« Horrible »

I booked 2 rooms but when I arrived, was told by a very rude front desk employee that i only had booked one room. Had to show him the charges on my Visa statement to convince him that i was not lying.

We always stay in these hotels when in Canada as the level of comfort and service is consistent and predictable. The Fairmont hotels breathe comfortable luxury. The rooms are nicely equipped for modern amenities but retain that old world feel.

« very disappointed »

I had several issues which I brought up with multiple people including Rennell(a manager) I expected a hotel with your reputation to have everything in order which was not the case. On arrival in the room we needed to use the fridge . We did not know that things were on sensors and in spite of telling many people who assured us no problem we were billed and had to go thru it again. We asked for a fridge which was not delivered until late, there was no ice bucket. My husband asked for his car and we were told it would take 1/2hr ...after 1 hour (midnite) by then he inquired as to what was going on...the fellow originally supposed to get the car went home and didn't pass the message!! Totally unacceptable. We had a booking thru Booking.com and one thru the hotel itself and in spite of reminding the front desk about both we were billed first after 2 days and then the key to the room was blocked even tho we were still there for another day. Having travelled extensively and been in many 5 star hotels I was very disappointed that this hotel did not meet my expectations. Also just a comment..I am a senior and found your pool a terrible hazard to get in and out of. I actually missed the step that was so far down that I fell and banged myself. I realize you are likely not to acutally make a staircase that people with some limitations can get into but I was upset that we could not make use of this and this was part of the reason for choosing the hotel . The first nite the air conditioning was not working when we arrived and had to be fixed. It never really cooled the room down to what was on the themostat. The man who fixed it said it happened often and the excessive heat made it hard for it to work properly. Still was uncomfortable after a long drive and a hot day.

« Ok, but the level of quality was not on the same level as Quebec City's Frontenac »

The beds were a bit hard and the pillows subpar. I did not expect this in the gold level. I received subpar service at bar Zoe. Concierge was helpful as usual setting up a nice tour at the Royal Mint. Rooms were very clean and well maintained.

Likely one of the most pleasant and comfortable stays we have had anywhere in the world. Room setting was exquisite. Very subtle and understated and squeaky clean. Staff very polite and helpful. Everything was perfect, including room service. Thank you. Perhaps other hotels can learn from you.

« disappointing. Service at 'Wilfrid's ' was terrible »

Room was comfortable. But our meals at Wilfrid's were of the horrible category. On Sat. a.m we presented ourselves (my daughter and I) at the door and lined up behind 4 other guests. We waited 20 minutes until we were shown into a half-empty dining room! We were shown to a table and waited and waited ... then called an attendant. This was 11:30 a.m. We expressed our disappointment as we were hungry - she gave us a rather lame excuse 'we had a rush earlier'. Of course! it's breakfast time - but the room was half empty and we were still waiting. It only got resolved 10 minutes later when we asked to speak to the Dining room manager - who told us a similar story. It seemed to me that there wasn't enough staff.

Great room , comfortable bed . Water pressure was very low in the shower . Parking was under construction which resulted in valet parking . Vehicle took almost 30 minutes to retrieve .

« Wonderfully welcomed and made to feel special »

Well prepared by pre-check in material. Welcomed and provided with upgrade to the Gold Floor. Catherine and lounge staff welcomed us and not only made us feel pampered. Lovely room with a view of the Parliament building (though because it was the gold floor, the view was not as good as last year's room in the west wing). The amenities and lounge made up for it. Sadly the destruction of the garage spoiled the view a little bit. Overall, a great stay.

Hottest day of the year and did not offer a bottle of water at check-in or complimentary in the room. room was musty and air conditioning not working well. Overall poor experience. Checked out early and spent the remainder of my vacation at Marriott (free water, floor with a view, club access, teen room, friendly staff, half the price)

« “fantastic on the outside, regular on the inside” »

++fantastic situation, spectacular view and building, recently renovated on the outside, very good breakfast buffet (althoug a bit expensive and in our case not included in the room rate) --it needs urgently an interior renovation, bathrooms tiniest, hardly one persona could be in there, loud air conditioning, thus sleeping very difficult, only free wifi if you were an Accorhotels member, otherwise they carged you like 20-25 Canadian $ for it. Price of a 5 star hotel, but right now more like a 4 star hotel
