« Lobby was cold and uninviting .. decor needs updating everywhere.. very poor selection with the breakfast, lunch and evening meals. »

The Room was comfortable enough although the extractor in the bathroom wasn’t working . For one night it was enough.

The moment we arrived at the hotel, staff were extremely friendly and fast at checking us in. The bar staff were also friendly and have taken an interest in us. I am a regular guest in the hotel and I have been amazed by the outstanding customer service I have received. In particular, Sara on reception has been incredibly helpful and warm/friendly. She helped me resolve a few minor queries with my stay and nothing is too much trouble. She is amazing. I’d also like to mention Gill, who serves me at breakfast. I am a regular guest and she greets me each morning with a smile and she even manages to remember my omelette order! Very impressed and made to feel at home. Finally Emily has been very friendly and helpful on an evening. She greets me with a smile at the bar which is very refreshing. The people are what sets this hotel aside from others in the area. Many thanks.

Have stayed here several times before and always found the reception staff very friendly and helpful. We didn't have time for breakfast this time so can't comment. The only point of improvement is bar staff; we stood and waited for nearly 10 minutes (no exaggeration) to get served and the bar was not busy in any way. There were many staff behind the bar but only one barman actually serving who was doing his best and taking food orders as well. A managerial looking person came out, swanned around but didn't bother asking if she could help anyone, whilst a number of other moody looking girls stood at the bar talking, leaving all the work to one barman - 10/10 to him. Staff training is a must.

The food is much better and having something different available than the menu is great, as we stay regular the menu is not enough to have a variation so having a special is much better. I don't understand why the racing bar is closed at the moment it is the focal meeting point for us that stay regular whether with colleagues or not it's much better than sitting in the foyer if you are alone.

With regard to the Racing Bar I can confirm that it is not closed in the evenings to our guests should they prefer to dine in there rather than the lobby or restaurant. We have recently made the decision to open the lobby bar in the evenings as many of our guests have mentioned that they would like to be able to use this area for a more relaxed dining atmosphere. However, if this is not obvious to guests I will certainly speak with the team to ensure they are communicating this message to all of our regular guests. « A very relaxed weekend »

A lovely stay very comfortable room the food was very nice and the spa relaxing. We had trouble with the television which was sorted out for us. The only thing I would say is when we booked our spa treatments we were told that you were fully booked on the Sunday so had to book them for the Monday but we found out that there were no treatments booked at all on the Sunday as they had no staff.

Had to keep getting replacement key card so going back and forth to reception as could not access the room many times. Dinner was not good on both nights. Staff were friendly enough. Spa was a lot less than expected.

« Overall good with a few improvements that could really help. »

The tarmac in the car park is absolutely dreadful. Not only driving but pulling a case. Reception staff always friendly. I stay a lot and they always remember me which is lovely. The bar closes for cash at 10:30 which seems quite early. Breakfast said they didn’t do scrambled eggs anymore and couldn’t make them as a request, they did do very nice poached eggs for me. The coffee used to be great at breakfast but now has changed and isn’t an improvement. Coffee in the bar was much better. The gym has great facilities, a squat rack with proper safety arms would really make it outstanding. The sauna/steam room seems to be turned back on at opening time so a pre-work use is out of the question. The staff really make the place anyway, there’s a couple on reception who really make it feel home from home.

Hotel is looking run down now, dinner took a long time to arrive considering the dining hall was half full, and breakfast started at 7am but the food seemed to of been sat out long before 7am, Also too much noise late at night could be heard through the thin walls

This was my first time in this hotel but my boyfriend attends here alot. When we went to the leisure centre at 7.30pm we were told it was closing at 8.15pm even though the sign said 8.30pm. The jacuzzi was closed for no reason as when we checked out we did explain this and were told it would be dealt with but I await an email from the hotel. As I was getting dressed then after my short swim due to it closing the staff member was applying her make up beside me at the mirror......after paying over £100 for a very short stay I was not happy with the experience of the leisure centre. I do await an email from the hotel.
