« Great but many activities shut down »

Place is gorgeous but some areas need to be renovated. I was expecting winter activities like snowshoe hiking, cross-country ski, but most of the trails were closed. The staff is just great, nothing to say about those wonderful people! They are genuinely nice and helpful.

not a problem but I just wanted to make a comment that it seemed as if there was a policy to try to not give glasses of water to people when dinning. We often had to ask twice and the response would be "how many glasses" instead of just bringing a glass for everyone. We had 3 roomsfor 4 nights and everyone had the same experience seperatly. The service was otherwise excellent/perfect.

Everything was to our satisfaction. Your restaurants are a tad expensive. We ate out instead. $70 for a buffet for two is expensive and on a small 3 day stay I believe breakfast should be included. We were short one day of a robe for the pool but overall it was enjoyable. Also we only found 2 of the four restaurants. Had no idea where the others were.

We stayed over the Christmas Holiday and found our experience to be a let down. When we arrived at the hotel we were given our room keys and that was it. We were never given any information about what was happening at the hotel. One day we discovered Hot Chocolate in the main hall but it was empty and at least a dozen others tried it after us and no one filled it up. We didn't know about the little places you could sit and relax, etc. Our most disappointing experience was with the dining. We found the food to be overpriced and the portions extremely small. We ordered the lamb dish at the table and terrior on one occasion and we literally were given meat with a potato and cheese melt item the size of a loonie with it. The steak we ordered was black on the outside making it look burnt and it was served with a small scoop of mashed potatoes and 3 vegetables. The food was slightly warm and looked like it had sat under a heat lamp. The food is not cheap and so more could be done to enhance this part of the stay. I think the hotel is missing a link in the dining, you have a buffet which is OK, and then a more fancy restaurant and then fancy again with the Table and Terrior which focuses on local ingredients but this could be showcased in the other two restaurants, you should have a more bistro style or relaxed dining experience. There was no pasta, fun salads or finger foods, the dining options do not lend itself to relaxing fun atmospheres. Additionally there was a lot of pork on the menu and many guests cannot eat pork, even the simple burger had pork. It would be good to see more meal options taking into account the different religious and cultural restrictions. Keep pork but don't sprinkle it throughout all the meals. Also at one breakfast we were seated in the table and terroir but behind a wall where we did not have a beautiful view of the river, although the restaurant was only a quarter full and plenty of tables were available at the windows. This would have enhanced our dining to be seated by a sunny window. Overall we are a family that has disposable income and want to treat our family and this is why we take these vacations but we did not feel treated but simply disappointed.

My family enjoyed the visit. Excellent food and staff were very friendly for the most part. I was a little surprised that some winter activities weren't ready. The ice rink was not available nor was the small oval for skating in front of the restaurant. Also the snowshoeing trails were limited. The one trail open was limited to 0.5 km due to construction. To be honest I'm not even sure why it was closed. They are seemed to be doing road work but it appeared to be set back from the trail, maybe overcautious? I expect Fairmount to be a resort and so limiting winter activities in mid December isn't wise. Also the reception told us we couldn't skate or snowshoe - just false and misinformed. When we spoke to the activities Director there were options for both.

The hotel was very grand and everyone was so helpful. When we arrived in our room, there were 2 beautiful cupcakes and a card thanking us for celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary there. The food was so good! We did have trouble with the thermostat in our room. We ended up shutting it off and opening a window. We had joined the President's Club (#32…) and thought that would cover most of the activities that were under the Resort Fee. It was disappointing that we were still charged for the fee. Most of the activities that you have available with the resort fee were not available to us do to the time of the year we visited.

The room on the 1st floor was very tiny and not very comfortable,no drawers to put your clothes in not suitable for kids the play room is great but the st hubert you cant go eat with kids the restaurant is over priced 25$+ tax for a lentil soup it's not made out of gold that's a bit absurd I would understand a soup at 10-15$ but not 25$. The poor room lady had to drag out the beds in the corridor in order to put the bed linens properly in the evening.
