Fantastic hotel with amazing decor and style. When I arrived at the hotel the staff were lovely, kind, professional, very good rapport and just made me feel comfortable. The room I was allocated was bloody lovely (sorry for the brief swear word) but tha'ts the best to describe it.

Will be in Haydock monthly for next few months and this is my second stay in this hotel for work. On this occassion I had to advise reception of my disappointment as the housekeeping in my room left a lot to be desired compared to my previous stay. There was what appeared to be vomit up the wall next to the toilet which had not been cleaned, dirty towel (with obvious black make up stains) left as "clean" on the vanity, thick dust on the wall mounted tissue dispenser and coffee spilled all down the front of the unit in the room which had not been cleaned. Booked into Holiday Inn a short distance away for my trip in October as Mercure was full - potentially will be staying there going forward if the service and housekeeping are up to scratch

I was amazed that a "top" Hotel such as Mercure can,t provide restaurant service on Sundays!. I was told the bar could provide food. I asked the lad in the bar what food was available, he obviously didn,t know but his fellow barman said I think its Pizzas ! Enough said.. But the main thing that now puts me off Mercure Haydock though is "The Haydock Roundabout" .(need I say more?)

Hotel room was clean, bar staff were friendly and helpful. Nice room, if I had to pick any fault in the room it would be that the bathrooms need updating. The only other thing missing from the room was a bottle of water. I am staying again in October.

The room itself was lovely, however we had an issue with requesting certain information, no one seemed to want to issue a drink list, when I complained, I had the office manager Michaela who said she would discount the room, she did but only after clearing up some other confusion when we were charged incorrectly for the room in the first place. Given she is an office manager, her attitude on the phone was non too pleasant. When we checked in, it was her that checked us in and again her attitude was appalling, as a manager she should be setting an example. If we weren’t there for an evening reception I would have turned and gone home. Even when I hard to ring reception again her attitude was like she couldn’t be bothered with us. Shame as the staff at br Alfa’s the and behind the bar were fantastic.

Our room/s (we were given a king suite) were incredible, overall bigger than our flat! My husband loved how firm the mattress on the bed was, I wish it was slightly softer. It could also be helpful to have some sort of instructions for how to work things in the room for people who aren't so good with technology (luckily I had someone with me who was!) The staff at the hotel couldn't have been more lovely and attentive, the breakfast was delicious, we've already decided to come back for our wedding anniversary next year.

overall ok apart from the condition of the bathroom disrepair mould on fittings tiles ,tiles cracked around sink broken, bath panel with a not very nice hole in it. main mirror over sink with nasty marks on it some sort of stain from something just not I was expecting this room was Number 122 have pictures if required as it stands wouldn't visit again disappointed ?

I did have a few issues with the stay; There wasn't any hot water in the bath room. The bar was very expensive. The car park barrier wasn't working correctly and caused delays getting out on a few occasion's. At check out, I was told the printer wasn't working and could I except the receipt via email - I agreed but I may still waiting for the Receipt

Hotel and food were really good but the room was far too hot to sleep in. I asked reception for times to turn the air conditioning on but was ignored. This spoiled the stay for me as I had two very busy days that I could not focus on due to lack of sleep

stay regularly at this hotel and the stay this time was brief after arriving late but good. The one issue i had was that in room 125 (which was the last room available) the TV failed to work.
