« Good but with certain issues not up to the standard/level of offering expected for a first class hotel. »

Excellent location, very enjoyable stay and friendly and helpful staff. A few Issues though: 1. NO FREE WIFI. Unbelievable that for hotel of this type and price that Wifi had to be paid for. Coming from the UK this is unheard of; 2. Breakfast - limited buffet selection to both cooked and uncooked options eg no natural unflavoured yoghurt on most days; no grapefruit or tomato juice as standard; no cooked tomatoes or mushrooms as part of cooked breakfast. Breakfast service lacks focus in terms of providing complete table setting if table already previously used - every day had to ask several times for coffee, milk, spoon etc. 3. Room furnishings seem to prioritise sleek design over practicality - no bed side drawers and generally very limited drawer space, places to put things etc. Also room booked with bath has a bath which is too short to lie down in. 4. Restaurant had rather limited and complicated menu options. We ate there twice and felt we had exhausted options of things we wanted to eat. Would be good if there were some more informal/everyday options. Artisans is good but stops at 7pm. Aside from the above, we did have a good and enjoyable stay.

I arrived a couple days early to attend the CSA Annual Meeting prior to the VB Conference. Unfortunately, the CSA reserved block didn't extend back to Friday night so I was unable to stay at the Fairmont for my entire time in Montreal. I stayed at the W Friday and Saturday night, and almost stayed there for my entire trip (as SPG/Marriott is typically my first choice). However, I'm glad that I moved to the Fairmont for its convenient location to the conference. My room at the W was much larger and nicer for the price, but my room at the Fairmont was also not bad. It definitely had a nice view. Thank you!

Everything was great except the elevator - you can't swipe your card on one side of the elevator and often the elevator is full and can't reach to the other side. Suggest to add the unit where you can scan the card on both sides of the elevator.

I was staying at the Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth overnight upon returning from a cruise from Vancouver toTokyo. After flying from Tokyo to Montreal, I had to overnight in Montreal as the last train bringing me to my home had departed. As usual the stay over was impeccable. The Junior Suite was well appointed. I went down for dinner and it was a delightful experience. It is with sadness that I checked out the next morning knowing that the Fairmont program as it was know is no longer. After being member of the former program since 2002 it is always difficult to see it terminated.

I would rate the room, amenities, food and service to be no more than average. On the plus side, I liked the ability to close curtains to block out light at night, and the bed/bedding was average to above average in comfort. On the negative, the light on the bathroom mirror was blinding (and couldn't be separately turned off), and I had difficulty with the WIFI (as did others). The food and the service was average at best.

A few items you should address; 1. loose toilet seats both in the lobby washroom and in our mini suite 2. No mirror in mini suite bathroom near door. You have a plug by the sink but no mirror in that bathroom. With two people in the room this makes this room useless for shaving, blow drying etc if there was a mirror one person could shower and the other get ready in the other bathroom 3. Shower stall design less than optimal. It normal to have to run the water a bit to get warm/hot water however this design means you have to get sprayed with cold water in order to turn on the water. Also the assist handle is located in a location that unusable for getting out of the shower 4. There needs to be a facility for guests to print their own boarding passes. Not all boarding passes can be printed by a third party/CONCIERGE. I spoke to the front desk and they confirmed this is a problem that guests report daily.

On my relatively short stay, I didn't get to experience as much of the hotel amenities as I would have liked, but was still very enjoyable. Most importantly, I really enjoy the '42 rooms - they are my favourite to stay in when traveling alone. Room service was also good, I appreciated the effort taken to keep the croissants I had ordered warm.

I have stayed at the fairmont montreal countless time over the last 20 years and this was for sure a bad stay. i stayed two nights and ate at the restaurant one night. The first night, the room has very little toilet paper left but enough for the evening. I did not call for more expecting that as the room was to be done in the morning for sure it ould be noticed. I guess i was wrong and had to call for a roll when i got back to my room. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant and fell horribly sick and ended up spending the night regurgitaing my meal. I am 100% surr it is restaurant food because i had dinner at 830 and the food not sitting well on my stomach woke me up at midnight. So not sure what to make of it.
