Grand Hotel Palazzo Livorno is a very nice hotel a bit outside the city center. I received a beautiful suite, which was well appointed. The air conditioning, however, was disappointingly inefficient. Reception staff was very friendly - pool bar staff not so much. Pool is beautiful, but gets crowded already early in the morning with many guests reserving sun loungers to themselves for the whole day.

Great relaxing stay in Livorno

The hotel is absolutely amazing and convenient doesn’t matter if staying for longer in Livorno or just to be in Livorno as a port to entrance Italy or sea travel to France. Hotel is located almost on the sea shore with nice promenade (pass busy road is necessary), 15 minutes by bus to the city center (bus stop is just nearby to the hotel entrance). Hotel is located in historical building which is a great oasis of quietness with the touch of luxury. The room was perfect (superior room) with enough space and great bathroom, breakfast perfect, parking place very convenient, very good restaurant & bar over open small swimming pool on the roof of building. All staff very attentive and helpful.

Pretty good hotel but we would not rate it 5 stars, maybe 3-4. It was quite clean but the detergents used had a very strong and "cheap" smell. We opened the windows after each visit of the room/cleaning service which resulted in having 50+ ants in the bathroom each time (1st floor). Lobby was nice and staff mostly helpful, sometimes a little ignorant and not communicative which we experience a lot in Italy. Therefore not unexpected. But for a five star experience this needs some improvement. Extra services like room service was hilariously expensive compared the rest of the "package". We ordered some ice cubes which was a free service, therefore we were pretty happy with that. They also came pretty quickly. All in all staff in the restaurant and bar was attentive and helpful although some were again not service minded.

Made welcome as a pretty regular visitor. Pleasant meal in the restaurant on the first night, Everything in the stay went smoothly as ever. It was a bit of a surprise to find the breakfast layout had been changed but didn't take long to get used to it. Looking forward to my next visit!

The hotel is in great need of refurbishing. I really don’t know how it got his 5 stars... It might have been top notch at the beginning of the 20th century when it was probably built but these days it looks like it lives only on its past splendour long gone. I don’t think the only difference between a superior and a standard room should be the view. I also don’t understand why did they use a duvet under the sheets, only to make the bed even softer. I wonder when was that duvet removed the last time, considering the fact that we found a hair band full of hairs forgotten under it! The bed sheets had holes in it. The rooms are not soundproofed and you can hear footsteps from the room above. There are traces of former floods on the bathroom’s ceiling and the pool is only a bad joke, with it’s 1 foot depth. Definitely not up the standards of a 5 stars hotel!

Room was good, very nice bed. Pool opening times too limited. Lack of staff at the bar at certain times. Disappointed that all facilities were not available for guest use without further payment. Lack of general bar/lounge also disappointing.

Multiple issues again, this being our second stay at this property. Management really tried to compensate us for our troubles in the end.

This is our second time staying at this property in a year. Our child attends an international camp nearby each year, causing us to reserve a hotel nearby. In 2018, we stayed at this property and we had a flooded bathroom from a clogged drain in the shower, and an electricity blackout forcing us to change hotels at 1 am. This time, the restaurant food was terrible, the spa massages were subpar, and our A/C never worked from the moment checked in. We had to change rooms at 11 pm on the second night. The breakfast used to be good, but wasn’t as good this year. The property is beautiful, and has lovely views. Too many issues in only 2 stays for a total of 4 nights. The management did try to compensate us fairly for our troubles, but one grows tired of repeated issues each time they stay at a hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Grand Hotel Palazzo. We were greeted with a smile at the reception desk although it was rather late in the evening and Massimo helped us with our luggage to the room. Our room with a balcony was delightful and our housekeeping lady looked after us. Breakfast was enjoyed on the terrace each morning and the pool on the roof was a delight. Everyone was friendly and professional and we would certainly return to the hotel . Thank you to everyone .
