Room too hot, no air con. Took too long to check in - there was an error where 2 rooms were booked in my name, receptionist took an age to fathom out what to do. I kept saying "just give me one of the rooms, I don't need two!" but it didn't really compute with her.

Decent sized , clean hotel but the hotel was pretty empty, so many conference rooms sitting idle made for a cold atmosphere and left me feeling we have overpaid for the stay. Normally when a hotel is that quiet the management make an effort to please the few guests that are there but the staff other than at the bar were nowhere to be seen. Pool was fine , breakfast good but drinks not from a coffee machine would have been better. Big Starbucks sign but no Starbucks served .

We only came to stay as there was a wedding nearby that we attended. We arrived very late and were relieved to find there was someone at the desk to check us in. He was very pleasant. Room was what we needed but in all honesty we just needed somewhere to sleep for the night before we headed home and we had few demands. We chose not to have breakfast as £20 felt a bit too expensive especially as my partner doesn’t eat anything and I just have a bowl of muesli.

I attended the Jado association Ball. Receptionist was friendly and nice. Got room 211, toilet was smelly. We put our things away then went down to meet friends at the bar. The bar was manned by one person, the bar was very poorly stocked, the bar person didn’t know how to prepare drinks. They opened up the function room so we could access the bar in there which was manned by one person. It took so long to get served. Once again they were poorly stocked that they ran out of Prosecco. We was having to wait to get served at one bar for certain drinks and then go to the other bar for the rest which was ridiculous. The meal itself was cold, no one was around for me to say take it back. No one was walking around to ask if it was ok. Not the best experience, very sad really. We booked two nights at your hotel as we were attending a friend's wedding locally. We were satisfied overall with the room having stayed at Mercure hotels before and knowing what to expect. The toilet in our bathroom did not flush and the shower screen leaked water on to the floor badly when the shower was being used. I made your receptionist aware of this on checking out. We arrived back at the hotel at 11.30pm on Saturday evening. Your conference hall had a marital arts event which had ended with a disco. We could hear the music in our room until it was switched off at 1am. We were quite shocked at the level of bass that was allowed to be played and to such a late hour when there were other guests staying at the hotel. We also returned to a nice tidy room as the cleaner had made up our bed for us. However, one of our windows had been left open which we can only assume was by the cleaner. The room was cold and we were a bit concerned as we were in a ground floor room and there were attendees from the event in the courtyard smoking. This didn't make our room very secure.

We have a lovely two day stay. The room was absolutely fine. Clean and fresh but perhaps a little tired, but it was so comfortable that didn't matter. The only let down was the breakfast on both mornings. We had to wait for bacon, cups, eggs and the sausages weren't very nice and everything was cold. The staff were very good. That was the Saturday morning. On the Sunday morning the restaurant wasn't full by any means and we had to wait for EVERYTHING and there was only one coffee machine working. No bread, no cups, no bacon, no sausages and when your toast was ready it was only then you realised there were no plates. Tables hadn't been cleared all around us but when we left the table to go to the breakfast bar our table was cleared!!!

I slept and ate well , the room was clean , but the furniture was very scratched and battered and just detracted from what was otherwise a pleasant stay . The mixer tap for the bath , only the cold tap worked - to get warm water you had to use the shower head . I can usually work these things out , but the hot tap was definitely stuck fast and would not move . thank you

New lady on reception. Overcame her inexperience very well. Room was good and restaurant was lively. Everything was spotlessly clean. Drawbacks? A little to signage would have been welcome and easier access to the car park might be contemplated. We are seldom in the area, but if we are, in future, we look forward to seeing you again.

for the money...not what was expected, rooms had dirty carpets, bedding looked shabby. Food was appalling on the first night, second night was better. we had booked a table for 2 both nights but didnt get to use them due to closing times.

Nice, clean hotel with great service and breakfast. Stayed for two nights recently and although there was an issue with the TV (only one channel and set volume) this was quickly resolved by moving us to a new room along with a couple of drinks vouchers for the inconvenience. Breakfast was tasty with numerous options available.

Very nice, pleasant gentleman at check-in. We went to the room to drop off our bags before we headed back out, as soon as we opened the door the heat of the room hit us, the radiator was on at full, even though the control dial on the radiator said 0. We mentioned it to a member of staff on reception who said he would tell the manager, and put a fan in our room, there was already a fan there, which indicates there has been problems previously with the radiator.

I arrived late in the evenng, the guy on reception was brilliant. I arrived in the room to be greeted by a smell from the drains, When I opened the bathroom door the smell was coming from there. The room was also noisy, hearing both traffic and wind. In the morning when I opened the curtains I fooun that the windows had nothing to latch to, the windows could be onepend slightly even though they were latched locked. Very disappointed with the quality of the room.

The Hotel, rooms, service is beautiful and staff are couteous. However, I was highly disappointed with my evening meal. Besides it being so late into the night, the chicken was uncooked/undercooked had blood in it. Not only was it unedible, it is highly dangerous to consume raw chicken.
