Our second visit to Liverpool and our second stay at the Altantic Tower with its great views of the Liver building.Freindly staff and a very comfortable room just what we needed after a day sight seeing around the dock area and city centre which which is a short walk away.

Toilet was dirty. Towels were small. Coffee machine was empty. Rooms are ok. Breakfast is very limited, no pastries etc. Coffee was of a poor quality

« Disappointing »

The hotel is billed as a four star hotel but it falls short of that ranking. From the moment I entered the hotel I knew that it would not live up to a four star hotel. The public areas were shabby, the lifts were shabby and the corridors on the bedroom floors were shabby. The hotel is tired and has the look of one that is used and abused by guests. By the time you get to the bedroom you are already disappointed. The bedroom was comfortable but very small for 2 people and the bathroom was a very tight squeeze.

« Good location but serious shortcomings »

Excellent location with good views of the waterfront. However it is very difficult to enter the hotel and go to reception when arriving with a 20 kg suitcase: no ramp is available and no staff were on hand to assist. Service standards in the breakfast restaurant were not high with staff not anticipating items running out and also helping themselves to a snack while guests were still in the restaurant.

« Fantastic hospitality but restaurant fails to please »

As an Accor Gold card member, we found we were lucky enough to be given a room upgrade, a wonderful suite on the top floor with a view of the Mersey and the famed Liver birds. But. Having decided to stay in for dinner, found the service achingly slow, had two mixed grills as mains, they arrived an hour after our starter, theyveere burnt to a crisp. It was too late to order anything else and we did not want to upset the staff as it appeared to us, they were working hard enough to please as it was, but the kitchen was letting them and the guests down. Better luck next time I hope, I'm sure this kitchen calamity was a one off, or at least I hope it was we shall be back nevertheless and often I hope but... We both feel tempted to eat out at the Albert Docks just up the road, as a result of our disappointing meal experience at the Atlantic Tower. Breakfast the following morning was very good though.

« Very enjoyable and pleasant overnight stay. »

Upgraded room with a fantastic view of the Liver building and the River Mersey. So good to have soft drinks and water in the fridge as I rarely drink tea or coffee. Lovely bed and pillows - normally have trouble sleeping in hotels no problems here. Will choose Accor Hotels in the future.

Mercure Liverpool had treated us very well by rescheduling a 3 day stay due to my wife's illness, when we arrived on Friday 31st August our room was found to be "sealed" by having no opening window, which immediately restarted my wife's condition, the receptionist was less than helpful (probably a unique situation so no blame apportioned ) and we booked out.

« Great views, small room »

Easy check in and straight up to our room, a cot had been set up for our little one but they hadn't bothered to make it up with sheets but that wasn't a big deal. Small room with twin beds rather than a double but the views were absolutely fantastic. Great base for us to explore Liverpool and especially the docks. Would definitely stay there again.

Took 45minutes to reach hotel. No directions warning about dual carriageway. Receptionist very rude. Expensive parking. Room ok but marks on chair (looked like chewing gum). Only good thing was close to Albert Dock. Would not recommend.
