It was really good. Just a few delays at dinner times two nights out of 3 as they didn't have my dinner package on their till system. I G had to explain each time that my stay also included a dinner package. But each time the waitress had to go to reception to check this and then came back and apologized. It wasn't too much of a big deal for me and it didn't ruin my experience but it could for someone who doesn't understand that mistakes can be made.

I found the room pleasant...apart from in my shower I had paint peelings from The ceiling,I couldn't sleep ad the I could feel every single spring/lump pillows were too soft..plus the main heating didn't work do had to use the 2 electric heaters. I also found food variety very limited in the sports bar and very pricey for what you actually get..

Poor check in, room was basic, tea and coffee tray was very poor. One set of towels even though room booked for 2. Stayed with other people and there room issues and car park issue ruined our stay

Asked for quiet room . Booked via spa and hotel break. Room had adjoining door to embarrassingly noisy couple in room next door. I could hear absolutely everything. Asked to move which was handled well. Given a room at back of hotel though the delivery lorry then arrived and was v noisy. I had said I wanted to sleep. Overall the room was better though I didn’t know it would have no bath which I was looking forward to. I did not manage an afternoon sleep. I went for dinner and then went to bed early. The phone rang and a man from restaurant asked me to go down and pay for the glass of wine I’d had. I said I had gone to bed. He said twice he would come to my room. I objected and explained I was in bed and no one when I checked in asked for my debit card as security. I assumed the balance would go on my account. Very upsettting especially as I discovered the lock in my room did not work. I was on my own as a woman and to have a man almost insist on coming to my room which did not lock was horrible. I told him I was not going anywhere that night and would pay in the morning. I offered to pay at breakfast and the woman said she could not take payment so I went to the desk after breakfast to pay. I felt humiliated. I became very upset when talking about it, this woman said she would tell her manager and offered me a voucher for a cup of coffee to make up for it. I said a cup f coffee would not make up for it. I went to the spa to relax . Unbeknown to me a very shouty aquaarobics class then started. I could not swim in the pool as planned. I had woken late as I was unable to get off the sleep with the door issue in my mind. And the humiliation of being asked to pay immediately the £7, as if I was not trusted. I felt threatened and as if he thought I was not trustworthy. It would have been useful to know the pool was used for aquaarobics . I came mid week expecting it be very quiet . I am recovering from PTSD after a very traumatic experience and found it not to be at all relaxing. Stressful. I felt harassed. When I checked out I was asked by a manager if I’d had a good stay so I recounted the experience again and she clearly had not had this passed on to her. She told me I should not feel upset. It was just the member of staff would not have know I was on my own and had to account for the seven pounds. I pointed out that i felt harassed and it was not for her to tell me how to feel. I did not feel understood at all. She asked me what I wanted her to do in that case. She said she would talk to the man who would be to,d not to behave like that again. I said it would be good if staff gave info in advance e.g it is easiest if we have your card details in advance so you can pay at the end. This was not mentioned and since I had dinner bed and breakfast it did not occur to me when I checked in to ask about it. I had my card with me at all times and if I was asked at dinner to pay I would have. No nformation given at any time. Same with the pool. When I said this to the manager the answer was that they can’t give information in advance it would take a speech of half an hour for each customer to tell them everything. She said there was a timetable of activities in the spa. I certainly didn’t see it. This meant not only did I not know what I could join in, (or is it not open to visitors to join in? Perhaps there would have been more restful classes I might have liked? ) but I could not plan my morning to avoid the noise. I went in the sauna but it was a shrill experience. Not what I need when I’m currently affected by loud noise . What a shame because I thought I was going to relax. I started with a massage on day one which was excellent and a quiet spa experience on the Wednesday. My impression was that this would continue on the second day. I could not have been more wrong. With moving rooms, the restaurant experience, the assault of the aqua aerobics, plus no room to change or even get my near my locker after, I was more traumatised than when I arrived. Instead I went dripping wet to my room to shower and change in order to vacate by noon. Quite honestly I couldn’t wait to leave. The manager did not handle my complaint well, preferring to put the onus on my feelings being at fault and asking me what I wanted her to do! Clearly she could do nothing. A voucher for a coffee is just insulting. I did not enjoy my stay. It was a waste of money . And time. And an effort that I don’t have to spare.

Staff appeared to have a lack of vital training, not very welcoming and when ordering food it seemed we were causing them inconvenience. Room service had issues with missing important items such as salt and pepper and sauces. Reception and spa departments were friendly and helpful though.

« Noisey and not relaxing »

It was very noisey when having spa treatments (heavy pumping music coming from the gym), whilst trying to use the sauna and hot tub my partner and I had to sit through water aerobics in the pool area. There was no notification of these activities going on durint our stay. We were unable to use the pool because this was going on. The hotel was like walking through a snow blizzard, unbelievably freezing. When getting to our room half of the complementary tea and coffee supplements were missing and not restocked. Overall an appalling stay and experience, I will be posting this review onto TripAdvisor.

I arrived to be told there was a boiler problem and no hot water and was asked if i still wanted to stay - was 8.30 at night so had no choice. Asked if I could have a discount but was told flatly no. Was not great to have to work next day without having had a shower...........

I would have like to see a good body wash provided in the shower and for housekeeping to check the room for defects as I stayed for three days and the wall paper was pealing off the wall in the main room and paint pealing off the ceiling in the bathroom

I have regularly stayed at this hotel over the past 6 years and whilst it was refurbished a number of year ago each visit is looking and feeling more tired and more grubby. But what really made me angry was after a long drive from the midlands through the pouring rain all I wanted was some food and sleep. So I called room service to order an expensive fish and chips (15 pounds) to be told that the hotel charge a 5 pound “tray charge”. Let me get this right you want me to pay you 5 quid for someone to do their job!? Or walk downstairs to collect the tray of food for “free”?I have accepted the overpriced breakfast for years and accepted paying over the top for room service food but I draw the line at paying a “tray charge”.Not again, in the future I will stay anywhere but here! By the way the Hilton double tree in Milton Keynes outclassed the Mercure brands Hatch by miles, a proper hotel that treat their customers fairly with respect!

Stayed at the hotel in October for 2 nights. Enjoyed access to the pool and gym. Staff were very friendly. Only negative was that the pillows were extremely hard and I was unable to sleep due to that.
