It was amazing, staff is very helpful, the environment is very clean and comfortable and love the design and the bathtub. The bathroom is super spacious and it creates a relaxing mood. The size of bathtub is very impressive as it is the biggest bathtub for a bath which makes the bath experience comfortable and memorable.

Great location, but a few check in issues

We loved the location of the hotel. The food in the restaurant cannot be faulted. We had a few issues with our check in and our baggage going 'missing'. The situation was resolved but not until nearly 9 hours after we had checked in. We were also awoken the first night with a random phone call at about 1am in the morning. The only other thing I could say was that the wardrobe and storage in the bathroom for your toiletries was very limited. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

This is the first time staying at this hotel and we will stay again. The hotel was great. Our room was great. The bar area was very cosy and the breakfast was amazing. The Chef who cooked our eggs was so fast even though he had lots of orders. All staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful.

We stayed at this property for 2 nights after only booking for 1 night. Our first night’s accomodation in Melbourne was booked at another hotel. We had amazing customer service from Yen the night manager on our first night after unexpectedly checking in after a terrible experience at the other hotel. We checked in at 11.30 at night and Yen found an appropriate room. The hotel was immaculate and up to date. All of the staff were helpful,friendly and efficient. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning which was great. The selection of food was really nice, the staff were great and once again everything was spotlessly clean. The location of this property was also fabulous- really close to good restaurants and shopping. In all aspects I would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel staff left a message on my voicemail, while I was on the plane to Melbourne, telling me that my room was ready. When I arrived at the hotel to check in, I was told my room was not ready. I left my luggage at reception and was told it would be taken up to my room when it was ready. When I returned over an hour later, I was able to check in but on entering my room, my luggage was not there. I waited about 20 minutes, then rang down to ask about my luggage. I waited another 20 minutes, then went down to reception, where I found my luggage and took it up myself. Imagine my perturbation when I realised there was nowhere to hang my dresses, no full length mirror and very little space in the bathroom for my toiletries and cosmetics. Later that evening, I went to order room service. I turned on the TV to get information, and it said the menu was at the foot of the bed. I looked at the foot of the bed - no menu. I rang down to in-room dining, and was told to look at the tablet. I found the tablet, but couldn't do anything is it hadn't been activated. Another phone call resolved that, so I could finally order room service. In my 5 night stay, that was the only time the tablet was usable. Every other time I looked at it, the user icon was greyed out. I was so disgusted and angry, certainly not feeling like a Platinum privileged member on that first night, that I very nearly checked out, to go to another hotel. Housekeeping changed out towels and bath mats that had been hung up for re-use. I thought it very poor to have one restaurant without any gluten free options. I was also unimpressed with the gluten free options in the main restaurant. One morning, no knife was provided at the gluten free bread. Another morning, the marmalade and apricot jam labels had been switched. Lighting at the self-service tea and coffee area is very poor. It is also quite bizarre to have the hot breakfast dishes spread across such a wide area instead of all in one place. The menu for made to order breakfast meals was only present on one day. The concierge team was the only aspect of the hotel that met my expectations. Compared to the new Novotel South Brisbane, and the Novotel Brisbane, Novotel Melbourne Central comes a distant third. It is highly unlikely I will return to Novotel Melbourne Central on my next stay in Melbourne.

I generally like your hotel, have stayed every week for a few months now, have had small issues occur, but the team always go over and above to fix them. I do really dislike the 2-3 promotional flyers left on the bed though, I get the first night of the stay, but I am constantly taking it off the bed, every day. Maybe don't put them back on, or maybe just 1 flyer...it gets annoying.

This hotel ticks all boxes! Our room was "cosy" however we had ample space. The king bed and massive tv was great with the added chromecast feature. The buffet breakfast had everything you could want and food was always fresh. Location is perfect with many great eateries in the area. Definitely would stay here again!

When I came to check in I waited for 20 minutes (I timed it) as the only person on reception was dealing with a billing complaint from someone who had checked out earlier. There was no one else on the reception desk and the only person on the reception in the IBIS part was checking in a tour group. I do, however, have to commend Daniel (I think was his name) on still greeting me with poise despite the conversation and conflict he must have had while he dealt wit that complaint knowing I was standing there waiting.

Location is close to the best shopping precincts in Melbourne CBD, as well as bars and restaurants. We had been upgraded to a top floor delux king room and it was by far the best birthday surprise! Staff here are very warm and friendly. The room itself and the views from the massive windows were impressive. We could not fault it. Thanks Novotel Melbourne Central for a wonderful & lux stay.
