I spent a week in this hotel and had a really great stay. Amenities are excellent and found all the staff friendly and courteous. Great location and would defiantly recommend it for either, business or pleasure.

Perfect ! staff were friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and tidy. the only thing i moaned about was the position of the toilet which was behind the door (strange layout). My two granddaughters absolutely loved the corridors with the King and Queen chairs (as they called them) all in all a lovely stay. The only other negative was there were no lift to our rooms we did get help taking the cases up though.

The room - number 112 - had no air conditioning, the window would not open very far for any air flow. Fan in room but not much use.

Unfortunately only the superior rooms are quipped with air conditioning and whilst this will be rectified in the future, we place the fans in the rooms and can only open the windows by a certain amount to comply with Health and Safety policies which I can imagine is very frustrating to listen too. Almost all excellent. The welcome at reception was outstanding - friendly, efficient, lovely. Event staff at the wedding were superb - clearly, they are true professionals at keeping the smooth running in the background so we hardly noticed. Breakfast - teh more experienced lady was right on teh mark, the younger staff may have been newer, but would benefit from further training in keeping their eyes open for customers trying to attract attention and in remembering when they have taken an order. Checkout was very pleasant - despite being heavily pregnant in awful heat, the lady was so friendly, helpful and cheerful, she made our day. Overall, great service, many thanks.

Fantastic venue for weddings. Staff were attentive and well rehearsed. Rooms were comfortable and spacious with a good breakfast buffet included in our price. As the day was one of the hottest on record I was pleased there was air conditioning and plenty of fans!

Rooms were quiet and beds comfy allowing a good nights sleep. Pete and general service in the bar was great. Especially when they were serving guests from a wedding, as well as residents. Well done to the bar staff on Friday 29 June 2018. Pool and steam room more than adequate. Only let down were staff on reception. On approaching with key card that didn't work for the 2nd time, I was ignored and a bus group that entered while I stood at reception were served all around me. I received an apology only when stating that I had just been totally ignored. Apart from the brief and infuriating experience at reception, a really good stay for a visit to St Albans.

Room very comfortable. However, felt it was unnecessary for the radiator in bathroom on full throughout stay, was like stepping into oven each time bathroom was used. Whilst we are in middle of heatwave this was too much. Also the bathroom had a very bad smell of sewerage, not pleasant. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and our stay was relaxing as had use of pool etc. The breakfast was enjoyable with plenty to choose from. We were there for a function and the afternoon tea was very tasty, again with plenty into choose from.

So far I have been staying regularly for 23 months, still enjoy the hotel and friendly staff. I have to say its not quite as good as it was say 2-3 months ago, as there has been a high staff change, and a lot of new people learning the ropes, which is to be expected. What is missing is some of the professional, yet friending & welcoming staff, who used to take time and recognise the frequent guests and regulars, offer a bit of banter, and a bit more care, and if someone wanted something lightly different from what was on the menu, they would always try to accommodate. Hopefully this will return across board when the new starters get up to speed. Additionally the new menu is great, though some items a little over-priced, for those of us with fixed nightly corporate meal allowances. This is made more difficult with the strict one drinks voucher per stay, rather than the one per day, which was offered to those of us who stay every week, month after month. I would particularly like to give praise to the following, who always go out of there way to look after me, and other regulars: Becky, Lauren, Peter, Corrina, Gwen, Kamila, & Karolina.

The first room had no air-conditioning, which was unacceptable in the heat. I should have been informed PRIOR to travelling. Luckily, there was a spare room available. If there had not, I would have been extremely angry to have travelled there (arriving late) and been unable to sleep/book somewhere else.
