We were upgraded to the Queen Elizabeth suite 1207 and 1201 due to a serious incident on our previous stay. The jacuzzi in the room did not work. Curtains to cover "no view". Shower screen does not fit. Ceiling light not working. Bath plug socket fell out - full of polyfiller. Expleair vent blocked with tissue. Paint work needs attention. If I was paying the full amount for this room then the above would be my complaint. The staff are very pleasant and make you feel welcome.

« Satisfactory but could have been better »

The room was clean, the breakfast was good and staff were on the whole friendly and attentive. However having a relaxing drink in the hotel bar was like sitting in a canteen with all the noise coming from the restaurant, the poor design of the shower led to water all over the bathroom floor and the check-out process needs work - handing over the key card is simple enough but I only received an invoice after 3 different attempts to contact the hotel to request one.

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Nicely laid out hotel, upgraded us to a suit which was very spacious and extremely comfortable. The location of the hotel is brilliant for Albert Docks and the Liver Building.

Staff were helpful and pleasant at check in and later in providing directions. Room was clean and the air conditioning kept me cool. That said, as the windows do not open at all the lack of fresh air in the room, ever, gave it a slight musty smell. The location was excellent for my purposes, which was business. Being able to exercise walk along the waterfront and access shops and restaurants was helpful, especially for a woman on her own. I was a bit disappointed by breakfast through. There wasn't a single vegetable or fruit; there was nothing that went "crunch". I don't eat carbs at breakfast so was limited to an egg.

The hotel is nice and I was upgraded to a suite. But, the stay was diminished by the waiter showing up with a credit card machine when delivering my room service, despite my providing a credit card at check in. I was made to pay then and there. Really tacky.

« Excellent Stay - was the "Guest of the Day" »

Front of house was very welcoming, and a very pleasant surprise to be the "Guest of the Day" and receive a free upgrade to a Suite and a drink voucher. The suite was very nice, spacious and clean. The complimentary Nespresso & mini bar was a lovely treat. I would definitely consider a suite if returning to the hotel as guest - on a non-business trip.
