« Pleasant enough. »

Having lived in the area previously, I had a fair idea what the Noke was like. This was before it turned into a mercure hotel though. Overall I treated myself as I had pals still in the area and it was convenient. Chiswell green is quiet and pleasant and even though the hotel is near busy motorways, the hotel is the same. I enjoyed the pool, sauna and steam room and my room was tidy, clean and well kept. There was just one minor complaint in that one of the window slats in the bathroom had come off its runners and so there was a slight draft. I reported this and it is being looked into.

« We had to move room as not acceptable stressful »

We booked a superior room. Arriving at 4pm, looking forward to a shower and chaging for dinner. We were given a really good room according to receptionist. We set off for room but she chased along the corridor and gave us a hey to a different room. When we arrived the room was not warm ,we turned on the fan which was very noisy. The bathroom towel rail heater was not working, My husband rang reception who said they would send maintenance. About 6pm wedecided to go and get food. We asked again if anything was being done. A very helpful man appeared but could not fix towel rail or quieten fan. We realised we would have to move room and I asked that it should be warm. He found us one where the towel rail worked but we had to use portable heaters . I got my shower at 8.30pm after 4 hrs of messing about. My husband and I were very upset, this was a treat for us after a lot of personal family illness. On the plus point , the bar food and breakfast were good

« Staff friendly and helpful. My room at the rear was in inferior decorative order. My breakfast didn't arrive. »

Not unsatisfactory but whilst staff friendly, they didn't deliver - breakfast didn't arrive, when I cansed it up, it was very wrong and didn't seem to "make sense" - the errors weren't logical. The decor as well as fittings and fixtures were decidedly below par. The bed shot away from the wall when sitting up.

On arrival my stay was documented for the wrong dates and I notified them of this. When checking out (on the day i was supposed to) the receptionist told me i wasn't checking out until tomorrow, and i explained to her and showed her confirmation that i was checking out on that day. She proceeded to say okay thats fine, i then asked whether i would be charged for another night and she said she didn't know, but it didn't matter as my company was paying for it. I told her it did matter as it would be a waste of money for them to be paying another night and i would be questioned about overcharging. She said she would call me back as she didn't have the answer and she called later that morning to say that i wouldn't be charged. Later that day i was contacted by my booking agents to say that there were £81.00 of food and drink charges outstanding which was completely incorrect, with them saying the receipt signatures matched mine on arrival, they then proceeded to tell me that all my belongings were still in my room which they were not as i had checked out that day. Therefore a massive mistake on their part as they had evidently given me the wrong room on arrival and no apology was given for the misunderstanding and time it took me to resolve this situation.

Good breakfast, attentive staff. Allowed us to checkout at 4pm . Steam room was a bit smelly, jacuzzi was on the cold side. room was nice and spacious . The water took ages to warm up in the room . It could be coz we went there when it was very cold outside.

I stay in over 150 hotels per year due to my job. I have encountered showers of all shapes and sizes but yours was the worst I have every had. No water and when it did trickle out it was cold. Not even enough to fill a mug to rinse the soap out of my hair when it kept stopping repeatedly. Told the receptionist, still took full payment for the night!! Don't know how you have the cheek to charge full price and then say it is because everybody had a shower at the same time. It is a HOTEL!!!!!!!
