« Not wowed as I expected to be for Montreal and The Fairmont »

All in all the stay was fine, no major disappointments but I also found the experience very basic and unpersonal. This hotel was very busy during our stay and that is great for business. What I expected was a little more personal service and I felt I had to ask for "things" o many times. For example; not enough towels in my room, attitude from a server in the bar/restaurant one evening and lack of instruction when it came to checkout. I also never received my Accor points for this double room booking as well as no response to my email response inquiry, this is very disappointing.

Great. Only one issue - with the bathroom shower. The 1/2 door that is provided does not stop water from coming out of the tub while showering and this leaves a fairly sizable puddle resulting in us sopping up the water with towels provided. This would add to the # of towels being washed as well as the inconvenience for the guest to tidy up.

The room was great, however I was not impressed when going to breakfast at 9:30am to be told that we could only stay for 30 minutes. Seems like more time would be available to eat later on a weekend.

Great and friendly staff. The bellmen were great at helping with luggage and gave great directions and explanations to the underground mall. Stephanie, Concierge, was truly amazing!! SHe went above and beyond to explain the bus system for tours, recommended several restaurants, set up reservatins, and explained the map and marked key places to visit. She spent a lot of time with me and never made me feel rushed. She was a pleasure to speak with. Her english was great. She is a five star employee and she made our entire visit more enjoyable. I am so appreciative of her services and helping us make our visit memorable, enjoyable and efficient. I am so appreciative of all her help.

« I was impressed with the new look »

As a corporate travel consultant who books your hotel quite a bit in the past as well as now that you have renovated I was pleasantly pleased with the new look. However I stayed with my husband and son of 18yrs in a standard room 1510. For 3adults a bit tight for space. We all agreed the room was beautiful Bathroom spacious Improvement required would be hooks for the wet towels to dry on and a fan in the bathroom. We put our towels on the hook that the hair dryer w as on and does not work properly. We took a night swim for half hour in your pool and jacuzzi and we checked out the dressing rooms and gym We really liked them Your staff overall very courteous and helpful We will definitely return again as we had purchased ticket for the Rogers cup tennis as we are huge fans. The shuttle to the Iga stadium was fantastic We also enjoyed the new elevator access to the Via train very convenient Next year when we come I will make sure to book a larger room

The room was far too hot. When I asked the concierge to call maintenance, nothing was ever done. After my second request, I just gave up.

The hotel is beautiful. Our room was extremely comfortable. All the staff members that we encountered were very courteous and kind. Checking in and out was quick and easy.

« We had a nice stay at the Fairmont »

We had a nice stay. The room was a little small. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The concierge was super helpful and friendly. The gym facility and gym lounge was nice and renovated. My only two complaints are the following: 1. We had our Privacy sign up and one of the cleaning ladies opened our door when we were still in the room. I notified the front desk and they said they would report the incident. The next day we had the sign up again and they still went in and cleaned our room! We did not put away our valuables and did not want anyone entering the room. 2. The last day of our trip, 8/4 we had breakfast at the buffet and the guy at the baking station was rude to me when I asked him to heat up my croissant in the oven. Everyone else was pleasant and friendly up to that point.

I had been to the QE just four years ago and enjoyed my stay. The hotel is conveniently located to all the major sights in historic Montreal and easy walk or subway ride to the other areas of the city. The Fairmont had closed the hotel for a year to do a renovation. The new lobby is attractive with several food choices for meals or drinks. The rooms are attractive and well-anointed with amenities. The price was more than reasonable given the overall quality of the hotel experience. All in all we were very pleased with our stay here.

« Amazing stay that needs to happen again »

The hotel is beautiful with plenty of comfy places to rest, chat with others, and enjoy wonderful food from the hotel market. We were given an amazing full tour of John Lennon’s room. Staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The conference areas made it easy to hear or participate in group activities, no matter the size of the room. Easy to arrange transportation to and from the airport. I would love to visit again.

« Underwhelming.. Big Smiles No Ability to Resolve Problems »

Check in - staff was very friendly but when I explained how we would prefer a king and a rollaway versus the 2 double beds (we had just arrived from another Accor property and the two double beds were more like twins and with 3 people this did not make for a comfortable stay), I was told that they would look into it and put a note on my account. Nothing every transpired. Room Comfort - Beyond AWFUL - My 13 year old daughter ended up sleeping on the floor for our entire stay as the bed issue could not be resolved. We are Fairmont Presidents Club members and normally stay at the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, etc. and none of those properties would have allowed such a thing to happen. The Bathroom was so small - no fans, no electrical outlet near the full length mirror to style hair. Room so small, mattresses cannot be pulled in if needed. The non-digital thermostat was a joke and air conditioning barely worked. The door did not close well - we needed to slam it shut to ensure it was actually closed when we left. Cleanliness - dusty... the ledge behind the beds was gross and the shelf between the beds had daily accumulations. Renovation - another disappointment was the renovation. This building is a Icon and now it looks like a "w" hotel - their attempts to be modern has cost the charm that many associate with Fairmont Properties - let's hope the same renos are not planned for Whistler or Banff! Long list of improvements to be made at this property. LOCATION - is fantastic.. but I think for the premium price versus service received our family will start to stay elsewhere.

I have stayed at The Queen Elizabeth on a number of previous occasions before its renovation. The renovations have greatly improved the facilities, especially the bedrooms. It is the staff at the hotel who make the experience extra special. This is as it always was. They are friendly and very helpful with nothing too much trouble. And it is because of the service they offer that make it my hotel of choice when visiting Montreal.
