Very poor stay. After eventually finding my way to the room (this took a while due to the lack of adequate signage and maze like design of the hotel itself) I was greeted by a cramped and stale smelling room. I was unable to open the window and found the room to have practically no ventilation whatsoever. I found mould in the bathroom all around the ceiling, the bath and the shower head and in one of the draws in the room. I attempted to open the window to ventilate the room but found it was broken and as such, stuck shut. Very poor experience and will not be returning.

We had a lovely day in Reading.

The hotel is nice and the staff very friendly and helpfull. The big surprise however was the Indian Restaurant where we enjoyed an excellent meal without having to leave the hotel.

I have been a regular customer for the last 6 years. The staff have always been polite and approachable. The rooms have always been clean and make my stay a pleasing experience. On the odd occasion when I have an issue it has always been dealt with promptly by an engineer.

Terrible corridor light not great fell down stair TV not working fan not working curtains hanging of the window cleanliness could b improved stayed for two nights then moved to frier Street same stars 3 but more like a 5 compared to duke Street Reading very disappointed.

After paying nearly £300 for a 3 night stay, my expectations were quite high. However, when i arrived with my suit case there was no elevator and I had no help from the hotel staff to carry my case up 2 flights of stairs to my room. The room itself was awful, with extremely creaky floorboards, a single bed and very thin walls, meaning I could hear people walking in their rooms, speaking on the phone and watching TV. I also woke up multiple times during the night to people walking and talking in the corridors. Breakfast was okay, a small selection of cereals, pastries and juices. I would definitely not be staying here again.

This hotel is well located for a night out in Reading and is clean and comfortable. But it's cheap and you get what you pay for ... It's on a busy street and very noisy at night. There is no air con in the rooms. The car park has only about 8 spaces, so gets full up very quickly. There is no lift and the rooms are up several flights of narrow stairs. The rooms are poorly signposted and in a maze of corridors. After finally finding my room, my key card didn't work so I had to traipse all the way back to reception to get it fixed. If I'm honest, I'd probably spend a few more pounds in future and stay somewhere a bit nicer.

Unable to sleep as the room was next to the stairs and could hear people until 4am. Every door on my floor was a large old fire door and made a lot of noise. How is this hotel an ibis styles and not budget

My room was mainly satisfactory, given the age and layout of the building, and given my own dislike of the throw-away attitude that seems to pervade today's society, I find it hard to criticise the slight cracking in the sink. The cleanliness of the room was also mainly satisfactory but I was very surprised to see that the grouting between some of the tiles above the bath was mouldy - had I been staying longer I would have raised this with reception staff. The air conditioning in the room was very efficient and also easy to operate. When I switched on the TV in the morning, I was surprised that the signal on some of the TV channels was so poor, and again had I been staying longer I might have mentioned this. It was a different experience having breakfast in what is clearly an Indian Restaurant during the evenings, and had I been paying for my own stay, I might have been tempted to try the cooked breakfast, as that is often the clincher when rating my stay anywhere. However, the continental breakfast was fine - with both the sliced ham and croissants being of better quality than I have had in some other hotels. The loaf and small bagettes for slicing could perhaps have been better presented. Hotel staff were friendly and I felt that had I had any queries they would have been handled politely.

Absolutely appalled me and my friend got split up and they wouldn’t allow her access to the hotel and her phone had died. They wouldn’t bring her to my door and ask if she was staying with me. She ended up being picked up by the police and her partner having to drive 2 hours to come and pick her up. Absolutely disgusting!!!!!!!
