The rooms are really old and need to be upgraded - windows are extremely dirty to say the least! This is not 4* worthy. Service at the restaurant was very bad - bread served after we finished our soup, but we weren't offered any, though all other guests that joined 2 minutes after us, were. Food quality is not great either. Waiter bumped into my chair, then another one, he could have taken 20 seconds to walk where there was sufficient space, but it seems they are not trained properly. Another waitress was crying at breakfast. Waitress at dinner spilled wine at table next to us, all shows the standard for personnel in restaurant are not developed - training course would help a lot.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location, hotel was clean and rooms were very comfortable. There were not enough staff for the number of residents so service very slow in bar and restaurant. Evening meal very poor, all fried or processed options no fresh food made in the kitchen , The staff worked so hard but they could not meet the demand

Your hotel us clean and tidy however we had to ask for a fan for our room as it was airless. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Food was satisfactory.. The towels in our room were very thin and old looking and the room also lacked a fridge which clearly it once had!

We stayed 3nights. The breakfast on the first morning was not good. Its was obvious that the food was kept warm for ages the mushrooms were chewy and the scrambled eggs sere very over cooked. It was hot in the room . No airconditioning and the windows couldnt be opened very far. However they did give us a fan. The heating had been left on in the room and the towel rail was hot. Which contributed to heat. We asked 4 timed for sheets and in the end one of the dinning room staff got them for us. So on the whole for what we paid for the 3 nights it wasnt satisfactory. The leisure facilities, the lockers wouldnt lock, the jacuzzi was out of order. The whole place looks like it needs a bit of a face lift. Would i choose to stay there again. Probably not.

Reception staff could do better and have more knowledge. Evening meals are not worth the money. Breakfast was great, room was great although you need to put mini fridges in the rooms. Some people have medication that needs to be chilled. Room was clean and today.

Disappointing due to the excessive noise coming from the hotel bar area which has an outdoor area. Patrons were still making noise well after midnight

On our arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel including the entrance area and facilities. The size of the hotel also surprised us. Our room was good, clean with mist things we needed though a bar fridge would have been good. The hotel has a bar area with an outside area having tables allowing patrons to enjoy a drink outside. The problem with this is most of the hotel rooms face this space and soundproofing of the windows is not good. There was a group of people that felt it was acceptable to make excessive noise past midnight. I contacted the on duty manager around 11pm to ask if he could ask that patrons to stop the noise or move inside. Around 12 midnight i had to call him again and sometime after this the noise stopped. Many people are utilising the facilities for a quite overnight stay and and an early morning start so i wouldn't recommend this hotel if this is what you are wanting

Parking facilities superb, that got the day off to a great start. Reception area stunning, the receptionist was extremely friendly and welcoming and even upgraded us for free! Our room was huge, very comfortable and the little extras are a nice touch. We were there for the Harrys Heroes event which was absolutely brilliant. I have to commend the young bar staff, who handled the overwhelming amount of people wanting to be served with professionalism. They were being moaned at by impatient customers but carried on regardless, smiling. Give them a pat on the back from us both. I cannot fault this hotel. The facilities are great and so are the staff. Well done!! Will definitely be back if we're in the area.

It was OK. We had asked for twin beds. We got a double bed. Reception was totally unhelpful. Jugs of water at the reception was empty. Reception staff refused to refill them

On the whole hotel was nice and the room was comfortable, so lots of potential. However our room was not as described, lacking a sofa, which was one of the main reasons I booked a privilege room. When I pointed this out to reception there was little to no explanation or effort to correct or make things right. The staff we interacted with were on the whole miserable, this to me speaks volumes, not about them as such but the environment they work in. I have stayed in many hotels in my time for business and pleasure, and the overall impression I got was that behind the scenes things are very unorganised which cannot be good for morale, I think there needs to be a serious look at management of this hotel. Cannot speak for Accor as a group as this is the only one I have stayed in, but in truth I will avoid Accor hotels elsewhere in future if possible.

surprised to find no air conditioning in our "privilege" room ! the windows were left slightly ajar and this was the only source of air on the hottest day of the month in June. Likewise there was no airconditioning in the Danetree meeting suite either. Informed the duty manager who went to the maintenance department and switched it on ( or so she said) but it made no difference. The receptionist tried to say that it was because we had left the door to the hall open ( due to the heat ) but I refuse to believe this. There are several hot tropical countries in the world where it is blazing hot outside and very cool inside despite a couple of doors being left open. Airconditioning simply either does not exist or it does not work at 4 star Mercure Daventry Court Hotel. Everything else was very satisfactory. staff were polite, breakfast options were plentiful and we liked our stay.

