Jaccuzzi was broken and out of use. The extractor fan in our bedroom was also not working. There was no body lotion/moisturiser available in the bathroom and only one large towel for a double room, which we felt should have been provided for the price of the room.

The room we stayed in met and exceeded our expectations. It was spacious, clean, had all the amenities required, and the facilities in the hotel were great. The bed was comfortable, however, the pillows were a bit hard for out personal preference.

Our order for lunch was wrong and took forever, we only ordered a sandwich. I enquired 3 times about afternoon tea/cream tea but apparently they can’t sell a scone without manager approval. Breakfast was reactive rather than proactive everything was empty and they were struggling to catch up.

« Very relaxing and restful stay, only negative is the slow restaurant service. »

Booked a double room for a weekend at a Brands Hatch racing event 7-8th April. Once again we asked for a quiet room overlooking the racecourse and once again, we got what we asked for. Top marks. The online booking process is easy and straightforward, as is the online check ion which allows you to arrive, collect your key, and go to the room. Our key was ready 2 hours earlier than our planned arrival time so that was a nice touch. During our 2 night stay we used the restaurant in the evenings. On the first night our starte4rs arrived in very good time, however an error in the kitchen being notified to start preparing the main course, meant that we had a 45 minute wait before the manager approached us and advised us of the error. These things happen and we were provided two complimentary desserts for our trouble. On the second night, the restaurant service was slow. Yes there was a boxing event at the hotel but there should have been enough staff to service the restaurant. Slow service over three courses. This was our third stay at the Mercure Brands Hatch. It is a great hotel, the staff are friendly and the overall facilities are excellent. The only negative across all of our stays has been an issue with the restaurant. Other guests said they had read reviews of the hotel and the only or main negative is with the restaurant. If this issue is addressed, it will make for a great guests experience. Will we visit again, I have no doubt we will, but I do hope the restaurant is given some TLC and more staff to cater for busy times such as event weekends.

« WELL PRESENTED, CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFF »

I BOOKED AN OVERNIGHT SPAR BREAK FOR ME AND MY COUSIN AS A BIRTHDAY TREAT. OUR TWIN ROOM WAS CLEAN AND TIDY. THERE WAS A SMALL PROBLEM, WE HAD TO PUT THE KETTLE ON THE FLOOR TO MAKE TEA AS THE LEAD DIDN'T REACH THE TABLE, OTHERWISE IT WAS PERFECT. THE BOOKING WAS A BIT OF A MESS, I CALLED THE HOTEL TO BOOK, BUT THE MAN ON THE PHONE BOOKED US INTO A DOUBLE ROOM INSTEAD OF A TWIN AND THE FACIAL, DINNER AND BREAKFAST WERE A MUDDLE ON THE EMAIL HE SENT THROUGH, I CALLED THE HOTEL BACK AND THIS WAS ALL CORRECTED. MY COUSIN HAS TO TRAVEL A LOT FOR WORK AND SHE WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS HOTEL. THE SPAR GREAT AND FACIAL VERY GOOD, I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FIND A GOOD PLACE TO GO FOR A FACIAL FOR A WHILE AND THIS WAS SUPER. WE BOTH REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY AND WOULD HAPPILY RETURN AGAIN.

Upon my arrival I was not welcomed very well or given much information about the hotel. I had to wait a while as the receptionist was on the computer, also I was not given any information about what I can experience during my stay. The tv’s in the hotel room did not work very well and were very slow.

I rarely send satisfaction reports but I'll comment quickly on 2 things that bothered me about my stay at this hotel: a) The receptionist largely disregarded a colleague I was travelling with when we were checking in and later, having put my bags away and returned to the main foyer, I asked the same receptionist to remind me about where we could eat some lunch. She replied "I told you already" before pointing me towards the bar area (incidentally she hadn't told me already). So that's poor marks point 1 & 2 b) My colleague and I ordered a chicken salad and a salmon starter and the fellow who took our order could't have looked like he cared less. 25 mins later, our salads hadn't arrived and I went looking for the fellow who served us, who was also supposed to be manning the bar. No sign of him. And after calling out, in case he or other were in a back room, for north for almost 10 minutes...still no sign of him. I eventually had to go the reception to ask where our food and server was as we had to get to a business meeting nearby. She shrugged her shoulder and so did another hotel employee (who did something else, whatever that might be). Moments later the missing bar man/server appears from a door beside the reception (presubably having taken a break of some sort but leaving no one behind to look after his areas). I asked if he knew where our food was and could we please get some skates on. Another shouldee shrug. It's probably ready by now he said. He then disappeared and returned with our salad like dishes in monents. Bottom line: We felt like your staff didn't want to be there and weren't remotely focused on client perceptions of experience. And while your breakfast staff were FAR better the next morning, my experience was such that I won't be in a rush to book Mercure again!

Rather cold reception from staff on arrival. Room not as large as we hoped for. Food not best and service poor. One positive was spa area where the male member of staff was both welcoming and informative.

« Absolutely dreadful »

The hotel was hosting a boxing tournament and the whole hotel was a disgrace - glasses and cigarette ends strewn all over the forecourt, reception area packed with people drinking, some drunk, incredibly noisy, foul language. Only one person on reception so long wait. Corridor down to bedroom took us past 'Boxers' room - kept meeting boxers in kit, sweaty, smelly and again foul language.

« Lovely weekend stay »

We were greeted by a lovely receptionist, our room was not ready but we were given a cup of tea whilst they finished which was much appreciated. Our room was fresh and clean with a very comfortable bed. The food we had throughout our stay was hot and tasty. The location for Brands Hatch Circuit is just perfect, a few steps away from the hotel. Mandy in reception is a credit to the hotel, so helpful, friendly and happy. We had a great weekend.

Bedroom was freezing on arrival, window had been left open. Had breakfast delivered to our room in the morning, it was cold, greasy and delivered by an out of breath member of staff who then rudely demanded £5 in cash as the card we had left at reception was reportedly out of credit. This was not the case when we later checked with reception.
