Hotel very nice. Efficient staff. Food expensive for what it was and limited menu. Very difficult to find hotel in the dark. Better signposting required. Satnav took us to entrance in Walton lane which was closed due to the weak bridge at hotel entrance. We then had yo drive round for another half hour to find other entrance and the signpost was very small and was only when you were on top of the approach. The long driveway badly maintained with passing places with huge potholes. Needs immediate attention as the approach to hotel is appalling. If other vehicles are coming in opposite direction you risk damaging your car in the potholes on the side of the track.

Having stayed at the Walton Hall Hotel & Spa for the 4th year running, I was left feeling slightly unrelaxed. Whilst enjoying quiet time in the bar - you seem to have completely removed all comfortable furniture ie. large comfortable leather sofas and lounge chairs and have replaced the entire bar area with a commercial feel theme with table and chairs for 2-4 guests an a raised island communal seating area mid room. The feel of this once 'relaxing' area now feels completely corporate as opposed to previously feeling relaxed, comfortable and intimate as it always has in the past. No longer can you sit with your partner and share being next to each other enjoying a drink and conversation but instead you have to sit quite coldly opposite or in the chair next to them. It may only seem a slight change but to myself, and other guests staying for restful time and not for corporate/business events it does take the personal touch away. A great shame and it possibly has changed a further return visit for us. at this time. There were also a few maintenaince signs showing - the sauna for example has been replaced with new seating which is great, however the new screws are still raised in most areas making it too hot to sit on as the screw heads were so hot! The steam room also kept loosing steam after short bursts and had to be re-booted by staff on several occasions. We had no heating working in our room (in december, its was just so cold) and seemingly no more rooms were available to move into so we were given an electric plug in heater, which had a foot missing so it sat tilted down to the carpet (not sure this was the safest of options). We arrived seperatley on our first evening due to other commitments so had missed our evening meal which had been selected & paid for at the time of booking - we were told by staff on site that we could upgrade our meal or would have the option of a bottle of wine n place of this but this never happened. Overall the food was lovely and the staff pleasant but these notable encounters made for an 'ok' stay as opposed to great stay that we have always experienced on previous visits.

Very satisfied as usual. Staff were efficient and extremely helpful, especially Melina and her husband. My wife and I have returned to this hotel many, many times and never been disappointed. Unfortunately, there was reason to complain on our recent visit regarding the cleaning of our room (531) which we feel didn't meet our expectation. The matter was brought to reception and we expressed our disappointment to one of the managers whose name was Johnny. He has indicated that when we next stay in the near future he will make provisions to address our disappointment. Regards G G.

« lovely staff, relaxing atmosphere, but tired worn fixtures in the rooms and spa lacks cleanliness. »

All staff were polite and accommodating, the room was quiet and the food fine. it was disappointing that the evening meal was from the same bar menu we used at lunch. the spa changing facilities were unclean in both make and female changing areas despite it being remarkably quiet, the pool area was much colder than spa's i have visited before making it less enjoyable to be there. the treatments were pleasant. the room was clean and quiet. however, chairs were worn out on arms and seats, bulbs hadn't been replaced in lights; so attention to detail was lacking.

The room was amazing and the spa facilities were excellent, also treatments were excellent. The food was excellent and staff were very friendly and helpful. Only downside had room service for breakfast on first morning and cooked breakfast was cold had to eat this before cereal.

Very unhelpful customer service. Main entrance to hotel closed with no alternative directions into the hotel available. Stayed in the bridal suite yet reception wouldn’t help florist locate me. Operations manager rude when a member of my party called regarding help putting some money in a safe space... sentiment was basically if it goes missing it’s your fault for leaving it out in the room. Suite not cleaned so on arrival back to the suite after the wedding it was still in the state it had been in the morning from many people getting ready for the wedding. Hugely disappointing and not at all worth the not insignificant money spent.

The experience was as would be expected, clean rooms, good service and excellent food. Being able to use the swimming pool and steam room was very really good. My husband particularly liked the beers on offer at the bar, as so often hotel bars only cater for lager and bottled beer drinkers, which is always a disappointment.

Staff were very inconsistent with times for breakfast/check-in/checkout. Apartment had some maintenance issues and the driveway is so full of pot holes, especially on the way into the car park, that you cannot avoid them.

« An excellent 3 day break. »

We stayed for three nights. We booked to attend the New Years Eve Gala Dinner in the Hall, We also stayed in a Suite - which was excellent. Food was excellent in the main restaurant and in the Hall on New Years Eve. We will definitely come back to this hotel. Staff very friendly and courteous.

Very nice rooms, pleasant, helpful staff and decent food. Mass catering for large events can be hit and miss, but that was certainly not the case at Walton Hall. This was our first visit, but a repeat booking by the Company who invited us and we can see why.
