« Nice room and staff but hotel was just too crowded and hard to enjoy amenities »

The room was very nice and the staff was fabulous. However, we could not enjoy a restaurant due to the crowds, same with the lounges. The very worst thing was after a long day we went to the pool to use the hot tub and it was broken. All that money to enjoy the luxury of your hotel and we can't even enjoy the hot tub. I understand it is a tourist attraction but the lobby was difficult to get through. Somehow you need to contain the non-residents to different areas.

« Old time hotel expetience »

Service was great, however the room was not only small ( great view) but had almost no place for our clothes. We visited for 3 days as part of our 6 day trip and drawers were taken up by coffee makers and bolted down food items for purchase . Virtually no seating in lobby.

Stays at several Fairmont properties put this as best for location, but lacking at a 500$ per night price point. Wife had sneezing problems in a "pet free" room. Would choose another old town property next time.

Truly enjoyed revisiting where we spent out honeymoon. We found the staff attentive and friendly. We were a bit disappointed in the cocktail hour in that at the gold level as no complimentary drinks were provided.

Very disappointed in our room - 2nd floor - no view - very very small room - expected a much more beautiful room. We booked it on their website and felt like we got the leftover room.

« The property is beautiful - like a step back in time. »

It was pleasant. Staff was attentive although on our last night, we put our name in for a table at Le Sam. (We had previously dined there for lunch the day before.) We waited at the bar and were told by the hostess that our table would be ready sooner than the 30 minute wait that she initially quoted. However, she never seated us. After waiting for 45 minutes we finally ordered food at the bar. It was disappointing.

« Lovely Hotel. Need Better Room Service »

Hotel is lovely. Great history and architecture surrounding the Frontenac. Front desk and concierge very helpful. But a bit surprise that first room on 4th floor we stayed in (double beds) was consider lower tier but was significantly larger than room we were upgraded to on 11th floor with king size bed. Though latter had a river view it was not as comfortable to move around in as 4th floor room. Also bottle water only given for 1st night. For what the rooms costs I expect fresh bottle water to be available in room every day like at Westins and other Fairmonts we stayed at around the world where this was received along witb turn down service. Notice maid service offering fresh water and chocolates to other rooms on our floor but we did not get same service. Enjoyed the petting the hotel dog. You have a nice hotel but I suggest raising the room service significantly to make visitors feel more welcomed.

Very nice hotel!! We were able to check in early and enjoy the ambiance. The breakfast buffet was well forth the money, very impressive! If you have time, do the Chateau Frontenac tour of the hotel.

My girlfriend and I truly had a wonderful time for our 10th anniversary! We experience the best customer service at a hotel that we've ever encountered. All staff, and we mean all staff at the hotel, greeted us with smiles, were pleasant, efficient, and extremely helpful. Wonderful stay and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic getaway.

« Great hotel. »

We loved the hotel and the location. We did have some problems and when checking out I left a list what the problems were. 1. The door stop attached to the floor for the bathroom was loose and I tried to screw back, it did not work. 2.The entry door was very sticky and I had use my shoulder to open. 3.The toilet after flushing the water was running and did not stop. 4.We stayed two nights and next day after our arrival the tray for the coffee maker was not replaced with clean cups and replenished with fresh supplies. After complaining the housekeeping came back and took care. 5. The pool area needs some upgrading. The shower handle was missing. For the price we paid to get Fairmont Gold was not living up to our expectations. Regardless, we loved your hotel and the city. When we will visit your city in the future, we would like to stay in Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac and hopefully some of the problems that I mentioned will be fixed. Thank you, Bruno S.

« Lovely stay with a few issues and bathrooms are too small. »

We had two rooms which you managed to gt next to each other, thank you. One was for my 85 year old mother. She experienced several issues. The bathroom was very small and difficult for her to use. The shower flooded the floor when she turned it on and the shower curtain was not well placed. Also her in room cock battery died during the last night of our stay thus her alarm did not go off making her late for our departure. The phone ring was not loud enough to wake her as I tried to call and got no answer, she had security locked her door so I could not access with my key that you so nicely enabled for me. SO the end of the experience did not leave a good impression. Also she was unhappy with the food - felt her chicken was under cooked (we at at Sams) and then at breakfast she was unhappy with the waffles as well. We loved the central location and the staff was very helpful.

« Disappointed, expected to be better than Le Westin Montreal and Hotel Quitessence in Mont Tremblant. »

Rooms small, smell, not cleaned up to Fairmont standard, room service mistakes, phone calls not answer promptly, concierge had bad attitudes, front desk checking in was good enough, breakfast buffet was good enough but service was not bad. Checked out was not satisfactory. When I told the clerk that both rooms bills should be paid by my one platinum American Express but the invoices for both rooms must be under my name alone. My young son, james portwood, does not have a credit card to pay. I put reservations on one of the connecting rooms under my son 's name just in case he lost the keys to the room. This request was not done. I emailed and yet still not corrected. I gave up. Next year when I return to Quebec City, I will think twice before booking at your hotel.

« The Great Escape »

Yes it was a great escape! We spent a wonderful stay. We were greeted by Kim who was very welcoming and went out of her way to ensure that all of our needs would be satisfied. Our room was beautiful and the housekeeping staff also very welcoming and friendly. Overall, our stay was just wonderful and memorable. This Fairmont property is special in the sense that it takes you back in time in the most beautiful part of Quebec City. It's like taking a quick trip to Europe. Old Quebec does give you the impression that you woke up in Europe. Thank you to all of the Fairmont Chateau Frontenac staff for participating in making our stay a rewarding one. And, Mr Robert Mercure, General Manager, would you please be our ambassador and thank Kim at the Front Desk for being so welcoming and professional.

« Good stay, okay room »

Service was excellent. Checkin and checkout a breeze. Correspondence prior to checkin was great. Although all room requests were met, the standard room was only okay. Water damage (i assume it was water damage) on the ceiling not well patched. Bathroom was almost really clean...shower head pressure was good, but the actual spray was wider than the tub, leaving our floor wet after each shower, even though we were careful. No room anywhere for our own drinks...we used the recycling bin for a cooler haha! Toilet seat was cheap and loose. Room was hot, and the AC was working but not well. Bright side: bed and pillows were super comfortable...great night sleep, which is really the deal-breaker for my reviews of rooms. Bar 1608 was pleasant, service was excellent. Location obviously ideal. Overall, the experience was satisfactory, but we expected better room conditions for the price we paid. I would stay at the hotel again, but it may be a longer time coming as we would either stay in an executive room (assuming that the quality of room increases), which costs more and thus not as frequent visitation. You have good service and great amenities, just a slight miss on the room. I believe our room number was 5266.
