The resort is beautiful. However, I was quite frustrated that it took 4 hours to get a room when we arrived, ruining half of our day. Then the cleaning staff never made it to our room one day. I had to call for shampoo and soap in the evening and it was then they asked if we wanted it cleaned. Too late. We also felt the bar was very under staffed on a Friday night. We had to go elsewhere to get served after waiting for 20 min for a drink. The beach was under staffed on Sat afternoon for the number of people there.

« Beautiful hotel »

Only one problem, both days room not made up. We were already back in the room before dinner to shower. The bedroom was then tidied later at turndown. The next day, same thing, but we got no turn down.so the room was never done.

Check in is a pleasure however you should be advised about the additional charges on the room rate. The housekeeping service needs reviewing, room not stocked lightbulbs not replaced and very evident room not hoovered for the entire stay. The front desk and the bell boys are exceptional. Disappointing 1609 close due to change in season again not advised at check in. Quality of restaurants good. Was a nice stay but not sure if worth the cost.

« Blissful birthday »

After an absence of several years we decided to return to celebrate my birthday. We were anxious to visit the Hamilton Princess and see all the changes. We were not disappointed. It is a beautiful serene setting. The renovations are wonderful. The staff was awesome . Breakfast buffet was fresh and nicely presented. The only disappointment was the afternoon tea. Sandwiches were flavorless and pastries were again just ok... we were blessed with a fabulous room maid, Audrey who went the extra mile everyday. But on my birthday she left an adorable doll made from towels bearing a note wishing me Happy Birthday. What a nice surprise ! Audrey knew our names every time she greeted us throughout our visit. That is a special touch. So a special thanks to Audrey. We will definitely return to Bermuda. After so many years absences , we remember why we love it. So thank you to everyone at the Hamilton Princess !

I was satisfied with my stay but the only thing was that I asked for an early check in for 3pm and when I came at the regular check in time of 4pm, the room still wasnt ready until 4:30pm. Maybe it was an extremely busy day for the hotel.

I won a free night at the Hamilton Princess in a raffle. When I made the reservation, I told the operator I was using a free night. The room was very small with a poor view. The hotel was not full. I presented the certificate to the front desk when I checked in. The bill pushed under my door charged me for the room. I called the front desk and they said they would look into it and get back to me. I called an hour later and they said they would reverse the charge. I was told to come to the front desk for my new bill. When I reviewed my credit card, the hotel put through the correct bill and also another bill for $561.75 the next day. I called accounts receivable who said the front desk manager would have to correct and they were looking for the certificate. Two emails and phone calls later the charge was reversed. I was concerned that the hotel was able to put a charge through my credit card the next day without my authorization. The Front desk manager said that was because the account had not been closed out. Very poor internal controls and way too much of my time spent sorting it out. I wish I hadn't won the certificate.

The stay at the hotel was wonderful. The staff was second to none in terms of their desire to please. I stayed in a renovated suite that was lovely and comfortable with a view of the garden and harbor. The first thing that surprised me was that I was given a first floor room and travelling alone. I did question it and was told that it was a nice room. The second issue was the pillows. Although they did have lovely pillowcases, they did not have pillow covers. A couple of the pillows were heavily stained with blood and other fluids and I requested they be replaced. (but why did I have to?). Given the extensive renovation, you would think the hotel would invest in pillow covers and full coverage mattress pads. The hotel restaurant 1609 was a real treat. The grilled peach salad with shrimp, the fish tacos, the ice cream--were all yummy. The service once again was perfect. On September 28th around noon, I had lunch at Marcus'. The view of the harbor was beautiful. The mac and cheese with collards greens was flavorful and the Lobster Thermidor was served with raw, translucent lobster. It took me a second bite to realize the fishy odd textured morsels were uncooked lobster meat. I pulled a couple of small pieces of the raw lobster from beneath the breadcrumbs to show my server (along with some small pieces of shell mixed in). She took it back to the kitchen. The same dish returned about 20 minutes later with the same one inch hole where I had started my lunch, although blackened a bit on top by another server who announced my reheated entree's return. My lobster entree was reheated like a cold shepherd's pie. One bite of dried breadcrumbs mixed with shell confirmed the chef's inexperience or carelessness. The trip to their beach yielded pea soup green shallow water. The only place on the island that I saw anything but gorgeous ice blue water. Their onsite pools were clean and well maintained. The stay could have been so much better. It is unfortunate that the shortfalls were disgusting and posed health concerns in eating raw seafood.

Gold check-in was quick and dedicated; room amenities, layout, tv, and bathroom, and open closet was very nice and adequate; club food was adequate, staff could have a bit more friendly and provided better service, not sure if it was worth or provided the value.

Enjoyed my stay there tremendously. My room was very spacious. However went for breakfast the next morning only to find out that where they used to be its no longer. Where they serve breakfast now is very congested and not very personable.

My wife and I stayed on the 6th floor, gold lounge access. The entire staff in the gold lounge, namely Kyle, were very helpful. Everyone was friendly and accommodating and made our anniversary extra special.

« We were treated like royalty . »

This is Elizabeth R. . We were traveling with my Father James W. . My Father told me that was the best vacation of his life! Tabu in the Crown and Anchor was especially attentive to my Father. I would like to praise Maya at the front desk for her cheerful spirit and attention to detail. Give her a raise! My husband John and I stayed in room 276. Our room was at the end of the hallway and the last to be cleaned during the day . The last evening the maid never shower up to clean our room , so we went out to the hall and got our own clean towels! Not quite 5 star service I would say! We loved the pool restaurant and wished it didn't close the end of September. We also enjoyed the beach club and the shuttle. We took an island private taxi tour with Edwina, she was very knowledgeable and pleasant. A great way to see your beautiful island. We were there celebrating my Fathers 90th Birthday and couldn't be more pleased with the service and hotel and beautiful grounds. We will be back again for sure! Keep up the excellent customer service and thank you for making my Fathers Birthday a trip of a life time. Elizabeth R.
