Nice big room, bed fine but far too hot and the air con didnt do anything. Breakfast was ok but no fresh juice.

What should have been an amazing night spoiled by a flawed room.

We had booked this stay for our wedding night. Unfortunately after paying for a king suite with a courtyard view, we were unable to see any of the courtyard due to a Marquee in the middle of it. Nobody informed us of this when booking our stay. The bathroom was sizeable and well "furnished" but the jacuzzi bath didn't work and the bathroom television also didn't work. The shower had mould in. Robes were provided but were tatty and frayed, one was missing a belt which made it difficult to wear. Again disappointing given that we had purposefully booked a superior room for our once in a lifetime wedding night. .

There was a wedding on at the time of my stay. Unfortunately I was in a room overlooking the marquee. My only complaint was the loud music that went on quite late.

The room was clean and tidy although the bathroom was a little tired and could have done with re-tiling and the razor socket was damaged. Food was ok and the staff were friendly. Only real complaint was that my table was not cleaned prior to my evening meal being served.

Overall my experience staying at your hotel was good.The staff where lovely and the rooms we had was great.the only dampener on our stay was the food.we had the complimentary 3 course meal.i found the selection limitation was a hindrance as we only had a choice of 2 for each course. My niece is allergic to peppers so was unable to have the soup and does not like prawns so the starter was a bit of a miss.the main was disappointing as the curry we had was bland and tasteless.Then the deserts while the best out of the 3 was still not what I would have expected. We even ordered a pizza to the room as dinner was disappointing however even the pizza was bland and tasteless.The food is literally the only thing everything else about our stay was amazing.

Was here for a wedding in the marquee . Staff very welcoming and friendly . Reception dinner was delicious . Buffet not too bad . Rooms are massive , plenty space . Breakfast was yummy apart from the sausages . Didn't like them sausages they are not nice . Had a lovely swim in the pool , plenty bubbles in the jacuzzi and plenty heat in the sauna . Will recommend to others

Tell late night returning tourists that business residents are sleeping. (Americans 2.30am). Tell breakfast staff not to ignore tourists playing videos throughout their breakfast at high volumes and talking loudly on their mobiles cannot be ignored (Japanese).

Reception desk was friendly but the lounge bar was terrible, ignored at first then served, as I was being served the bar manager told the lad serving me to help another customer. Eventually another staff member came out and took my order. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs which was awful, 6 very dry meatballs and a bowl brimming with spaghetti and a watery sauce, also my sides were wrong but this was corrected just as I finished my meal

We got married at the Mercure Haydock on the 18th May. From the organising beforehand from Kathy to being looked after on the day by Steph, the staff were fantastic with us and nothing was too much hassle. Many of our guests have commented how nice the venue was and especially the food for both the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet. We had a great time and would recommend the venue to anybody. The only small gripe we had was that the bridal suite wasn't ready for the groom and groomsmen to get ready when we was told it would be (or the room foe the bride's mother) ,but we was given another room to use and all our belongings were moved by the staff once the suite became available.
