Lobby is very nice. Rooms are very good sized but a little dated. Enjoyed breakfast in the Millennium Room. Also enjoyed drinks at the lobby bar. All employees were very friendly.

It was okay. The room had a faux-fancy feel that was kind of weird. The shower was pretty weak. There were a couple spots on the wall where it seemed like it was falling apart.

We really enjoyed our one night stay in the Gold Club level Guest Room. The check process was a breeze and perfect to order a glass a champagne after a day of travel. We really enjoyed the appetizers and the morning breakfast. We wished we could have stayed longer.

The hotel is magnificent with an engaging view of the lake and Maggie Daley Park. The catering and events staff were incredible and the Cookies and Cheer event reflected their dedication to perfection and the ultimate guest holiday experience.

We were treated so well. John at the front desk and Alex at the information desk were extremely professional and helpful. We were celebrating our anniversary and were brought champagne and chocolate covered strawberries by room service with a card- this was the sweetest gesture and made us so incredibly happy. We can't wait to come back. We also look forward to staying at other Fairmont locations in other cities. We highly reccomend the Fairmont!

« I was only with you for a 3 nights as I was attending a conference at the Radison. »

I have no complaints re staff and service. However my overall feelings were that the room charges, together with cost of room service were too much. When you add on city, state tax etc etc I couldn't see the value. I was also not happy that wifi would be charged and not free. I also found the choice of TV channels (for a non American visitor) not comprehensive enough. In short I felt that every little thing extra that could be charged for, was. Example - I ordered a breakfast of 1 egg, ham and decaff tea. I got 2 eggs, ham, potatoes, jams etc etc. Seeing the bill the next day I had been charged for a standard breakfast at $25 plus, instead of what I thought I'd ordered for much less. I didn't bother to take this up with the front desk.

The hotel seemed a bit dated (especially bathrooms and common hallways). While décor was tasteful, it wasn't up to the standards of previous Fairmonts we've stayed at (e.g., The Frontenac, Sonoma, Monaco). The front desk was mediocre to poor upon check-in. No opened the door for me upon entering either. Just marginal service.

We enjoyed it very much. My mother, who needs a wheelchair, was with us. The hotel gave us a wheelchair to use the entire time. We enjoyed out suite. There were a few glitches concerning breakfast and some details weren't quite right...the soap and shampoo weren't replaced in my mother's room but overall we had a very good stay.

« Enjoyable Thanksgiving Weekend »

Fairmont Chicago is in a great location near Millenium Park and not far from Michigan Ave. We enjoyed the hotel and had breakfast several times at the private dining room on the 15th floor, which was great. Our room (1516) had an unusual layout, with a long hallway and relatively small bedroom. Our bed shared a wall with the shower from the next room, so we heard lots of noise every time they used the shower. Also, the lighting in our bathroom was very dim, need more lighting options.

« Good stay with some $ troubles »

I had a few challenges with charges. When I checked in I confirmed my 3rd free night and suite upgrade had been applied. It had not but they said they would do so. When I checked out the invoice was wrong so I pointed out my 3rd free night and free suite upgrade (there were charges for both). The front desk corrected them and created me a new invoice. Checking my company credit card there were 2 incorrect charges. 1 for a room charge for items consumed and 1 for an additional night. I moved most things out of the fridge to the counter right on top for the fridge space. Before doing so I confirmed that was ok with the front desk (they said no problem). The additional night was completely wrong. I called the accounting group and explained what had occurred. She was very pleasant and assured me the charges would be credited back. The room was very nice! All the trouble with the coupons that were on my presidents club was frustrating.

« fabulous service and rooms, accolades to all departments except the kitchen. »

Fabulous Service, Staff, accommodations. I love this hotel and the people that work there. I ordered a Grill cheese Sandwich in the Bar on Friday Nov 23, 2018, It was sopping in grease and made me and my coworker feel ill after we ate it. (we split it?) My friend Christine Brown and her husband Chris also dined and were ill afterwards but I don't remember what they had. just being honest. Dave
