It is a nice hotel, but getting to the hotel is a hassle, not your hotel fault. It is the construction and road being block off from Wuyi road.

« In the future, I would only stay at this hotel if I had no other choices m. »

Area around hotel is under construction. Hard to get a cab to drive in or drop me off. Hotel staff seems very under trained and is unable to provide prompt service. So many customers waiting to get a hold of service staff. Hotel room is just bad. My room was “upgraded” but even then the room was missing a curtain and didn’t even have basic things like a nail clipper.

« Elegant clean hotel in great location »

My daughter and I had a lovely, clean spacious room in this hotel - about a 10 minute walk from the Zhongshan Park subway station on Line 2. Easy to get everywhere on the subway and safe walking around. Very nice place with helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

The building next door was being demolished throughout our stay so from early in the morning it was VERY noisy. There was no communication provided to us about this either.We found the room had all the facilities we required. The bath and shower water was luke warm. I'm not sure why. Non smoking floors still smelled of cigarette smoke. The biggest plus was the comfy beds which helped us sleep well each night.

« Not too bad »

It was not too bad, the location was perfect but the demotion was not satisfying especially the early morning noise. I was in a non-smoking on the top floor however smell of smoke was so strong. I was woken up by the noise and the smell of smoke and when I opened my door there were a group of people smoking right outside my door. The guy at reception spoke very good English and he was very helpful.

I've stayed with you more than 150 times. Your staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are pleasant and the location is great. I especially like the concierges. My only complaint is that the very convenient Starbucks and supermarket have closed, and now that horrible building site will spoil the place for three years. But I will still stay with you at least 14 nights every year! One other comment: the breakfast is poor. But thanks for all the good experiences I have had over the last twelve years.

« Good Hotel , cooperative staffs . Our cloor (14th) floor needed to be more clean »

overall good. Though the Breakfast is more Chinese than western. Normally for western breakfast give you more choice for kind of eggs ( fried , boiled , scrambled) and also more bread variety ( Chinese like rice but western people like bread more for breakfast ) . The otherthings ok.

« Spacious room and modern decor room »

As a business traveler, I booked this room according to price and location convenience. Mercure Shanghai Royalton located near Zhongshan Park station. But actually its not easy to reach even you go out from metro station. If you can find the right way in the morning....probably ok in 10min walk...If not, especially at night...can be an hour. The room itself is spacious and modern decor for what I've paid especially in Shanghai. But as if you go into more in details, it's not perfect... I'm a football fans especially during World Cup time, but the TV in room is below 30inches for such a big room...this is not the key...The key point is that its still using the antennae or analogue system in the generation that we are talking about the HD or 4K...It's really not acceptable. The Breakfast is expected low level for what we've paid (around 12USD). The gym is also small for only 2 treadmill, 1 skywalk and 1 cycling machine together with the dumbbell...that's all I would say the only good thing is the room size and decor.

Paid for room with view but no view from room. Reception staff extremely slow and inexperienced. Room was smelly, no one ever picked up service calls. Breakfast so so. No refreshments in room.

« The service is amazing »

There is 4 of us who travel together this time. Room is spacious and comfortable. Location is good, only 01 min from nearest Metro station. We experienced that all staff are friendly and helpful especially the concierge man. We met 2 concierge man who helped us alot during our stay like showed us way to go and recommended restaurants. One of them is Mr. Gary Li and the other one I forgot the name. I will definetely back to this hotel when I am back to Shanghai. Thank you for your hospitality.

I would like to give a special thanks to Receptionist - Anne Zhang 张萌萌,during my first stay in this hotel I lost my phone somewhere and when I arrived hotel she provide full assist to me and at the end I found back my phone! I tried to tips her but she resist to accept as she said this is part of her duty! On my some others stay and recent stay the service and professionalism from her was the best I experiences among all hotels I stayed before. Well Done Mercure Hotel has this excellent staff!!
