Visited for a conference with my daughter then stayed over for the night to make a weekend of it. Had an accessible twin room which very comfortable with plenty of space, Our only problem was a blocked drain in the shower room ,,,so flooded the whole room when having a shower and this caused an unpleasant drains smell. So a lack of maintenance there it seems. However the receptionist was very helpful. There were no spare accessible rooms left and after hours for the maintenance staff to sort the drain so she saw that the room was moped clean and dry and my daughter and I had a complimentary evening meal. The swimming pool area is very good and all on one level so good for me with a mobility problem. The breakfast was also very good with a good choice of hot and cold foods. On the whole we enjoyed our stay

Very nice room in a proper hotel for less than the cost of most budget hotels. We had some problems with towels (not sure they had been changed) and telephone (not working). I wouldn't recommend breakfast - overcooked and greasy.

I love coming to this hotel, the staff are always helpful, the room was lovely however the only let down about the king suit is that the Jacuzzi bath doesn’t work, their are no instructions on how to work the tv in the bath and the iPod station is out of date

Due to our close proximity to the M6 and Haydock Racecourse we have had to introduce this charge in order to ensure that our car park is not abused and is kept available for our guests. We do offer the car park complimentary to conference guests and anyone wishing to book direct via a corporate rate. good service, clean, good size rooms, overall a very comfortable stay. Only issue was we returned from the Rugby in St Helens at around 10.45 to find the bar closed, they did serve us drinks but where reluctant, not what you would expect from a hotel of this standard

The reception staff were excellent, as were your facilities (in principle). Your reservations clerk at the hotel (Helen) was not - though Sunil at your reservation centre was excellent. However, we were staying in your only accessible room, and the shower drain was blocked both on Friday 25th and Sunday 27th. This is unacceptably hazardous (and unhygienic) for a wheelchair-disabled person, such as my wife.

« Amazing staff made the difference »

28 family members from around the UK all came together for a family gathering at the Mercure Haydock. We had a fantastic time, the staff did so much for us-from finding us a private room to helping and providing everything we need for vegetarians, toddlers, wheelchair users, teenagers in the spa, dads wanting to watch footy and parents needing a coffee or something stronger. It was the perfect stay. Ian, Pete, Danielle and the team were fantastic.

Reception was courteous and dealt with my booking in a professional manner. My room was of a very good standard with adequate room and all amenities. Food & service in the bar area was good and well support by Kylie the hostess. Breakfast is of a very good standard.
