« We have been to the Hamilton Princess several times in the past but we were slightly disappointed this time.  »

We liked the additions to the hotel and the renovations. It was ridiculous that the concierge could not get us reservations at Marcus but we could book it via open table. Not enough chairs by the pool. Service at the pool was okay. They could have been more proactive. There was not enough live music at night or at the beach and pool during the day. There were no outside bars open at night.

Very Disappointed with the First room and with Gold Club Leval agent Alexander, I explained our visit was to celebrate my 65th Birthday and he advised me this was the Best He can do was a Roof view for the first two nights then move us across the hall for the rest of our stay with a water view.He made NO effort to accommodate us for the Terrible view ! In addition to being a Fairmont so called Member I Also have the Amex Plaitmium Card! Neither did anything.Also NOT enough chairs at the pool for ALL guest! We were not able to get chairs.

The hotel was extremely scenic and a short walk from downtown Hamilton. My wife and I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. The service men and women were extremely professional and friendly.

Had not been back since the renovation, lovely job, 1609 perfect setting, but your staff at the hotel are not friendly, you can barely engage in a conversation with them other than yes no thank you hello goodbye. Adult pool. It is so nice to have an adult pool especially when you don't have children. But minimal chairs, and absolutely NO service unless you go looking for it. The two staff at the pool actually were almost hiding behind a post on their iPhones. If they were going around asking guests if they needed water, helping with towels, menus etc. You provide the service at your main pool. It would be helpful and actually from a hotel point of view there would be an increase in your revenue. we were told the reason there was no service is it was the spa pool. Never heard of anything so ridiculous. You should send some staff to a Four Seasons that has a pool and you would understand what I am describing. Only real complaint about the hotel and service.

We have stayed at the Hamilton Princess on several occasions and it is always wonderful. We came down for our 45th anniversary which was noted, but was a little disappointed that it wasn't recognized. I'm not talking financially, a simple card would have been nice. We also had an issue with the message light on our phone and no one ever got back to us and let us know who called. It turned out it was the front desk but we didn't know that. Even with that, we will be back!

« Fine but not as good as I expected »

Everyone was very nice. However, I was traveling with my elderly mother and we were given a room in the Bermudiana branch that was very far from the lobby and did not have a tub. I asked for a room change and was told the manager would get back to me and he did not. I did not press it because we had already unpacked. Also on 2 days the room was not cleaned by 5 pm. When I complained at the front desk I was told the cleaning staff works until 9 pm! I have never stayed at a hotel where it was possible the room would not be cleaned until 9 pm! But he did say he would request that our room be cleaned earlier for the rest of our stay and it was.

We requested early check in and were told our room was ready at 2pm. We arrived at 3pm and was told that our room was NOT ready and we would have to wait. We received a call at 3:55 to tell us our room was ready and we proceeded through doorways upon doorways to get outside to our area. We were presented with a very shaky elevator that took us to our room. Inside room was very nice but the view, noise, and cigarette smell from our balcony was not nice. We decided to stay in and order room service for dinner. After much deliberation my husband called to place the order and were told that the menu we had was very outdated and would have to send us a new one. Once we got our order and our appetizer wasn't right they gave us a meal instead of the appetizer. The bathroom was nice, however, the shower doors are not secure and swing so the water just ran down the glass and out into the bathroom floor.

The food was good, the staff pleasant, the beach club very nice. Our room was comfortable, but a long way from the lobby, and since it overlooked one of the pools, lacking in privacy. We also had quite a long wait for our room to be readied.

I enjoyed my stay and appreciate the room upgrade that was given to me during my stay. I understand things run at a slower pace but I was slightly frustrated having to wait every morning to sit down for breakfast. Outside of this, everyone was pleasant and helpful.

Overall a very nice experience. The wait staff was pleasant but not very attentive. For example, most mornings we had to ask for our coffee to be poured.

The first room offered had a view of a parking lot, buoys and another building. The hallway was scuffed and dirty glasses were still outside the room on the floor. The second room was nicer but lacked personality. The common areas however, were great. The food was exceptionally good. Most servers were very good. Breakfast service seemed harried. The art collection, pool, gym and shopping were all stand outs.