Arrived night before my daughters wedding. Hoping for a nice quiet meal in the restaurant. Was told restaurant was closed. But we could eat at the bar Which was loud and chaotic. I don't think so. The hotel was full of prom kids and some of the language wasn't very nice. We should have been told when we booked the restaurant wouldn't be open and there was chaos everywhere, we would have gone somewhere else. It was meant to be a relaxing night before my daughters wedding, who has epilepsy so needed it to be relaxed and calm , but it was anything but relaxed. I emailed a complaint about this but surprise surprise no response

The bar food was very expensive, the hotel is very dated in area, the gym is very small and disappointing. no lockers worked at all in the men's changing area. You have to take your belonging with you when swimming and place by the side of the pool. The steam room smelt awful and very unhygienic.

Very poor, bearing in mind myself and our wedding guests had booked our rooms in early 2018 well over a year ago, in readiness for our wedding at dodford manor and fully paid, for you to then sell those rooms again, which meant my guests had to move to another hotel, how can this be possibly moral! if you going to book out your restaurant to a private party why not also advise guests before hand! Also can’t believe you rented out your restaurant for a 70th birthday on the Sunday morning whilst paying guests are their breakfast! Pure greed and a company not knowing when to say they are fully booked!

Room 157 was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in and the food was terrible at best.

Room smelt of stale smoke, dirty carpet, room too hot, bath has 2 inch rusty hole in it. No tea/coffee facility in room. No fridge in room. dust falling off curtains when closing them. Ordered food on arrival - took 1 and half hours to serve and it was cold! Chicken over cooked and dry. Breakfast was awful. I really cannot be bothered explaining all of remaining faults with this hotel because I don't have another hour to spare typing.

Firstly the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had been refurbished and was quiet and comfortable although the weather was warm and there was no air con. The health club was shabby and none of the lockers were working so you had to take a bag with all your stuff into the pool area. Also the pool is a weird octogaon shape so you can't really swim lengths. This results in people swimming across each other's paths whilst trying to dodge other revellers / kids who are just have a general leisure swim. No marks to the person who designed or rubber stamped that one sadly. The restaurant is a very impersonal space - big with zero atmosphere. It reminded me of a school dining hall. The layout is incredibly poor ie Breakfast - You are either right next to guests getting their breakfast or 40m away from the food/drinks etc. The chairs are uncomfortable and in places far too close to one another ie by the windows. The food was incredibly average and the coffee from the machines awful. Wet and warm at best. Breakfast - The scrambled egg looked like a bath sponge - best left alone next to shampoo, the bacon very fatty and stuck together, the mushroooms tasted like cardboard and the cooked tomatoes tough - if that is at all possible......? I ate dinner in the restaraunt one evening - I paid in advance to take advantage of your kind 'offer' thus saving myself a full 95p on the full price......... that made me feel special as you can imagine......... The squid starter was OK although cold and covered in a thick batter. However......the Caesar salad was possibly one of the worst meals I have eaten in any hotel restaurant anywhere and without question the worst Caesar salad I have eaten period. For the chef's information - this was not a Caesar salad - this was watery limp lettuce laced with processed cheese and a few bought in croutons with a squirt here and there of bottled garlic mayo. Absolutely terrible. I ate it as I was hungry and had pre- paid for it but on any other occasion that would have been straight back in the kitchen. Seriously a 1/10 effort. Rooms were old and tired. Marks all over the skirting boards and walls. Bathroom was dirty, again with dirty marks surrounding the shower door. Food was appaling, with the worst being charged £4 for a ''selection of warm bread'' which was 2 small bread rolls. Would not stay again.
