We were staying in the Hall. We were very disappointed not to be eating in the Hall and instead we had to eat in the hotel which is a very different experience to eating in the Hall. The Hall seemed to have lost it soul the fire wasn’t lit and the entrance hall was cold and uninviting.No one was around at the hall so we checked in at the hotel reception.

Hotel was very nice, I have stayed in other Mercures before and this one was as good as the others. Staff were very friendly and helpful Downside was the Spa, seemed dated and dirty, to be fair on the day we went there were staff off sick and the hotel porter was managing it, he was very nice and helpful. Definitely would come back

The facilities were brilliant, very clean pool and sauna, the grounds are plentiful, the mess and stables were so large, the price is great for those rooms. We did not expect the accommodation to be over two floors, with wonderful beds and clean decoration. The kitchen was extremely handy for us for our dinner on one evening. We ate in the restauarant where the food was very good, the staff are very attentive and friendly, we were approached several times by staff just chatting and asking us how we were doing, where we had come from. They seemed interested in us as people not just people in the hotel.

Very pleasant although I have stayed before. However, the satnav takes you to the rear entrance which was closed for repairs. Trying to find the road to other entrance which is on a very tight bend in the dark was a nightmare.

All staff are always attentive and give a warm and friendly welcome to the hotel. Its nice to be remembered from previous visits to the hotel, especially when I haven't been for a while. Bogi recognised me and welcomed me as soon as I arrived into reception, which enhanced my visit immediately.

Lovely surroundings, comfortable bedroom, bathroom with a proper bath not just a shower. Decor and ambiance in the main areas very nice. However the dinner menu was not very inspiring. Good choices available for breakfast, very tasty but the hot dishes were barely warm. Friendly staff.

We Booked the Valentines over night experience with everything Booked in. Great Experience, we enjoyed it all. Very good value for money. Lovely spacious room, (upgraded to a Priveledge room) in the main Building. Spa and pool facilites are Great. Dining and Breakfast food all very good and Friendly helpfull staff. The Grounds are lovely for a walk around too. Very Happy ! We would recommend this Hotel

Stay was perfectly fine. Was allowed to check in early as our room was ready. Wine and chocolates in the room as part of our deal. Found the gym and pool area to be a little tired compared to our last stay 2 years ago. Dinner was good but I didn't enjoy my choice. No fault to the chef, I didn't read that the fish pie had mustard mash and I don't like mustard! My husband was a little disappointed that the waitresses didnt sing happy birthday to him especially as I had emailed ahead. The hall is also past it's best now. Such a shame for such a Majestic building. All in all a very good stay

On the whole it was ok, We were extremely disappointed that there wasn't a jacuzzi there when we were told at point of booking that there was one, We did email back but no response came, the changing rooms in the Spa were cold & filthy.

A much awaited spa trip was anything but relaxing. The Broken swimming pool couldn’t be helped really but with an overall lack of other facilities at the spa coupled with a freezing cold ‘relaxation’ room, one persons forgotten treatment with no apology and general lack of assistance left us to give up entirely on our ‘spa day’ and spend time in the hotel. The only redeeming point was one amazingly helpful waitress who did her best to make up for the fact we had travelled so far for such a let down.

As always the place is wonderful, peaceful and relaxing. Staff at the swimming pool extremely polite and helpful. We went Saturday night (10th) around 7:30 pm , and the guy in charge was so nice and told as to take our time and agree to stay even more then his working hours . Few necessary improvements to be done inside of the apartment thou . Preferably to include in the price also the slippers and robes. Very tasty food !
