The hotel was great. We arrived on a weekend and the market ensured all roads for Mercure were blocked and the car park was full . My husband is disabled and we were in a mess as we could not park and he could not walk. Thank goodness for Elise (i Hope I have the correct spelling) she came to our rescue and helped us find a car park for the night. The next day we were able to park at the hotel. Hotel management should discuss with city officials that access to at least one place in front of the hotel is available on all days. We will not return to Saint Malo because of this problem. The hotel is great just the city officials.

Very nice hotel, excellent room. Good breakfast. Walking distance from ramparts of old town (just - around 20 min). We found a good restaurant nearby so walking into the old town for dinner was not essential. Good secure on-site parking.

Lisa gave us a lovely welcome and did her best for walk-in visitors. Room was fine but an early morning departure was spoilt by no choice of type of tea (only green!) and only two pots of 'milk'. Ambience was very good; access very good.

The hotel was good, bedroom excellent, comfortable bed and very quiet. The breakfast room was like a madhouse and the coffee was not great but overall it was a good experience and we would book again.

We found the Hotel easily, but had a bit of trouble finding how to park. Once found the parking process was easy. Hotel receptionist was charming and helpful and the rooms are very pleasant. Nice environment. Restaurant that was suggested was very good and close by. Will stay next year.

We enjoyed our stay at Mercury Balmoral. The hotel is located very conveniently close to the train station and bus routes to the town and Intra Muros. The facilities were exceptionally well-kept and our room was very well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Reception and breakfast staff were very helpful, friendly and professional. It was great but it was such a short night so I fail to see why I have been hassled because I did not respond the first time I was sent an email to do a review. I find that the constant hassling for feedback is a bit pathetic considering I arrived fairly late at night on the Thursday because of the delay on the ferry from Jersey and I was leaving on the 06h08 TGV on Friday morning so the night at the hotel was short. I simply needed to refresh myself, charge my electronic devices and have a few hours' rest before I had to head straight over to the Gare SNCF. I chose the hotel because of the proximity to the Gare SNCF and because of my previous satisfaction - I only had to walk a few hundred metres to the train track. All in all an expensive night for me for the hours involved but well worth it because by leaving Jersey on Thursday I was at Lorraine TGV by 12h33 on Friday which gave me an extended weekend in Lorraine. By pushing myself to get on the 06h08 train I did not have much sleep in the hotel but it kept me and my belonging safe, got me refreshed and ready for my travel.

The hotel is very well situated near the train station and the main town bus routes. The rooms are very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Reception staff are very friendly, helpful and professional as are the breakfast staff and the buffet breakfast is great.

Location is great but not amazing, the room are creaky over priced especially given the fact that if you need anything like a tooth brush or else you have to go pick it yourself at the reception. Staff is friendly but not overly exceptional, would not recommend this place.

We stayed for one night- 2 adults, 2 children and booked the family room. It was large, spacious and clean. Staff were helpful and the location was good - about a 15 min walk into the old town. There was a good selection of food at breakfast. We would stay again.
