We had an extremely disappointing stay. The staff across the board was lacking and incredibly slow. For example, whether ordering cocktails on the beach or at lunch, it took about 30 mins and this was consistant for the 4 days we were there. Everyone seemed completely disinterested in helping you and generally the staff would shuffle by without so much as a greeting. The level of professionalism was way below what it should be. The quality of the food at the buffet breakfast was ridiculous. The eggs were runny and the bagels not edible. For the price, this was an absolutely crime! For 3 days there was no yogurt and rather than purchasing some locally, the staff made no effort. The early morning coffee at the bar was HORRIBLE and NOT drinkable! If you do nothing else, someone needs to show that guy how to make coffee. It wasn’t just bad coffee, who ever made it 3 days in a row, had no idea what they were doing. The waitstaff in the restaurant was slow but completely unaccomodating. It was clear that no one was trained or encouraged to provide any level of service. They did not make any effort to be helpful but rather were bothered if you asked them for anything. It was very very disappointing and completely unacceptable for a hotel of that caliber. We couldn’t have been more disappointed especially since the most obnoxious part was that the staff just didn’t care to improve their attitude and made zero effort. Even after trying to entice them with tips, it made no difference in their lack of manners. Honestly, we tried to find a single employee who cared and I can’t name one who did. It seemed like there was no management on site and zero accountability. We will NEVER Be staying there again! And honestly I don’t know how much longer any guests will! Same because it’s a pretty location

« Beautiful property, sad staff »

The accommodation was lovely - updated rooms: views right onto the water and the sound of the crashing of the waves is wonderful. The grounds are also beautiful and well maintained. On the other hand, the service at the very highest point of the season left an awful lot to be desired. I dare say it was completely lacking and out of step with a luxury resort at top dollar.

The rooms were lovely, the breakfast room looked dated. Very slow service at lunch,up to two hours! Breakfast wasn’t as nice as previous hotels we’ve stayed in, some of the fruit and tomatoes and cucumber looked dried up. Dinner on our first night was delicious. Towel beach service was great. However the beach service wasn’t consistent, sometimes we had sorbets bought round, other times not, the same goes for sunglasses being cleaned and cold towels. We spent a lot of money on the holiday and don’t really feel the quality was there overall.

« We had a relaxing and enjoyable time at The Fairmont »

We had a great start to our holiday spending three nights at The Fairmont before an eight night cruise. We loved waking to the sound of the sea and our early walk along the stunning beach. Our room was beautifully appointed and the staff helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The only negative thing is more to do with previous occupants of our room who smoked and who thought it was a good idea to throw their cigarette butts onto a tiled roof of the larger room below rather than use an ashtray!

« Absolutely Brilliant, just what was needed for us all »

The moment we arrived we were greeted by genuine Barbados hospitality, the service and efficiency throughout our stay was just perfect, a friendly understated, nothing was too much trouble attitude to any request (if we needed to actually ask for anything). The rooms could not be better appointed, just open your doors to turquoise blue sees and one of the most beautiful Caribbean beaches the island has to offer which is just meters from where you stand ...the relaxed environment and beautiful beach coupled with a friendly and knowledgeable staff who took care of every need, made for an incredible holiday for all of our family. There are very few places around the world that live up to the marketing hype - this one over delivers.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a Junior Suite. We were travelling with a baby and teenager and both were made so welcome. Anything we needed for the baby was accommodated and everyone was so kind. I stay at a lot of five star hotels and whilst some may have slightly plusher facilities the service here is exceptional. The room access to the sea is really perfect too.

The setting of the hotel is beautiful, however service in the hotel tended to be rather slow but what was disappointing was the fruit in the mornings at breakfast. The utensils used to cut and prepare fruit were not properly cleaned and often tasted of onion or other savoury food. When I asked for fresh orange juice, staff often gave me the shop bought juice. When it did come freshly squeeze it often tasted of onion.

Most enjoyable but there are improvements needed if your excellent manager is to get the hotel to a really luxury standard. The Beach Club is tired/scruffy, old worn out furniture and not properly cleaned to acceptable standards.guests in 5 star hotels expect all places in the hotel to be first class,particularly wealthy and/or elegant guests even if a casual Beach Club. Likewise staff service and standards should not be lower than the rest of the Property. Reception was good but the front desk equipment is dated and staff had problems with it. In my case It was impossible to use any of my 33000 club points against extras on my account as incorrect authorisations seem to be a problem although it may be your dated IT front office. Even the manager gave up after 30 minutes and it appears my club points have gone down although none were used? The Yoga class was poor and amateurish which is understandable in a small island. It might be better not to offer this to guests who expect a lesson from an experienced teacher. Finally the dinner menu needs some thought, perhaps to vary 3 times weekly and keep more guests in the hotel. Likewise the entertainment could be reorganised to be more intimately related to diners. Your manager M Martinez is excellent and I am certain will make a major improvement as his direct involvement in the hotel operations was impressive.
