« A very smart, accessible and professional hotel. »

Easy to access from the road, plenty of parking, very helpful staff. The first impression was very good, a gleaming smart new hotel by the look of it, and the room was immaculate and very clean. Staff were very helpful and professional.

Hard to find using our sat nav. Car park not well signed. Otherwise excellent.

« Not the Mercure I expected »

Very poor bed. Plumbing pipes vibrating in middle of the night. Breakfast Average. Coffee Terrible. Mercure is normally rated 4star and the standard is fairly good. This one is rated 3star ??? (By Who?)

« Good local and price - Tired, Dated grubby hotel though »

I stayed here in March 2017 and complained then and told the rooms and hotel would be updated to reflect the Mercure brand. Well I stayed again in December 2017 and nothings changed. If anything, the rooms are even more gloomy and old fashioned. Come on Mercure. New beds, New Flooring and especially New Bathrooms. Reception needs a complete overhaul and lightening up a lot. It's just an independent hotel using the Mercure Brand and doing so badly. It should be branded as a formel 1.

« I do not recommend it. You can get better value for money »

This Mercury is old and pricy for its current conditions Needs renovating: Dark room, almost no light. No heating in room. Heating only in toilet. No air conditioning for warm or cold. Room therefore fresh, but corridors warm!!! Should be other way around.

« Bad reception staff »

It's necessary to address the reception issue. Their professional skills are very improving. And all the hotel environment is quiet rundown.

Prompt service, the rooms were very clean and spacious, the price was very affordable. The front desk personnel was extremely helpful and kind in assisting our group in finding accomodations in Portugal. I was really impressed by the overall quality of the hotel.

« Good location. VERY poor breakfast. »

Decent sized room, and a good location from which to visit the town. All ruined by one of the worst breakfasts we have ever had in a hotel. Undrinkable 'coffee'.

« Hotel and rooms very dated »

We thought the hotel was really run, it looked like a 70's hotel, we would have appreciated tea and coffee available in our room or a least be available in the small breakfast room next to the lounge area, the coffee machine was switched so I asked at reception if we could help ourselves and sit in the lounge to drink it but was told no, if we wanted a coffee we would have to go next door and buy one.

« NOT a Mercure »

Terrible. Really old uncomfortable beds. Restaurant looks like an 80's wedding venue. No welcome drink for accor members offered. Shame really as used this hotel a few years ago before Mercure gobbled it up and wasn't keen on it then, so got all excited staying in a Mercure. Breakfast was a lousy spread. Staff must be bored if thats all they can bother with.

Very very uncomfortable bed. Did not sleep much. Room noisy in ground floor next to car park even though I ask on check in for a quiet room. Breakfast buffet looked very poor, bad low quality choice and not very nicely displayed. Dining hall looked like a 1990's wedding reception with horrid chairs with silly outdated cocers on them. I use Ibis and others all around Europe and this hotel is definitely NOT a Mercure!
