I couldn’t gain access to the hotel after the door was locked. No one was answering the doorbell and the mobile number posted was going straight to voicemail. After rattling the doors for several minutes someone eventually came and let me in. Not acceptable. Then in the morning I was called to be informed that I should have a shower as they were turning the water off. I was not notified of this when checking in.

« Hot and a little noisy »

I found the room to be very hot, even though it was not a particularly hot day. I had asked for a quiet room, but ended up on the 1st floor over the main road. I could hear the traffic and could not open the window due to the noise. The breakfast was poor and the coffee was awlful. I had expected more for the price of the room.

« Excellent hotel, really great good and excellent service »

This hotel is in the perfect location, great room which was clean and the bed was really great to sleep in. I ate in the restaurant and true to it's reputation it was one of the best Indians I have had so would recommend eating there. I will definitely be staying here again when I am next in Reading.

« Nice stay, clean and comfortable »

Just stayed for a night as went out with some friends. Great staff, clean and comfortable. Didn’t realise the doors got ‘hard locked’ (ie with a key) at 11pm, so we had to ring bell (no answer) and then phone night porter (no answer)...so waited a few minutes and eventually got let in...not really what you want at the end of the night. I don’t mind doors being locked for safety/security, but used to swipe card access or a code etc. A nice, central place to stay.

the hotel did not have a lift ( i stayed on the 2nd floor with a bad hip, so it was manageable) but other people may not have been able to carry their suitcases upstairs.

Everything was clean and well laid out, the parking was a bit cramped and seemed to be not very secure. However the room was nice and had all basic comforts

« Almost perfect »

Check in was smooth and the room fulfilled my requirements. All clean and comfy with great supply of coffe, tea and little sweet surprises. Unfortunately no ironing board.. Also, I had to give up on WIFI, as it kept dropping out. That was rather inconvenient to me! Also, I wasn't aware that cooked breakfast is now chargeable- used to be included! However, the breakfast was good as it was. Overall a good stay, thank you!

« A TERRIBLE PROPERTY »

We booked this property because of its good location but everything about the premises was substandard. There was no elevator. A two storey climb to our room carrying luggage was unacceptable. The hotel advertised itself as having air conditioning but our room had none... only a broken exterior window which did almost nothing to cool down the hot, stuffy room. When we decided to check out after one night, we did not appreciate the dog-and-pony show we were forced to endure waiting for someone to authorize the refund of the two nights accommodation which we were forced to prepay when we checked in. This is without a doubt the worst Ibis property which we have ever stayed at. What is most concerning though is thst Ibis would permit a loyal Le Club member to be treated so badly. Disappointed is not a strong enough word to discribe our feelings. Disgusted is a more accurate.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room decor and cleanliness was great. However, room was horrendously hot and bathroom smelt strongly of cooking from restaurant downstairs which wasn't pleasant.

« Decent budget hotel in the centre of town »

The room was comfortable and had decent facilities, decor looked worn out but for a one night stay it was fine. The continental breakfast was ok, not much selection but what was there was good.

« Ibis styles - not as stylish »

was ok, however carpets can do with a proper cleaning, and a refresh of paint in the rooms. Also ensure bedding is clean and not displaying marks...doesn't make for a comfortable stay ...happy it was only 1 night.

« Ideal for an overnight stop »

Checking in very efficient. The last staircase to room 218 was very difficult to say the least luckily we only had hand luggage. The bathroom toilet was dirty, the shower water heat was not consistent, the windows did not open - painted shut, bolt broken and brass lifters were broken. Thankfully there was a fan in the room which we kept on all night. The breakfast was excellent and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. All in all, it suited our purposes, the bedroom was a let down but as we were staying only 1 night it was OK.

My only criticism is your small sign showing where you are.I parked up 70 meters from your place ,could not find it despite asking 5 people including a local taxi driver.You should rename it according to the street or location
