We spoke to the lovely staff at the reception desk about 6-7 hours before our check in because our arrival was a lot earlier than anticipated. To help us, they immediately asked whether we wanted to wait until our room was ready (and keep us up to date information via text message) or take a room that was available (though different than the the one we booked) to accommodate us. We opted to wait until our room was ready. They then asked us if we wanted to leave our bags so that we could explore the city until the room was ready. We happily said yes! We were only gone for maybe 2 hours and they texted that our room was ready! The room was spacious and very clean. It also was very beautifully decorated. The only downside was that we only stayed one night! We will definitely stay here again!

Only one issue: Breakfast room hours--was told when booking and at check in that breakfast (that I prepaid for) was open at 6.30 am on Saturday but it actually opened at 7am. This made a difference as we were in town for one of my children's gymnastics competitions and needed to leave hotel just after 7am to get there. So we missed the nice free breakfast buffet and had to instead buy breakfast in lobby at the cafe at our expense.

The new modern decor is stylish, the hotel is in a great location, but it seems to lack soul -- which was present when we had stayed there before the reno. Staff was courteous and helpful, though not warm and welcoming.

I upgraded to Club floor so I found that to be an incrementally more zen experience. The lounge is stunning and service is second to none. No pretence. Friendly. The other visitors in the lounge I can't say are the friendliest, but many were. The concierge and those on duty on that floor are amazing and incredibly helpful. I would upgrade again.

I had a little difficulty locating the registration desk from my train-station arrival, but once there, I received excellent service. The new decor is beautiful; the shower in bathroom suite was sumptuous; the food options especially the new Market area were perfect for a time-limited traveler.

Everything was as we had hoped. The Gold experience was worth it. I was disappointed that I could use my Aeroplan Diamond benefit that would have included breakfast, $25 credit and gift.

I felt like i was staying. With family/friends. I found the staff to be. Spot on.the. Gold Floor lounge.Was very nice ,good food and very helpfull and. Nice. Staff.one of the girls Karina was. Very helpfull and made you feel you were at home. But. All the. Staff on this floor we’re excellent. I am mentioning helpfull a lot but i am handi cap in a wheelchair and everybody tried to help.my condo had a flood and i adv the hotel about it and everybody seemed to go out of there way to help.

2nd stay this winter, I appreciate the welcome drink voucher, but was unable to make use of it due to unfamiliarity with the hotel services and schedule. Had a nice massage in the spa, you should consider an online booking system for it. I find the hotel restaurant food to be unecessarily rich and complex. Extended travel leads to digestion issues for most travelers as well as constant anxiety about negative health impact from high fat, unhealthy food. Long-term travelers appreciate an attempt to provide healthy options. The bathrooms are small. If I can't open my bathroom bag on a counter, I loathe the hotel. Old CP hotels are classically too small. You should consider creating corporate travel floors with expanded rooms that knock out walls and expand two rooms into one. If I had a choice, I would prefer the larger, well-equipped rooms that they have at the Quality Inn in Val d'Or to the small rooms at the Fairmonts.

At the front desk we were surprised to be offered food credits of CAD 100 - I hadn't realized this was part of our reservation. We took advantage of these credits at the first floor marketplace and coffeeshop. The room was lovely, though the stopper to send water from the bath faucet to the shower faucet tended to "shoot" out from its retaining area after the water was turned off. The staff were in general very helpful and cheerful. The guests next door were quite loud our second night; I was awakened by them at one point but was able to get back to sleep. I don't think this reflects badly on the hotel, though.

We were disappointed. We regularly stay at the Chateau Frontenac and were expecting similar standard of service but were really disapponted. It began with the waiter at the restaurant where we had lunch who insisted on answering in french when we spoke english to him. Then, we entrusted gifts with the 'chasseur' for our guests to pick-up because the concierge told us they could not hold bottles for our guests, only to be told the next day that they had no way of verifying whether the gifts had been picked up or not. The cable service cutting off with a message 'no service available' and it ended with 1/2 filled cups of tepid coffee the next day at breakfast. Lastly, we called for our car to be brought around by the valet about 30 minutes before we arrived downstairs only to be told that no one got a call.
