« An unbelievable experience »

I must say that I was blown away by the service provided at the Fairmont Pittsburgh. From check in to room service to the valet, every person provided exception service. The standard set is above any other place I have ever stayed. I will definitely be back frequently.

Clean room but carpeting in halls very outdated and dirty. Overpriced.

« The Fairmont Pittsburgh is a beautiful hotel with a great view, no matter which side of the hotel you are on. »

The experience was very good and the hotel staff were a large part of that. They were very helpful with directions, assistance with luggage as examples. They were also just very pleasant from start to finish. The only issue that we experienced was with the wifi. We had not signed up for the President's Club and would have been charged for wifi. While this was spelled out in the email with the invitation to President's Club, I was not eager to provide all of the information requested. To be charged for wifi at greater than $15.00 per day was not acceptable considering the cost of the room. Wifi should have been easy to access and free.

« Generally the typical high quality experience from Fairmont with some shortcomings on the housekeeping side and an odd restaurant issue. »

Valet, bell and desk staff are wonderful - very professional and warm. My room was generally pleasant. The housekeeping was not as strong as I normally experience. The odd thing is that there were dirty dishes placed on the floor outside of my door which were not from my room. They stayed there for probably 24 hours. I'd used a coffee cup and glass the night before and those dishes were left in my room. My bed was made very quickly and kind of messily. Again, not a bad experience. Just not up to normal par. My colleagues and I were given a coupon to the new restaurant at check in, which offered a complimentary food item between 5 pm and 6:30 pm (or something like that). We went up to the restaurant at 6 pm. There were very few patrons and many, many open tables. We were told we could not be seated until 7:45 and then the coupon could not be used. We asked to sit in the bar and were told that food cannot be served there. It sounded like the restaurant really did not encourage use of the coupons. That's ok, but don't give them out at check in. I stay in the hotel there very frequently and will likely not try the restaurant again for awhile.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms are large and well decorated. We were there for a wedding so did not get to use the amenities or services as our stay had an itinerary,

« Great getawat »

While staying for only a night, we truly enjoyed ourselves. The room was very nice, spa was very relaxing, but we loved fl.2. Four visits in less than 24 hours says something. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, the décor is beautiful and we enjoyed the cocktails and the food.

« Not the Fairmont experience I have come to know. »

First let me say the valet guys, doorman, reception team, and most people we encountered were courteous, helpful and very pleasant. I suppose that is the most important part of hotel service. The issue, however, is the hotel itself. While the room was certainly clean, it was clearly in need of repair, and showing poorly for a property built only 7 or 8 years ago. Dents and scrapes in the walls, sheets that were torn and badly repaired, a single bathrobe in a room with 2 guests - in a bathroom with low-budget tile more worthy of a Sheraton. On top of that, room service that isn't 24 hours, and comes in boxes left at your door - literally. They knocked, and I answered within 15 seconds. My $148 dinner was in brown shopping bags with the food in take-out boxes sitting on the floor in front of my door. No one in sight to ask if I needed anything, or frankly to even tip. And in a world of luxury hotels, your property being the costliest in that town, $25 for high-speed internet is unique, and feels usurious. While I recognize Pittsburgh may not be able to rival the Lake Louise or Nob Hill properties I enjoy from Fairmont, it is a grand and beautiful building in a great part of town. Perhaps it's unreasonable to expect my experience at Fairmont should be equal, everywhere, however I do feel you should hold to a standard that includes well-furnished rooms in good repair, and services befitting the great hospitality brand I have come to rely on from such a prestigious hotelier.

« Love the Fairmont! »

I love staying at the Fairmont. The rooms are great and so is the service. I must say that I was not happy when the restaurant and room service menus changed. The selections are a bit too upscale for me. As a solo traveler, I often like to have the option to get room service especially when the time changes and it's darker outside. Therefore I would prefer "regular items" versus those that I cannot pronounce or not sure what the ingredients are. In the past, the Habitat would often make items to order that were not on the menu. This past visit, I was unable to find anything on the menu that seemed pleasing so I had to go out. Other than that, I think it's a great hotel!

« Disappointed after bar set so high »

My husband and I are born and raised in Pittsburgh, we were in town from our residence in Raleigh, NC. To see family. My husband has hundreds of thousands of points to be redeemed at both Marriot and Hilton, but we chose the Fairmont for locale, and High standards. My major complaint was parking. Upon returning to the hotel after an entire day out, there was no parking available under the hotel. We were informed that the Fairmont does not own the garage, and therefore our car filled with items we had bought would be parked elsewhere. I was furious. Finally after much ado the car was parked in a leased spot. It was a complimentary service, the parking person at the other end of the speaker should be fired for his rudeness period end. And the manager who was very kind, Dana Popovic, did send complimentary desserts and drinks to our room. That being said, there are many more items which require attention. We stayed on the 23rd floor. On Friday it took 45 min to get two desserts to our room. The drunk neighbors kept ringing the doorbell after midnight. The complimentary tea wasn’t replaced in our room on Saturday. The toiletries were not replaced. Which leads me to believe housekeeping is failing. I have take. Photos of the stained carpet and the peeling chrome from the handle of our shower. As well as a non describable splatter drips that were on the wall. For he price we paid, it was not up to snuff. But, we figured we wouldn’t be there long so we could soldier through. The parking situation is ridiculous though, for a guest staying two nights, there should be no exception of unavailable parking.

« Awesome Hotel! »

Stayed for an evening following a wedding reception at the hotel. The only reason that I didn't rate it perfectly because the online booking in a block of rooms was difficult. After trying twice to book two rooms, one with a king and one with two queens, I gave up and started again after booking one of the them. The other issue is that my son left a computer charger in the room on the desk. I feel that it should be something that a hotel with so much service should be able to secure and locate after checkout. We wanted to go back and retrieve it the next day but the staff said it was not found.
