My key didn’t work initially so I had to come back and get it sorted. The room was dirty with hair in various places in the bathroom. There was visible old dirt on underside of soap dish in shower. The cups were not fully clean in the tea set. I’ve never stayed in a hotel room that was not cleaned properly and it was very uncomfortable to see men’s hair shavings and dark hair in the shower. The bed was comfy and a good size. The breakfast was fine but nobody greated us to check our room numbers so we just sat down. The food in the conservatory was nice and pleasant. The gym was very well equipped for a small space but all equipment was old and rusted so was a bit difficult to use smoothly. They also needed a good wipe down because you can feel the old sweat sticking to the handles on all the equipment. I would not recommend staying here due to the cleanliness of the rooms.

The hotel was busy but staff still managed to meet my expectations. The only exception was the evening meal which was nice but insuffient to fulfill y guests appetite. Poor rate for this disappointment.

Really tricky to find - drove past a few times as it is in middle of an industrial estate with very poor signage. Once there, I received a friendly greeting, but she tried to charge me for parking! I was attending an event with free parking so this was a surprise. Plus - have not experienced being charged to park at a hotel outside London before. Room was spacious, clean and comfy. A few cracked tiles in the bathroom but nothing too shabby. Was rather dismayed to find that when I chatted with other people at the event, there were marked differences in what people had paid - from £42 incl breakfast for one night to £53 without breakfast (additional £10!) for one night. People talk - be more transparent with pricing! Breakfast was ok - had to wait an age for eggs, by which time the rest of my hot breakfast was cold. There is plenty of choice ranging from traditional hot breakfast, fruit, cereals, pastries, etc. From what I can gather, there are no single or twin rooms; or at least the picture on their site depicting a twin room doesn't look as if it's two separate beds! Considering there were a number of solo travellers at the event, that's poor.

« Great stay but food could be better »

Room was clean and comfortable, reception staff friendly and very helpful. Only downside is the food in the bar which is very bland. Had the Cajun chicken burger on the first night which was dry and tasteless. On the second night the Salmon special was a lot better taste wise.

Lovely staff, very helpful, very clean rooms and bar etc, the garden,s were kept well But, the room was so hot but the fan as taken to my room ( 210 ) straight away,and bed not that comfortable. I would recomend it though.
