« Poor Service time after time »

The place was beautiful but beauty is not what brings people back. Service does. Time after time we were left waiting and waiting! Our orders at the bar or at the pool were forgotten or wrong, the desk person forgot to tell us our room was ready, the cleaning lady never showed, and overall service was slow!

Our bathroom floor was covered in long black hairs- at least 20-30 hairs, we were still finding them on our second day. I immediately called the front desk to report this issue. After we checked in someone spread some kind of white gravely substance over the 8th floor hallway. When I took the elevator there were about 20 skittles candy smashed onto the floor. There was hotel staff in the elevator, and I mentioned housekeeping must have taken the day off, and your staff member just laughed. After the bathroom, hall and elevator issues we stopped at the front desk, as this was not the experience I had at your Newport Beach location in December. We also had to have one of our room keys coded as the check in staff didn't manage to do that. It's really quite the welcome we got after being in your hotel for 2 hours. Doniele was lovely and helpful, and gave us free wifi and a $50 credit for drinks or food. However the hallway was not cleaned during our stay and it took 24 hours to clean up the smashed candy. I am not sure what your posted hours are for the hotel bar, but we tried to stop by on Saturday night around 11:30/40 and we're told the bar was closed, but the mini bar is the same price, and the bartender turned his back. I have never seen a hotel bar closed before midnight on a Saturday. We will not be staying at another Fairmont hotel ever again. This was really a budget hotel experience and not to the level we are accustomed to at a hotel. When we checked out we once again mentioned to the clerk how disappointed by the cleanliness, but the voicemail we received from your housekeeping and the bottle of Perrier does not make up for the apologies for your staff's lack of follow through on their jobs. Rather than apologize or give credits, just clean your hotel.

I stayed overnight so I could easily be at the Dallas Museum of Art when it opened on a Saturday. The desk staff was friendly & efficient at both check-in and check out. The room was clean. The water facet in the bathroom was loose (Room 812). While the mattress could have been firmer, it was not uncomfortable. Breakfast was excellent: The food was good and the wait staff was efficient and friendly. The concierge services were friendly & efficient.

As always, easy, breezy and efficient! I come in 2-3 times/year for Dallas market. Everyone does their absolute best to ensure my stay is efficient, which is exactly what I need for business travel! I have to have hypo-allergenic bedding, which is always done before I get in the room! I always work through dinner, so room service was easiest. Breakfast was right on time, just before I did my workout. On that note, I appreciate the extra room in the room to complete that work out series- makes things easier!

« What a pleasant surprise! »

We booked our room online, thinking Fairmont and a good, price, what a great find. We arrived and were surprised by the casual atmosphere, most Fairmont hotels present a more formal interior space. But once inside, we were impressed by the staff, they are professional and friendly. Our room was nice, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the lobby bar and took a walk around the hotel. We saw a beautiful rooftop garden ,vegetables, herbs, flowers, fruit trees. It is amazing, large and well taken care of. We actually met the chefs who were choosing the bounty for the evening meal at the hotel restaurant. The chefs are responsible for tending to the garden. Great concept. When we were leaving a gentleman named Phillip ( I think) was very gracious, offering us a bottle of water while we waited for our vehicle and telling us how much the Fairmont appreciates our business. Our stay at the Fairmont Dallas turned out to be a pleasant surprise!

Overall the say was pleasant. Staff weer super nice,. Clean and comfortable. My only issue was the level of AC in the conference rooms. It was extremely cold and uncomfortable.

« Great service/poor air conditioner  »

We spent the first night in a room with our two children and no air conditioning. It was miserable. Someone came to fix it for the second time the next day and when they could not fix it, we did get upgraded to a suite which was nice but the room was still pretty warm. We just suffered through because it would have been too much trouble to switch rooms again. We got a coupon to use at the restaurant downstairs but when I tried to use it for breakfast , I was told I could only use it for dinner. Overall, the staff was very nice and friendly, but the experience was not great.

Air conditioning not working throughout the hotel during our stay last weekend June 16. While the room was roomy thought the bathrooms needed updating and there was no vent either in thebathroom (1606).

« Very acceptable considering the relative inexpensiveness. »

Very good for a downtown motel. I would rate the hotel higher if I were a businessperson. For a family, however, the hotel was satisfactory, but not outstanding. The parking service was excellent - the attendants were efficient and pleasant. There was an almost constant elevator noise in the room. One room-service dinner was unacceptable. My wife ordered an egg sandwich; a half hour later an egg salad sandwich arrived. That was returned and 20 minutes later, an egg sandwich appeared that was completely different from what was described on the menu. Very disappointing.

I called to ask for an early check in (by 1/2 an hour) and called same day, early that morning. I was told I would have to take my chances. Also the room was old and dingy , not like the other side of the hotel. Also, they did not have a king available even though that's what was booked.
