Constantly woke up throughout the night with noise from Carrerra 7. Rooms are not sound resistant.

« Uncomfortable Stay »

A rather uncomfortable stay due to a variety of reasons. Firstly, it was hotel policy to demand an extra fee for an early check-in even though my room was available. I arrived around 9am after a long flight from New Zealand. This policy is rather unwelcoming and unfriendly. Secondly, the wifi did not work. It kept disconnecting after every few minutes, requiring one to reconnect. This was reported several times to reception during my 3 day stay. Reception acknowledged it was a problem but it was not resolved. This was highly inconvenient and frustrating. Thirdly, there was NO hot water in the shower during the entire 3 days. Only very lukewarm - borderline cold water. Again, this was not resolved despite complaints. Fourthly, we were woken up one morning at 8am for room cleaning. This is rather unusual and was most unwelcome after having a late night. Lastly, it was cold in the room. There is no temperature control. I simply cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Unfortunately I have another couple of nights booked there which are non-refundable, so can only hope things will have improved by then.

« Hotel doesnt want to have frequent and loyal customers »

This was my second visit to Bogota, and I prefered to stay in the same hotel. I still have future travels to Bogota, but after this last visit I'm going to change the hotel. The reason is simple: I asked them to reduce 1 day in my reservation (I was returning on Saturday and needed to leave on Friday), and they refused. Charged me for the unused night. My company wont reimburse me of this extra night. Therefore, the hotel preferred to earn one extra night and lose one customer. I'm going to choose another hotel on future visits.

The receptionists were very kind, helpful and spoke English well. They recognised us when we arrived, and they allowed us a late check out, which was very helpful to us. The security guard and bell man were polite. The room was very nice and we loved the balcony, which we used. However, we found it very strange in the breakfast room, that when ordering both fried egg and omelet, we were denied taking scrambled egg from the buffet. We have been to more than 60 countries and this is the first time we experience limitation in how much egg we can have in a buffet style breakfast at a hotel. We love eggs. The man working in the breakfast room, after we have ordered both fried egg and omelet, opened the lid to a kettle with scrambled eggs to us. Since we love eggs, we helped ourselves. After having put scrambled eggs on our plate while he was watching, he then told us that since we had ordered both fried eggs and omelet, we were not allowed to take scrambled eggs. Then we wonder - why did he open the kettle with scrambled eggs to us? So he took our plate with scrambled eggs and put it in the kitchen - likely to throw away. Very strange. Not only it made us guests unhappy - it is also unnecessary food waste. We did not even have breakfast every day, so this was very unflexible we think, and was the only thing we were not happy with at the hotel.
