We had a wonderful night stay at the end of our Italian holiday. We were upgraded to a lovely junior suite and had enjoyed on of our best dinners for the trip at the hotel restaurant. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful.

« My experience in staying in your hotel was great. »

Everything was great except with the taxi which the reception ordered for us. After checking out we asked the reception to order a taxi to the leaning tower of Pisa for us. The taxi arrived after 20minutes and we told to the driver that we are going to the leaning tower of Pisa before the drive started. Quite soon after leaving the hotel the taxi driver told us he is not going to drive us to the leaning tower but instead to the airport. When ordering taxi to somewhere precisely and when its not customers mistake, the taxi driver shouldn't start making these kind of rules during the drive. Although it was the driver's boss who is to blame of this issue, this wasn't good service.

The check-in process was horrified. I found the person checking in impolite. Didn't even help me with an umbrella when it was raining heavily. House keeping didn't give me a shaving kit. Later found out it was meant for European guests not for people from Asia ( India). Even for an extra towel was made to wait for an hour. Advice given by the person checking in to use the other' towel for the time being. Drove from Hilton Metropole Florence where we were taken extreme care. We paid for breakfast but was initially informed to the contrary. When confronted then correction made but we're asked to pay for an omelette. In Hilton breakfast complimentary means everything complimentary including fresh juice ( also in Mercury Roma west, at present staying here) omelette and fried eggs. May take care of all the guests equally irrespective of colour or nationality. The rude impolite behaviour of the staffs in the first day changed in the evening. The lady in the reception apologize for the behaviour of the male colleague who was there at the time of check in & who advised to use the other towel instead of sending the other towel immediately. He is the person who said that the rates as booked was without breakfast. The gentleman at the reception at the time of check out was also very polite. On the whole I could request the management to see that in future your beloved guests are treated with extreme care. With the advent of Global tourism we could request you to introduce some Asian food in the menu. People like us who do not eat beef or pork will then enjoy your hospitality better. We went to a Japanese Restaurant for dinner on the suggestion of the staffs at H&M store who were helpful to suggest and found that the Restaurant is extremely busy. Even a request for a suitable Indian/ Asian Restaurant was turned down by the Receptionist who checked us in. Although chairs were given in the verandah but they need to be properly cleaned regularly. In the room a Nespresso coffee machine like that given in Room number 652 at Mercure Rome West is also very helpful. Even when asked for internet connection for 3 devices I was questioned do I need 3 connections simultaneously and then I had to explain why I need 3 connections simultaneously. The more I am reminded of the person who checked us in the more I feel bad.

Regret only stayed two nights. With the exception of the key card issues, it was a really enjoyable stay in a wonderful building. Worth staying just to look at the rooms and decoration.

Did not fully live up to my expectations, but not bad either.Location and staff service levels were very good.But room was in urgent need of a deepcleaning and new carpet as it was coming loose on several locations in the room, showing the concrete underneath.Also the door in the shower was missing, flooding the bathroom when showering.The room, apart from the above flaws, was nicely decorated with a nice balcony with fantastic sea view. And the bed was amasing giving us a comfortable good night's sleep. Also breakfast was very good.We did get a very interesting roomrate in the hotel, so all in all for the price paid, the price/quality was excellent. But wouldn't pay full price here for the quality offered.

Bathroom had poor lighting. Wall on opposite side of bathtub in the bedroom had many water stains. Price paid for the room was far too much when looking at the quality received.

Building is beautiful, personnel is 4*, maintenance and cleaning 2* (photos available if you wish to go beyond statistics). Let's not forget the 5th floor terrace - too small as well as the mini pool - but the food is very good, impressive choice of food and wine, a panoramic seaview.

We were disappointed with the service level of this 5-star hotel and could not believe this was how Accor intents it to be: * Carry our own bags in the car whilst the door man watched us doing so * Room left uncleaned even after twice informing the reception that this was not done * Very poor breakfast where the scrambled eggs were horrible and the waiters cleaned the tables by throwing everything on the ground (empty sugar packs, etc...)

We stayed at Grand Hotel Palazzo for 1-night at the end of a trip to Italy. It was the one low point on an otherwise awesome trip. We picked the hotel due to proximity to Pisa airport and while it was an easy drive from the hotel to the airport everything else about the stay was generally disappointing. The service throughout was poor with lots of waiting for staff to do things, there was an unpleasant smell of drains on the 4th floor of the hotel where we were staying and the quality of the room (despite the fact we were given an upgrade to a junior suite) was not great. Breakfast was average, gaining access and exit to the car park was challenging and the bed was uncomfortable. Such a shame because the Grand Hotel itself is an impressive building that unfortunately has lost its grandeur.

« Relaxing, luxurious, nice atmosphere, but with a couple of niggles and worrying fire safety »

We had two rooms: a Classic Room and a Deluxe Room (with two bedrooms within). In both rooms there were problems with TV channel reception. Only approx. 6 of the TV channels worked in either room (out of a total of approx. 25). This was a surprise and disappointment for a 5 star hotel. The fire alarm went off late on the night of Saturday 18th August, but in both of our rooms there was no audible alarm; we could only hear the alarm in the corridor once we had muted the TV! No hotel staff came down our corridor to inform us or to assist evacuation. When we got to the reception we found it was a false alarm. The lifts kept working even when the fire alarm was sounding, which is a surprise and a worry. Took quite a long time to turn the alarm off, which meant we didn't get to sleep until the early hours of the Sunday morning. On a positive note: the staff in the breakfast room were excellent, although they ran out of eggs long before the end of the breakfast time. The staff in the 5th floor bar were also excellent, as was the quality of the drinks & snacks served.

« An historical Hotel very nicely located still some renovation to be finalized to become a great palazzo »

As expected an hotel with a lot of historical elements , the terrasse and the restaurant on the top are great, worth a dinner or a drink. Location is fantastic to see sun set on the sea. But still a number of renovations are not yet finalized (pool, electricity, elevators, TV system ...) . The director tried his upmost to balance some inconveniences and he should be thank for that. Rooms are a bit small for that category of hotel but you should schoose the ones on the see view. Room service need to improve thanks to Sofitel guidelines to be at the level of other sofitels but a great time with a great breakfast. I recommend this hotel for a couple to keep great souvenirs.

No special attention in the room from the manager for a platinum guest (besides upgrade which was appreciated!). Power blackout in the whole hotel for the whole evening without any specific explanation and no appology from manager upon departure!
