Room smelt strongly of smoke ( was the smoke alarm disabled ?) Restaurant had a very long wait both Saturday evening and Sunday morning, our food was lukewarm, the bar queue on Saturday night was approx 20 minutes and the e-payment card machine broke. We noticed daylight coming through tears in our curtains at dawn. We stayed here annually for many years due to my involvement in motorsport but this visit showed us that the new owners have let’s the old standards drop. I have phots if you are interested....

Lovely room with aircon which was very welcome as it was warm when we visited. Fantastic breakfast with so much to choose from. Really nice restaurant for an evening meal with a great selection of food. Extremely handy location for visiting Brands Hatch, entrance just 100 yards away.

The staff at the hotel were absolutely brilliant really kind and helpful. The hotel itself and pool etc is wonderful. The two ladies on reception during the day were excellent. The young gentleman behind the bar was very helpful on Sunday morning by providing us with Pizza even though it was late.

The hotel is a nice hotel that has been renovated. Unfortunately there is no airco in all rooms. My room was very hot. Breakfast was also a bit disappointing, not really up to the Mercure standards. The staff was very good and professional. I liked their enthousiasme.

hotel check in staff excellent room very good. But closing the sports bar, and not opening the restaurant until 7pm left only the foyer bar with one member of staff taking food and drinks orders and he was not the most efficient. The hotel had 2 coach parties in that evening, but the hotel did not accomodate for this in my opinion. However i am a single female and when i stay at this hotel i order food and take it to my room ( on this occasion there wasnt anywhere else to eat due to the 2 coach parties even if i had wanted to eat in the restaurant or foyer), to my horror i got presented with 2 carboard boxes one with the hot food and the other with my salad, i really dont expect to eat my dinner from cardboard boxes . I would understand if i was ordering chips at 11 pm, but otherwise this really isnt acceptable in my opinion, In my opinion this looked like a fast food takeaway but 5 times more expensive.

The room was very nice however would certainly benefit from air conditioning or at minimum better ventilation. Bathroom was absolutely superb. Bar food menu was quite overpriced for the area, £12 for a club sandwich is a lot even for London let alone Kent. Breakfast was ok, restaurant wasn’t overly clean and let the whole stay down quite frankly. We were part of a wedding party, the staff had agreed to open the bar in the evening of our stay however lacked the staff to do it. One person was on hand to serve who subsequently closed the bar as it was “too much” for her. What can only be described as a continual negotiation of opening the bar then closing it, then opening it again was somewhat tiresome. Especially given we had come back to the hotel slightly earlier specifically because the hotel agreed to open the bar for us was a bit of a let down! Overall a very nice stay, we did want to try out the spa but lack of signage and pricing meant that we didn’t. Possible suggestion to add to the literature in the rooms.

rooms as staff all good however for some reason the hotel now closes the sports bar, has the restaurant closed until 7pm, so everyone queues at hotel foya bar, but only 1 member on staff. Plus if you order dinner for your room, it is supplied in cardboard boxes!

I was hosting 3 business guests for the week and needed a meeting room with presentation facilities and access to refreshments etc. Booking was very easy, both online and by phone, whilst the arrangements were all as expected. Staff were on hand to make sure we had all we needed, the rooms met our requirements and both food & drink were very good.

The rooms were recently refurbished, but need air conditioning. The reception staff were tardy.

At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. With regard to the lack of air conditioning in all of our bedrooms this is certainly something that we have fed back to the owners as our guests comfort is paramount to us however it would require a significant financial investment and sadly will not be immediate. We do have air conditioning in 30% of our bedrooms and throughout the public areas and for those rooms without we provide electric fans. i can see from your reservation that you checked in with us at 14.05 and we guarantee our rooms from 2pm so I am a little confused by your comment that the reception team was 'tardy' however I will follow up with the Front Office Manager. It was ok as we got it a reduced charge as we were in a bridal party. I tried 3 times at the bar to get a drink and was not served. The fan in our room did not work and so quite uncomfortable in room.
