All the services were provided for as I requested and the staff was very hospitable. Being there by myself with an infant didn't seem like a task as all the services were aligned to my comfort and requirements.

« A dream come true »

It was our 60th wedding anniversary and you provided "our dream come true". We have traveled often and always wanted to stay at the Chateaux. Our room was exactly what we wanted and every one was exceptionally nice. We have told several of our friends about our experience and they plan to stay there. When we return to Quebec we will be staying at the Chateaux. What a wonderful group of people you have working for you. The concierge Simon Boudia was exceptional. Looking forward to our next trip. « Great vacation at a first class operation »

Whether at the checkin, room service, restaurant workers, oonceirge etc. was all first class. We submitted special notes on the concierge and a young man at the presidential desk that willingly handled our return ticketing—— I do have to say the setup in the business room for ticketing seemed inadequate or at least we couldn’t get it to work.

« Great service and amazing deal »

The staff was really friendly and helpful. They surprised us with complimentary desserts and a greeting card delivered to our room for our wedding anniversary. We got a free umbrella to borrow when it was raining. We also got a free map of the Goblin filming locations, even though we didn't sign up for the full Goblin experience package. Overall, we had a great experience and the "Christmas in November" offer was a great deal! Will definitely go back again.

« Beautiful building, amazing view and excellent service. »

The negatives were very minor, and I'll get them out of the way first. The room was a little cramped for what we were expecting at that price. The room was so small that the doors to the cabinet with the mini bar in it couldn't open all the way, and anyone looking in there would be trapped between the bar and the bed. Also, the cold water tap was loose and the entire tap and the handle on the toilet were hidden under a counter that had a chip in it. Also, with a beautiful, historic building in a city with excellent coffee, it was disappointing to see Starbucks selling its famous overpriced sour paint inside the hotel. Now the positives. The view was stunning, and the service was very friendly, as was everyone we encountered in Québec City. The concierges were extremely helpful, the doormen and bellmen very helpful, as well. We also had an excellent tour of the hotel. The most beautiful city in Canada is also the friendliest, and most polite from my experience. I've been across the country with the exception of Newfoundland (unfortunately...someday soon I hope!) and the people in Québec were very friendly and the service in shops and restaurants was excellent. Merci à tout le personnel au Château Frontenac et tout le monde à Québec pour cette experience. Je vous remercie de faire un excellent anniversaire de mariage.

« Hotel good, bar horrible. »

Hotel was lovely. Bar is a complete disappointment. We have always loved going to the bar after a nice dinner out and this trip we found that you have turned 1604 into an extension of you new Sam bar. Music was Saturday night dance party and there was a bouncer at the door--who actually had to remove a person from the bar. And the staff Saturday afternoon were horrible, spent more time standing around socializing than serving. One table waited more than 15 minutes for first round of drinks. Won't stay at the hotel again because of this.

« The hotel is a fabulous place to get away to. »

The room was clean and quiet, considering the lobby is as busy as a train station. Its an amazing place, the hotel is very well run and staff goes above and beyond. We ordered room service as the hotel eateries were packed. The service was nicely done, well presented, hot, and on time. In the end I was glad to have opted for the quiet of our room. To stay in the old town so close to the waterways, and the many varied eateries was so good the history is great and takes you back in time. We loved it and hope to go back soon.

We couldn't be more pleased with the service of check in and staff. Overall the comfort of our large room, king size bed, bathroom with tub-shower, closet with bathrobes for in house pool (co-incidentally on the same floor as us) down the hallway. My complaint lies with the bathroom not having a fan to exhaust smells or steam after showering? Also after a 2 million dollar reno, one would think the toilets could have been replace for higher sitting comfort of 17 inch models, and bathroom fans installed! The TV remote defaults to 3 channels that advertise Fairmont Hotel's services, and rarely works the previous channel settings if watching two two news channels alternately. It defaulted much too often to those 3 services channels. Also would have been nice to have an English version of default start screen for those guests that don't read French. The last "surprise" I'll make you aware of is, when paying for our meal the evening of check-in at Sam's restaurant I wrote on the bill a hefty $20.00 tip which was increased to $25.00 making for a total bill of $194.01. I assume the reason for this happened when I asked for a copy of my bill, was my $20.00 tip did not reflect a 15% tip, so the waiter increased it to $25.00, or he misread my writing and assumed it may have read $25.00 on a $169.?? bill. No problem...I was rather surprised after the fact. A tip should be at the discretion of the person giving it and not the establishment! Otherwise I can't be happier with our stay, it was a beautiful hotel, far above my expectations with a wonderful view, great friendly services, a lovely pool/whirlpool and refreshments, and an English version of the Globe & Mail newspaper to read, and wonderful tours we booked to view Quebec City's history and other historic landscapes! Great shopping and restaurants to eat out at, and helpful staff who responded in English to serve us. Thank you Fairmont Hotel for a wonderful holiday experience! We shall treasure it always.

« Generally did not meet expectations »

I was disappointed with the level of service and have written to the General Manager about this. Also, the food was disappointing, particularly at the prices charged, and the wine prices were ridiculously high. Room service was particularly poor and there was a mix-up with my sister's room being in my name, in spite of being corrected twice.
