Only issue was when I checked in they said I had an upgrade request - I said I actually didn't want that, they said no worries we will remove that. Then on my account it used one of my complimentary upgrades.

« Really bad »

My room was not done even though I was out all day. Mellisa in the reception was really unhelpful and rude. Even the best minimum of having electric adapter was not available for the duration of my stay. I was unable to use my shaver and other electronics. The concierge did not even try or bother to buy one even when I offer to pay for it. It was a real bad experience for a 5 star hotel

« It was terrific! »

We loved the room in the 4th floor ,and the Fairmont Gold service was superb. We had an excellent breakfast in the Wilfrid restaurant although found the lunch a bit disappointing . Service was rather slow and the food choices limited . What we had was certainly tasty.

« Avoid connecting rooms »

Chateau Laurier needs more front staff to speed up check in process. There were only 2 front end staff working at 6pm but I still waited 15 minutes to be helped. There was a line building up behind me while we waited. It is good that they are helping the customer with all their questions. Connecting rooms/adjoining rooms are not well insulated for sound as you can hear the neighbours quite well. If you next to late night partiers you may not get a great sleep.

« I love this hotel. The staff are so special and they go out of their way to make sure their guests have everything they need. It was perfect. »

I stayed on Gold Floor. Welcome was wonderful. Room was beautiful and clean. The snacks in the lounge were delicious and fresh. All of the employees are so friendly and make the guests feel welcome. I honestly cannot find anything that requires improvement!

I asked for a quiet room. The first night I was kept awake between 1:30 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. with a truck scraping the snow below my window in the parking lot. Did I want at that hour to change my room or just tough it out and hope to get back to sleep. Second night there was no snow plough. However, I was awakened very early by the banging of the loading dock with garbage pick up. Other than these annoyances my stay was pleasant and the staff friendly. My room was 196. I would not recommend this as a quiet room to anyone.

Staff were very courteous and efficient, I like the automatic check-out, and concierge looked after my bag for the day while I did business on Parliament hill. Sorry, I always plunder all the soaps & bathroom products from the room and take them home even when I dont use them; my wife insists. She makes my travel bookings. Join the dots.
