« A wonderful stay with friendly hotel staff »

My stay was wonderful because of your great staff whom is friendly and accommodating at the premier lounge serving the customers at 6-8pm, providing excellent service at his best. Not forgetting the housekeeper at level 14 and the staffs at Royale restaurent who have contributed to the great service which makes the whole stay perfect. A feedback would be the straits poolside published on your website that drinks and snacks can be delivered over was not the same conmunicated to us when we wanted to bring drinks from the lobby bar. Overall, still a great experience and will definitely visit again.

« Our least satisfying Accor hotel experience »

Accommodation: We booked a Queen room and on arrival we were informed we had been upgraded to a 2-level Queen room with sitting room. At the time we were pleased as it sounded good for us. Once we'd settled in to the room and spent our first night we realised that the bed was in fact a small double mattress on a low base which was very difficult to get in and out of and no room to walk around. In addition, we found that having the toilet right in the sitting room to be extremely unpleasant with a total lack of any privacy whatsoever. On first impressions one might believe this room to be and "upgrade" however if you were to consider staying in the room yourself you would very soon discover that there is nothing attractive about it. We realise we could have requested another room, however as we were staying only 2 nights we didn't want the bother of packing up and moving. Breakfast: We do understand that the breakfast restaurant is a very busy place with many guests, however, our breakfast experience was very unsatisfactory. We found that in most instances the food was not being replenished or even tidied up, or that it looked "tired". Also, on both mornings there was no sliced bread available for extended periods, with several guests waiting around. Our observation was that the restaurant was seriously understaffed and poorly supervised. The layout of the buffet is ungainly, for example the toasting station, salad bar, pastries and drinks bench is right by the egg station where many people gather for both and creates a traffic jam with others unable to walk through without bumping into each other while carrying their plates. In fact after our first breakfast at your hotel we considered going around to the Ibis Bencoolen where our previous 2 stays there had been exemplary. We chose to eat again Mercure to give a second chance, and unfortunately that was a poor decision. On both of our breakfast occasions we left the restaurant very dissatisfied.

« Poor room layout »

I choose this hotel based on the location but I didn't know the room was unlike other hotel rooms. For a start the first think you see when you get to the room is the toilet, there is no closet, nowhere to put your suit case. The bed is another subject, there is no bed is just a mattress in the floor, but to reach this mattress in the floor you must first climb the stairs wich it's in itself and incombinience, not only to get there also there is no space in betwen the mattress and the sides so the only option is to climb on top of the mattress. Once up there if you need to control the lights of the room or the air conditioning you have to go downstairs because there is no controls.

The frosted glass on the bathrooms was very strange and felt like it gave very little privacy to the room. Otherwise the bed was nice (albeit small) and it was annoying that the TV turned on every time we walked in the room. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

« Wow, was way more than I expected for the price. »

Our room was excellent and the pool and guest spaces were amazing . Breakfast had many choices and wwas fresh and available till late. Toilet and shower floors (in corners ) could be cleaned a bit more. Over all exceeded our expectations.

Stayed there for 25 days. Room was great and the pool, buffet and reception area. 6 because we had to call everyday for numerous days to fill out our mini bar. Also, I lost my Apple Earpods inside the room. I already called the one who cleaned but claimed they didnt saw it. But I was pretty sure it was there. I didnt complained any further to avoid any issues with them. After that, I had trust issues in leaving my valuable things behind. It was frustrating though. Also we had to call or ask for laundry bags everyday. The hotel is great but for the service people who attends the rooms is a no-no.

I have thus spoken to our housekeeping team immediately after received your feedback and personally conducted a round of training on areas to concentrate on when cleaning a guest room, especially the bathroom and toilet. At the same time, I am glad to share with you that hotel has already in the midst of having some mock ups of adding additional additional hanging spaces in some of our guest rooms and once our team has finalized the improvement plan, we will carry out the work accordingly. As our hotel offers several types of room categories, we would highly recommend guest who stays with us over a longer duration to choose the superior category instead as the rooms are bigger as well as the closet space.
