« The staff made it great! »

The room wasn’t very clean but the housekeeping manager made it up to me VERY quickly! The staff at the front desk, spa and club were top notch. Room was worth the rate although needs some paint on the scratched walls. Booking the reservation was very challenging online and I finally reached a phenomenal customer service agent from Fairmont in Canada who made it all work.

« From bad to wonderful. From checking out early to extending our stay!! »

Unfortunately, we spent our first couple of days listening to a crew of workers, and their massive wood-chipper machine, cut down a lot of very old and large trees just outside our window. Also, on the second morning, we were awakened by the trash collection service at around 6:00 AM. As a result, we decided to pack our bags and prepare to checkout four days early from a planned stay. That's when Mr. Erik Una, Fairmont Guest Relations Manager, became aware of our situation and jumped into action. He insisted in showing us three other rooms with significant upgrades over ours, and asked us to select one. We did, and from then on, we felt the typical Fairmont quality, warmth, and value. So not only did we extend our stay three additional days, but we also returned the following week for a short one day stay. Mr Erik Una with his outstanding customer service skills turned our experience from bad to wonderful! Thank you Erik!! You deserve to be recognized by higher management. The Claremont staff is terrific! The positive attitude of the front desk staff is to be applauded! Looking forward to our next visit.

Everything was excellent including staff's service. Breakfast and lunch were served with variety ethnic types every day. The room was clean and quiet with a great view. Enjoyed staying at Fairmont Hotel.

from check in to check out, the hotel staff was extremely helpful and engaging. The woman on turn-down service duty was awesome - funny and a joy to chat with. the only downside - restaurant. the waiter was just as inattentive at the hotel staff was attentive. .

« Relaxing, Classy, Fun. (Not a sentence, I know!) »

We were visiting our son and his family, less than a mile away in Oakland, so the Claremont was our beautiful home base. Enjoyed the Limewood twice. They did a great job of including our 3 year old grandson, while maintaining the decorum of the Claremont. My wife and I enjoyed the relaxed bar area after the family would head home for the night.

We always enjoy staying at the Claremont. We like trying different rooms; we appreciate the room upgrades; and the people are pleasant and friendly and remember us. Everything was fine, except that no one could ever manage to deliver our amenity to us. We’ll be back after Christmas.

Very quiet, clean and the quickest room service I have ever received. I just wish their tiny store offered a lot more treats and snacks that would make it easier for us to stash for our day trips and in room snacking between meals.

« Not our best stay here ever but still nice »

Our room was nice and large and beds very comfortable, but we were disturbed by the construction out back under our window late Friday evening and early the next Sat. morning. Also we were next to some other type of machinery, perhaps a washing machine? This was also very audible early in the morning. We were also a little disappointed that the Bayside Cafe was not open for breakfast: this is our favorite spot for breakfast at this property as it has some items we love that are not available in the main restaurant or room service, and we love the location for dining. We were told they were on winter hours, but we did not recall that being the case the last time we stayed at Claremont in the winter (granted our last winter stay was the year before last). We always enjoy the pool and outdoor jacuzzi but we missed the indoor jacuzzi this time due to construction. We were also told by the front desk upon our check-in that the pool was open until 11PM every evening, but this turned out to be incorrect information: we almost missed our pool time on the day we checked in due to this error. Fortunately we made it in time, and the poolside staff were very gracious and accommodating, as were all the staff we encountered. Overall it was a nice stay as usual and we would return again, but it was not our best experience ever at the Claremont.
