I stayed in my requested room; I was greeted like a friend and even though I forgot and left a set of clothes on the floor, they kept them for me. The staff at reception are just wonderful; not just occasionally, but always!

« Comfortable mid range Hotel with room for improvement in standard of Breakfast. »

In general good mid-range standard, but quality of Breakfast needs improvement. Both selection and service below average. I had to wait 15 minutes for hot breakfast, which is unacceptable during breakfast time. No boiled or scrambled eggs available. Very poor!

« Disappointing »

Decor nice, loved the large photos of St Malo on the ground floor. Reception staff warm and friendly with a sense of humour and their use of English way better than our French which was much appreciated. The room large and a comfortable bed. What was disappointing was lack of English TV Channels, we stayed 2 nights in wet weather, having visited St Malo before there was no pressing need to get wet being a tourist so we stayed in our room. It felt like there had been budget cuts, 2 teabags, no biscuits, 1 very small bottled water for two people plus all the other amenities one is accustomed to in a 4 Star Hotel non existent. No fridge. Value for money we think not! Stains on the spare pillow case and bed runner had a burn mark on it.

Very nice hotel. Bedroom and bathroom very stylish and comfortable. Great shower. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Used the underground garage €10 charge per day/night. No problem.

« Good basic clean hotel in excellent position »

Found the staff very friendly and helpful...with one exception. The hotel is in an excellent position for both the old town and the ferry, and with the option of garage parking made access easy. Breakfast staff are wonderful - very efficient and cheerful and keep the buffet replenished and the tables cleared.

The room is good but would been nice to have a minibar too. In the bathroom we were surprised to find high quality soap and shower gel. Unfortunately, the shower flooded. The hotel is quit far from the old town and the shorter way is an uninhabited street.

The reception staff were welcoming and the room was clean and tidy. However, we did not expect such a small room with the double bed up against a wall. It felt very cramped and compared to other Mercure hotels it did not come up to the standard we would have expected. We would not stay there again.

« Excellent 2 day stay. Friendly, helpful staff, clean well appointed rooms. »

2 day stay prior to travelling back to UK on the ferry from Ouistreham. Checked in late in the evening, but keys were ready, very quick and friendly. Both rooms were clean and well appointed. Hotel was ideal as we were travelling with a car which we could park very close to the hotel then walk in to St Malo (~20 minutes). Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Breakfast was pretty good, better selection of fresh fruit would have improved.

We pulled into a public road parking space right outside the hotel to be greeted by a receptionist informing us there was a coach arriving in 2 hours and we needed to move the car. When I explained I was disabled I was told there was parking at the other end of the road. The public highway does not belong to the hotel and the disabled parking is certainly not within suitable reach. The room although immaculate was very basic not much better than the 2 star ibis also owned by the same chain for a third of the price. There is no restaurant other than for breakfast we had to sit on what I can only describe as plastic garden chairs. The cups in the room are plastic only enough milk for 2 drinks. The tv still doesn’t show English channels a fault that has clearly not been rectified in over a month. The bathroom had an all in one shower shampoo gel only. Very poor for 4 stars. Would I stay there again. No
