Short but enjoyable. Two honeymoon nights. No hot water on arrival but rectified next morning by 8.15am. Very good quality accommodation and breakfast in restaurant. TV channels offered were inadequate. Very friendly staff throughout the hotel.

Our first time in Barbados was perfect thanks to your amazing service and wonderful resort. The beach was lovely and the water was calm and beautiful. The room was updated and clean and the whole staff was friendly and very helpful. Shout out to Charlene who booked some amazing activities for us! The restaurants you picked, catamaran cruise, and island tour were all AMAZING! <3 The only thing that we feel could have been improved was the music at the restaurant and hotel events. We wanted to hear more local West Indies music and it was just some nondescript hits list. Even the live steel drum at the happy hour was covers of boring top 40 hits. Some Barbados calypso or even ska or reggae from nearby islands would have made our stay a 10/10.

A fantastic holiday on the most beautiful stretch of the platinum coast. Facilities and amenities excellent, location practically second to none and the beach suite is exceptional with the waves practically lapping at your door!

Beachfront suite was well designed with a comfortable bed, but had some flaws: - room smelt of damp the whole time - no HD TV channels or smart TV features - even the high speed internet was slow by UK standards - hot water in the shower only intermittent - had a flood in the bathroom due to the refuse pipe backing up following rain The hotel location is still as good as any on the island and the beach is still good, although gradually eroding away. Some of the outside areas looking somewhat tired by modern standards. The bar lacked any atmosphere, with inadequate seating. Staff generally good, but some (especially in the breakfast area and bar) were surly and appeared to be dialing in the service during times of relatively low occupancy. The big attraction of Barbados is the restaurant scene, which continues to attract investment. However investment in the rest of the island and the hotels seems to be lacking. Barbados badly needs some new hotels to shake up the scene and force the older hotels to invest and modernise. We still had a good time and enjoyed going back to Barbados, but it doesn't represent good value for money compared to the competition elsewhere in the world.

The Fairmont Royal Pavilion is a lovely beachfront hotel with really nice food and large, clean, stylish bedrooms, all with seaview and balcony. The grounds/gardens are immaculate with the swimming pool in a nice spot next to the bar/restaurant area. There is also a small gym. There is a great selection of various food for breakfast but I personally think the selection on the lunch and dinner menus is not very good but the food is really nice. The hotel is based in a great location in St James Parrish next door to The Loanstar restaurant and 20 minutes from Cin Cin & The Cliff restaurants, both highly recommended. However what makes the Fairmont so good is the staff, there service and hospitality is better than anywhere I have ever encountered previously both worldwide and in Barbados, they are absolutely top class. From the ladies at reception, the gardeners, pool boys, Barbara our cleaner, the restaurant staff and the bar staff with special thanks to all the ladies who worked in the bar or Taboras restaurant and Andre, Ralph, St Clair, Stephen and the main man Pearse, you ladies and gentlemen made our holiday truly fabulous and I can assure you we will be returning. Many thanks to you all.

The hotel is in a fantastic location with the best west facing sea views in Barbados from all the guest rooms but the best feature was the incredibly relaxed and friendly atmosphere created by the all the staff.

So disappointing. One problem after another. Where to start? Overflowing toilets and shower in bathroom on 3 occasions. Finally 24 hours of stench whilst entire drains were cleaned. Rude disinterested lazy staff. No beach service. Butlers nowhere to be seen. No one answers phones. 15 min wait to be seated at breakfast. Shabby communal spaces and assets. Have to honestly say I feel ripped off. For the increased prices you’re charging since refurb I had high expectations. Unfortunately apart from the rooms, which were nice but not that much better than before (same bathroom and old mattress with big dip in it meaning I had 11 sleepless nights) everything else had gone downhill. Especially the service. With a couple of exceptions the staff were bordering on rude and couldn’t have appeared less interested and lazy. Perhaps 3* but Fairmont Barbados is not 5* and definitely not ultra luxury. Far far from it. I complained in situe to GM resulting in 24 hours of improvement and excessive attentiveness, the moment the weekend arrived and he was gone and it was back to before. So so disappointed.

I was pleasantly surprised of the overall upgrade in training, services , food and The hotel. The bar was definitely raised since my May visit. Improved attention to detail makes all the difference. Area left for improvement - breakfast staff are not attentive, organized - they are too casual for this hotel. I waited 15 min for water the first day , this should be a first item at Seating, guests need hydration in the tropics and the wait taints the meal. Food was perfect , thank you will come again. G

We had a great time at the Fairmont and our experience overall was as we expected. The staff are your biggest asset by a mile, virtually every one was helpful polite and professional. My only negative would be the furniture in the bar area and partially breakfast was looking tired. As much as I appreciate that the birds are a issue in the breakfast area I do feel someone going round first thing before you open with a cloth to clean the chairs before customers arrive would be a easy fix ! No one wants there breakfast sitting on a bird poop chair. We stayed in a beach front suite, the room was very special. However I am not sure the point of the Butler they were very professional when called upon but feel they could be more visible during the day. We visit Barbados every September and this was our first trip to the Fairmont and I am sure we will be back. Regards Gary W.
