Well let’s begin with us checking in...I called ahead to make sure our room was available and I was told sure come on in. When we arrived we were then told our room wasn’t clean or ready. After waiting 45 mins in the lobby we decided to just go eat and come back, mind you this is lugging our belongings back into our car. When we came back an hour later we waited in line once again to check in. Got up to our room and it smelled musky and some lights weren’t working. When we would use the bathroom the toilet paper roll would jab us in our side because it was so oddly placed. I scratched up my back from this. I have been so upset after spending this kind of money for one night to treat my family that I have waited a period to respond or let some management know of our terrible experience here so I could clearly explain without being angry. I drive a bus for a living so it may not be much to some but it’s a lot for my family. I was expecting something way different and sadly it was probably one of the worst hotel experiences my family has gone through.

Overall the stay was good however the shower was not working correctly, and we did not get helped at the restaurant bar even though we were there for 10 min. Therefore we left. The same occurred on the rooftop pool. The concierge was very friendly.

« Terrible Service »

The cost was very expensive. For the amount of money the Hotel was just ok. This was listed as a 5 star hotel and I received 3 star service. The Hotel was old and the décor needs to be updated. The room was just average. Upon entering the room there was a order and when I called the front desk to ask to be moved, I was told that there was not another room available and that some one would come to spray the room. No one came, and I continued to complain and it took 24hrs for the someone to come and help with the smell. There was two large bugs in the bathroom. I was very disappointed in the food. I ordered the wings and they were fried hard so hard I had to return them. The second patch was little better not worth the money. For the cost of per night there should be free Wi-Fi and not just in the lobby. Everyday I had to come to the lobby to log on to my computer and after the second day I just said forget. I did not enjoy my stay and will not stay at this Hotel again, nor will I recommend this Hotel .

« Amazing customer service, great room!! The kids movie at the pool was the highlight of our stay! »

We received excellent customer service from the time we arrived to the time we left! They showed a kids cartoon movie at the pool there were pool floaties to watch the movie on & beach balls to play with. Very much what we needed for our last short family trip before school started!!

Most pleasant! You have been able to have a relatively large hotel with a boutique feel, which i attribute to your staff. Mr. Phillip Powell was most friendly and helpful in arranging restaurants and activities for me prior to my arrival. Your check in and out were seamless, and the staff on the Gold Level were amazingly friendly and accommodating. The elderly doorman that greets everyone is such a nice touch. I always stay at your hotel when I am in Dallas and have not been disappointed yet.

Couple of items. On the first 3 days of our stay, my wife called the desk and said at checkin the cashews in courtesy candy tray were broken into and used and we didn't want that to show on our bill. So day 1 call, day 2 call, day 3 call , finally replace on day 4. At early checkout bill slid under door, yup had a bill for cashews on it. So front desk, if YOU are gonna say you'll take care of it, just take care of it. So my thoughts at checkout after the week, nice place, but they can't/don't follow through. Item two, room attendant in evening don't stand too close to door cause you're short, and speak no English, so we really can't see you.

« Not what I would expect from a luxury hotel. »

I was very disappointed with the hotel. Especially the staff. My business plans changed last minute and was charged a fee. Something that has never happened at other hotels. To add insult to injury, your staff member Gokon smiled and seem to take enjoyment in the fact that he was charging me a fee. He was also rude to several of my colleagues who were staying at the hotel as well. I reached out to the hotel manager to discuss this but she never returned my calls. I would like an apology from Gokon and I think he owes my colleagues an apology as well. He needs to go.

We upgraded to Gold at our cost because we needed the convenience of a quick breakfast before attending a conference in the hotel. Our experience was wonderful! The breakfast was extensive and included basic eggs, bacon and sausage as well as a special egg dish each day, pastries, fresh fruit, bagels with all the toppings (including lox), cheeses and meats. Evening included a service of appetizers such as lobster salad on toast followed by a dessert service equally as scrumptious. Available all day was gourmet coffee, water, sparkling water, and sodas. Alcoholic beverages were available for purchase. Our room received a careful preview from the Gold staff prior to our arrival, making certain all of the details were attended to. The shower had a &quot;rain&quot; shower head as well as a hand-held shower head. (This was a 'standard' room.) The views from the 18th floor were spectacular, with a desk situated in front of the expansive windows. Of course, the lounge was open all day if a guest would prefer to work or mingle in the lounge. We can't imagine returning to The Fairmont Dallas without staying on the Gold lounge. An added benefit is that The Fairmont is adjacent to the tunnel system that runs under Dallas, providing air conditioned walking areas and access to Dakota's, First Baptist Dallas, and other locations.

I was on the Gold Club Level. I asked for a Wall Street Journal to be delivered to my door each morning, but I had to call twice the first morning to get it delivered. On the last morning Monday it was not delivered so I had to get it myself. Even though you advertise this as a benefit for the Gold floor. Also I left the card on my bed to have my bedding changed, and while the sheets were changed the pillow cases were not changed even though the pillow cases were the most important thing to be changed.
