It was OK, I have stayed in better Mercure hotels. We had problems with our room, the toilet wouldn't flush and the telephone in the room did not work so we had to keep going down to reception.

Service was excellent and ate in the bar which was good breakfast was also decent. However we could hear neighbouring rooms all night talking (walls must be thin) and people returning from nights out so did not get a great deal of sleep which was not great.

« Very central, walking distance to all museums and city centre! »

We loved the hotel as it was close to everything we planned to do. Not far away from the shopping and bars in the evening. The staff were very helpful,friendly and explained where to go exploring the sites. The room was excellent, plus we were upgraded even better, clean spacious everything you’d need. Only one downside was the sandwich my wife ordered expensive and not that great! When you pay that much it needs to be good!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a good location near the Liver Building and Albert Dock. The room was comfortable, nicely furnished, with nice views. Pleasant staff, and a lovely buffet breakfast. We didn’t sleep well, as there were some noisy guests coming back late, but this is no fault of the hotel. We would definitely return.

Check in was quick, staff was welcoming, we got upgraded to a suite for my partners 21st Birthday. The only thing was that when it came to leaving the car park we waited over 10 minutes to be let out the car park as no one would release the barrier

« Disappointing, compared with our last stay at the hotel in May 2016 and also in terms of our experience of three other Mercure hotels. »

When we entered our room we were taken aback by the decor, especially the large mural over the bed. The furniture was not particularly functional or attractive, with half of the the wardrobe shelves being too high to access. In the bathroom the shallow depth of the sink was annoying and limited its use. In the restaurant we were extremely disappointed with the very limited and unimaginative dinner menu which meant that we only used it once, on the first night, purely down to our being too tired to go out. With the exception of one night, when the bar was kept open later for the football supporters, we could not have a relaxing drink at the end of the day.

« The hotel is in need of help, and the experience is well short of the room rate »

The room was clean and tidy but is in clear need of refurbishment/bringing up to date. The hotel staff are helpful however did not appear to be supervised or trained to work at this level. Menu selection is limited as is the basic buffet breakfast. I think the hotel needs to step up in order to compete with other more recent hotels in the area.
