« A great escape at a great location »

This was our first visit at the Manoir Richelieu. Extremely nice resort. The only thing negative we have to say is the lack of quietness we encountered. There was a surgeon's conference over the weekend and it was obvious many came with the whole family. Kids being kids of course but we had a hard time enjoying the pianist at 9:30pm because of it's location in front of the elevators. We left early.

« not bed but not fantastic either. »

The first imression as we arrived was not great. the carpet on the steps leading to the grand room looked worn and shaby. At the reception desk out of the 2 computers one was not working and that slowed things down a bit. We stayed on the 3rd floor in one suit and 2 regular rooms. All 3 rooms were very clean and well stoked. The staf very polite. Next morning we went downsters for breakfest and chosed the buffet. It was ok. but not outstanding. We kept seeng the sign that there is a lobsterfest dinner and we were looking forward to it but turned out to be a major disappointment. Less than mediocre food and served extremly slow. We decided never to eat there again.

We felt welcome from the moment we walked in the door, the outside pool nicely heated, the pool showers were had everything you needed after your swim. Very well done. The persons working at the golf pro shop were very informative and again generous. We truly enjoyed our stay, hope to return and would recommend the Fairmont to everyone. Thanks. Debbie

« The Golf Package was excellent value »

Our king room was very nice and large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfasts were expensive for the quality of food. We have had better breakfast for 1/2 the price in La Malbaie. The view however from the Dining room was spectacular. The staff are very courteous and helpful. The golf was spectacular and the value for the golf package was excellent.

I was told that my reservation would be ready by 2:00 pm. However Once I got to the reservation desk I was told that my reserved room was not ready and she did not give me a reason as to why and I would have to wait between 15 and 30 minutes. She told me that she would call me on my telephone to tell me that the room was ready within that time frame. I returned to the desk after about 30 minutes and again I was told that the room was not ready and I would have to wait another 30 minutes. I asked her why i was not called to tell me of the further delay. Her response was that she did not have my telephone number on file ( which I found very odd as when I made the reservation my telephone number was asked and given). I gave her the telephone number and she said that she would call me within the next half hour. She looked to see whether there was another similar room available but the result was negative. She offered me a complementary common drink such as a beer or mixed drink at the bar. I accepted it and went to have a drink. the bar tender did not accept my order of a cognac or scotch and offered a mixed drink instead. I ordered a screwdriver ( tournavis ) and they did not know what that was . I told them that it was a mix of vodka and orange juice and my friend ordered a beer. After some 45 minutes I received the telephone call telling me that the room was ready and could go to the desk and get the key. I found this very unacceptable especially after having driven for just over 5 hours. I would appreciate your comments as to what exactly happened.

My room was nice but a little dirty... I did not tell the hotel because was able to live with that. I had some dirt on the carpet. But still... not supposed to have that in a Fairmont room. :) Food was good and good service also.
