We enjoyed the room, restaurants, spa and lounge. We chose to spend 2 nites this year instead of 1 so that we had a full day of R&R. We enjoyed our room, the Castella and Sushi restaurant as well as the Rundle Lounge, brunch and spa day. No spa package was availabe when we booked so opted for the AB resident rate. It is an extravagant annual mom/daughter get away that we both enjoy tremendously. Staff is friendly all over the hotel and helpful when needed. The cost is hard to rationalize so I don't even try. It does bother me that given the cost of rooms, Banff Fairmont sees fit to charge extra for parking. If one visits the spa for the day, and is not staying at the hotel, parking is free. That makes sense. Charging the extra $25 on top of resort fees and taxes is not cool. Regarding the spa, the facility, staff and treatments were great. It would be nice if more times were offered on the Monday to accomodate concurrent timing of treatments. Even Sunday, we were limited in options for treatments but that may have been due to a late booking. We appreciated the later slots for treatments so that we could make use of the mineral pools leisurely beforehand. I would rank the experience higher, if the cost was not so high.

My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Banff Fairmont hotel. We are currently expecting our first child and this was a great getaway before our lives change with the arrival of our baby. your bath robes / spa robes are terrible. I went to the Copper Point Resort after we left the Fairmont where we spent $85.00/night and their robe were amazing. We also went to the Fairmont Hot Springs Spa and they had much better robes then your hotel. your hotel and service is great but wow the robes are not up to the standard you set for the rest of your services.

Was a very cold weekend but we stayed in the hot pool which was fabulous... especially able to have cocktails in there. The room could have been a little bigger for the three of us as breakfast in the room was a little awkward with no table space and only two chairs. The staff were friendly and helpful.

« Love the location, service is friendly and warm, food is lacking. »

The service throughout the hotel, restaurants, and spa was superb. The rooms, could use a remodel. The spa, location, facilities and particularly the casual restaurant on the main floor are first rate. Overall the food was very disappointing, with the exception of the sushi restaurant and the little cafe by the entrance. The quality was so-so at best and there were very few fresh and healthy options on the menu.

We were treated royalty from booking in to departure. We enjoyed our times in the Rundle Lounge... Great food and service. Wonderful supper in the sushi restaurant Samari ... Fun place to eat ... My husband and I chose Banff Springs for our honeymoon and were a little underwhelmed by the suite as the bathroom was rather small. The view from the room was breathtaking, for sure, and the bed was comfortable, but the layout wasn't very appealing. The staff was amazing in every way, so they made our stay worthwhile. The building is fantastic for a corporate event and larger parties, as well as families since there were nightly activities, but as a couple there was very little that the hotel had to offer other than the pools. I was also slightly disappointed that honeymooners weren't welcomed to their suite with some kind of surprise - especially given that we are members of the President's Circle - but I guess that might have been too much to expect.

Upon investigation I see that we had noted at time of booking it was your honeymoon, then on January 19th for some reason the special code that tells us all it's your honeymoon was removed by a member of our team. I am going to investigate this, and I am truly sorry, as you would have received a welcome amenity and special recognition for certain. This is our error. Can you let m know if you will be back in Banff, as it would be my sincere pleasure to ensure you receive the amenity you are deserving of and I can extend also any personal assistance you may need. The bathrooms in our junior suites in the main hotel are smaller than modern standards due to infrastructure limitations as well as heritage preservation. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Very nice historic hotel in an absolutely beautiful location. Great service and responsive and friendly staff. We had a few minor plumbing issues and belatedly realized parking was not complimentary for hotel guests but otherwise we had a very pleasant stay. The new food option in lobby is great.

« Pleasure to stay in Fairmont Gold Floor »

We had a terrible experience with the airlines, so when we arrived, we upgraded to Fairmont gold (I have stayed there before) so that I could have a more worry free vacation. The service has really stepped up. We were constantly greeted and asked if there was anything more we needed. Service was very inviting with the staff approaching us frequently to meet any desires. We were very impressed by Steve Nagle (I believe that was his last name). Everyone was very friendly and helpful but he really stood out with his warmth and welcoming attitude. There was the service plus cards and he was the only one we ended up writing it for because his service was exemplary. He went out of his way to find out what we liked. I could see his kindness and consideration of others was genuine as he did this with other guests. The food was very good in the lounge. We were disappointed with afternoon tea however at the Rundle lounge. The service was very good and we liked the new tea trays but did not like the desserts as much. I took a bite and left the rest. In the past I remembered loving everything. Its not uncommon to dislike one or 2 items (for example 1 sandwich I disliked, the beet one... and I normally love beets), but none of them were fantastic. We preferred the desserts offered in the Fairmont gold lounge. It wasn't inedible, but when I am paying $55 I expect to like a lot more of it. In the spa, again the service was wonderful, but I was not impressed with my therapist; she used her forearms a lot, but it was distracting and not smooth. I had specifically asked for the best one, and I did not feel she was the best.
