« Rather disappointing from previous Mercury experiences »

Reception and booking in were good. Breakfast room busy but food was plentiful and staff constantly topping up as needed. Bedroom was reasonably equipped but looked tired and in need of a deep clean. Bathroom too cramped. (Lose the bath and put a decent shower in!!) Room cleaning was not good and didn’t attempt to clean or replace cups or wipe down anywhere. Parking is limited and a walk away but worked fine.

« Fantastic Experience At The Mercure Hotel, Liverpool. »

The staff were friendly and more than helpful. The room was lovely and clean. Close to all the attractions. Its located right beside the Birkenhead Tunnel. Got to check-in early for free. Breakfast was gorgeous and a huge selection to choose from. Great facilities. Great View from room. Beds were lovely and comfortable and I slept like I was at home. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, no problems at all.

An enjoyable break via your promotion in"Lifestyle" magazine. Access is a little difficult,but being able to park outside and use you mini lift made up for this. The hotel is very well placed for all attractions.

« Not as wheelchair friendly as I’d hoped »

As a wheelchair user I found it very difficult to get into the hotel as a car had been parked over the only dropped kerb allowing access to the ramp. The lift in as fine as was the reception area. I am in a standard size electric wheelchair and it only just fit through into the lift, anyone with a slightly more bulky chair would struggle. We were allocated room 401 and bearing in mind I booked before Christmas asking for an accessible room, I don’t feel that the room is by any means adequate for disabled people. My chair only just fit through the room door and once inside we had to move the beds out of the way to enable me to turn around to leave the room. Once the chair was parked as such there wasn’t much room to get around the chair. I have one leg and due to medical conditions I’m not supposed to uses crutches without a prosthetic leg on. My chair wouldn’t fit in the bathroom. I did ask for a bathroom with a bath as I find it easier to get in and out but the glass screen stopped me from getting in and out safely. There was no grab rails in the bathroom around the toilet which made it difficult for me personally. I understand that the shape of the hotel may mean a compromise on space but I feel that the room was not suitable to my personal needs and probably others. I did ask on booking the hotel to have an accessible room as the website stated it was an an accessible hotel. The outside dropped herb was blocked by cars for two of the days I was there and one of the receptionists did manage to locate a ramp to get up the keen but there was limited space that this could be done. It does make things that more frustrating when I’m trying to do things independently and there are obstacles in the way. I would have struggled on my own in the hotel without the guidance and help of my son and members of the public helping in/out of lifts etc.

« Enjoyable stay »

We stayed for one night B&B. The hotel room was well equipped and being in a privilege room gave us that little bit extra e.g. soft drinks and a espresso machine, nice touch! The view from the room was fabulous, looking over the Mersey and Liver buildings. Room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, breakfast was good. The only downfall was that we were not informed about the hotel parking when we checked in however, the car park we used only cost 13.50 over night so not too bad. Overall good stay and I would recommend.

Reception staff not as welcoming as we have come to expect from one of your hotels. Breakfast was very very poor. Had to wait for 5 minuets just to get a plate to put our breakfast on. Replenishments were tediously slow. Out of the 3 members of staff one was meet and greet,one was just clearing tables and one spent more time walking around whilst eating. None of them seemed overly keen to replenish items even when asked. Overall not impressed at all.

our room wasn't clean there was dirt all up the walls , hairs in the bath, stains on the carpets , the bed sheet duvet was torn to . not good but didnt expect much more for 50 pounds !

« Freezing cold room »

Unfortunately the windows were covered in condensation which was leaking all on to the windowsill and being soaked up by the curtains and the underlayer. It was also dripping down the wall and on the floor as well as leaking on the our belongings. This was making the room extremely cold, despite having put the heating on in the room. It was an uncomfortable stay.
