staff at all the restaurants, the recreation attendants at the beach, the lifeguards and pool slide attendants, the concierge and bell staff-all couldn't have been any nicer, accommodating, professional and caring. Simply put, the resort is amazing!

Great service, beautiful property, delicious food. Only reasons I gave an 8/10 was due to the beach being closed for reconstruction and 2/4 members of my family getting a stomach bug the last day. Other than that, we had an excellent time. Our favorite parts of the vacation were lounging by the pool at La Laguna, the catamaran ride on the ocean, an excursion to some cenotes that we booked on our own(but the Fairmont staff was great in getting us towels to take and taking the wet ones away when we returned), and the evening spent in Playa del Carmen at a great restaurant recommended by the concierge (Aldea corazon). The service team cleaning our rooms (4120 and 4121) during our stay was fantastic and always replenished the towels, shampoo, etc. My family loved eating by the pools each day for lunch as well as the yummy breakfast buffet each morning. Thanks for a great trip!
