Warm and friendly atmosphere throughout stay. Very helpful and polite staff who made our stay perfect with their knowledge. Room was fresh and very modern. Great breakfast available each morning with a diverse range of food on offer. Great location for us personally with Manchester city centre on the doorstep. Would definitely stay here again.

I’ve stayed there 2 years ago and I though the room and in generally the hotel was exceptionally renovated! However this time around I thought that the quality and keep up of the room was not up to the standards that I have seen before. There was mold in the bathroom and the shower drain was clogged to the point that the water was overfilling the shower and was flooding the bathroom floor. There was mold around the windows also. On the things that I liked, the breakfast always is a nice touch, standard but good range. The people working at the reception are always lovely and ready to help but it would be better to have two people at a time so if one them helps one guest the other can help the next customer to cut the waiting to check in or various enquiries time down.

« Amazing stay in impressively styled decor »

The environment was quirky and fun to be in. Felt like i was abroad and not in Manchester. staff were very friendly and helpful and the free continental breakfast was the best I've had! would stay again and no where else when i visit Manchester. My free late check out because i am a member was a big bonus as our coach wasn't leaving until 4pm check out day.

Checked in online and friendly staff greeted us, gave us room keys and took us to the lift. Got to our room (219) which was on the small size but adequate for our overnight stop. Unpacked our cloths and noticed there was no drawers etc to hold our non hangable items which I found a bit of a bad design. There was no room safe either which again in this day and age is a bit odd. Went out for the day and ended up in the Bar which was very pleasant the same Bar was the place for the continental breakfast which was a bit of a scrum with fellow guests queuing not very patiently to use the toaster/hot drinks machines etc. a bit more space would help.. The price was about 10% less than nearby Hilton Doubleday which did not include breakfast but think in future will choose the latter. .

Very quirky and nice hotel. Decor of rooms, common areas and bar/breakfast room was really nice. Breakfast good but a bit chaotic with lack of space and amount of people present. Friendly staff.

Rooms could have an extra towel each as we only had one each (difficult when washing hair etc) Also 2 pillows each would look better. Everything else was really good and I do realise its a budget hotel.

i am a regular member of ibis since last 10 years. but somehow there is a big difference in terms of customer service between ibis and ibis styles. usually reception managers are very warm and friendly in any hotels. but dont know why some of the male managers were not. i dont refer to all. they were just to the point and did not offer an extra comfort means were not very welcoming which i feel is a mandatory in any reception counters. however, they were not rude. it is just my opinion for area of improvement and found the rooms smaller and older 317 ( from 23/7 to 26/7)

« Room is small but comfortable. There was a worrying sewage smell in the corridor »

The hotel is quite funky, without the usual registration desk - a member of staff checks you in on their smartphone. Unusual artwork is everywhere - even an ice cream using the toilet in the gents - you have to see this to understand. Breakfast is rather overcrowded with lots of conflicting flows of people - it could probably be better planned. Only continental breakfast is available but it is fine and there's plenty of good coffee. The fact that the rooms are air-conditioned was welcome in the hot weather. However there was a worrying sewage smell in our corridor for some time.

Location: amazing, right in the heart of the city. Comfort: quite good, you have everything that you need. Internet access: excellent. Breakfast: reasonable, not that great, just a regular brekfast. Left luggage: it's so silly that we have to pay £1 per piece to leave luggage for a while.

Brilliant, modern, cool hotel. Great price, staff and location. Rooms are modern and new. Breakfast was plentiful and well set out. Hotel bar was as nice as anywhere else just needed to be slightly cheaper to spend more time there.

We were in room 519 but as TV was not working we were moved to room 533 and told to come and collect new room keys when we were next in reception, we had to go and get them after we had to move! Room 533 was filthy and the mattress protector was broken (we have pictures) we reported this twice - in person and on the phone to reception, but nothing was done about it throughout our stay. The air con unit was so noisy you couldn't use it whilst trying to sleep and opening the window we heard lorries, the train, road sweepers......so so noisy. The breakfast on Saturday there were no rolls and no knives, we asked twice, eventually they came out but really poor, it seemed the staff could not deal with the amount of people there. The room, there were no hand towels and no extractor in the toilet!!!! The sink had mould and the carpets were filthy. As you can appreciate it would have been nice to have had a clean quiet room (maybe because we were moved to this room it wasn't as clean as it should have been) and a breakfast that you could just go in and eat what you wanted without having to wait for a knife (this took about 10 minutes to sort!!!) We didn't bother Sunday with breakfast it was such a poor experience Saturday. On a positive the location of the hotel was excellent but we felt really let down and to be honest wanted to spend as little time in the room as possible, considering it has recently been refurbished it was tired. Also at 9am on Saturday morning the cleaners knocking our door to clean!!!! NO too early. And the walls are paper thin we heard everything from next door.
