Mattress needs replaced. Room needs updated. Carpet dirty and stained. Not a 5 star hotel. Lighting needs updated.

The view from our room was beautiful. We looked directly over Market Square and Mt. Washington. It as our 45th wedding anniversary and the hotel sent us a bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberries. Very Nice!!!!!!

Honestly for being my first time at a Fairmont and for how pricey it was I was disappointed in the quality and the service. Even from when I first walked in with my suitcase, there were a whole group of employees standing outside, but no one helped with the door until they watched me struggle getting through. The room was ok, but didn't meet my expectations for such a pricey hotel and it didn't even have an actual refrigerator that could be used by the guest. The shower door wasn't attached appropriately and that meant the bathroom floor was flooded every time you took a shower. I feel I have stayed in comparable Marriott's for a fraction of the price.

The hotel located downtown and in walking distance to a lot of attractions. The room is big and clean, bed is comfortable. We stayed at a deluxe room with river view on the 22th floor and the view was nice. The service at the hotel is very nice as well. Most of the staff at the hotel are very nice and helpful, especially Eric at Concierge, Brian at the entrance, Alex and Hyden at the reception desk, and Ceema at fl.2 restaurant, also the gentleman at valet parking who showed us where to catch the double decker bus. We enjoyed our stay at Fairmont Pittsburgh and look forward to staying there again next time we are in town.

I stay in a lot of hotels around the country, that are 4 and 5 star. but this hotel experience was outstanding. the food was first rate. the service was among the best I have ever had. the upstairs bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful. the doorman was helpful and very professional. but the concierge was great because I left my laptop at the hotel and they sent it back to me right away. This is the only hotel in Pittsburgh I will stay in.

Overall, great place to stay. Love the free welcome drink. The rooms are comfortable and I really enjoy having a full size bathroom and full fitness center. Could make this a 10 star rating by providing a free bottle of water in the room. After traveling, I'm always looking for water but I'm not paying for a bottle.

Overall stay was OK. It did appear that my room wasn't cleaned well prior to my stay. I found jolly rancher wrappers in multiple spots in the room from previous guests. When my room was cleaned, the shampoo and conditioner was not replaced. I had to call down twice to get replacements.

The hotel is always wonderful. This is overshadowed slightly by the policy to charge and hold funds at time of check in.

I was charged approximately $200 on top of the room rate for "incidentals". While you are not the only hotel to charge the full bill at the beginning of the stay, I can assure you this takes away from the overall experience. Additionally, the hold placed on these funds does not get released timely. It took a couple of days for these charges to be reconciled.

1. Dinner on 8/30/2019 in your main dinning room. Pardon me if I'm older and somewhat more formal. However, at age 69 I don't appreciate the hostess in the restaurant referring to me by my first name. If she chooses to use my first name she might first ask permission as I introduced myself by my full name. I realize that this is formal and perhaps not your practice. However, it is also what I'm accustomed to in upscale restaurants. 2. About 2 hours after I left my wife called and explained that I had left my briefcase behind. A very nice young woman called me and explained that it had not been yet found but that the room had also not yet been cleaned. She promised a follow-up call but never made one. I brought the briefcase to the room and never left with it. I'm quite confident it was left behind. A follow up phone call would be nice.
