« Very disappointed with quality of room. »

Wasn't impressed at all with quality of room or hotel. Wish I'd paid the £5 difference and stayed in the Ibis on Friar Street. That's what I expect from an Ibis. This one is new to the chain and frankly not worth the name. Shocking room and pics to prove. Damp patches on the wall, dirty net curtains, less then standard Ibis mattress. The worst sleep ever. And no door on the bathroom, which is strange in a twin room. No privacy at all. Extremely disappointed. Decided to stay there because it was slightly cheaper then the one in Friar Street, and because breakfast was included. Again dissapiunted in breakfast and service at breakfast. Rude staff and only continental breakfast which was bare. Will not be recommending this hotel at all. And will look elsewhere in the future. Will also leave comment on Traveladvisor as I'm sure nobody will read this.

« Stay »

After making a mistake with booking and paying for an accidental additional night, I was refused a refund, which is fairly understandable. However, what is not understandable is why there was an empty ice cream tub by my bed when I finally paid for the room I was supposed to book.

I booked 3 rooms. 1 was great. 2nd one smelled quite musty and was relocated to the attic. 3rd was dull and faced a brick wall. A bit disappointing as billed as newly reopened. Great situation near the Oracle centre.

« Absolutely awful! »

It was really bad, my shower didn't have hot water, the TV only worked on 1 channel. the floor was dirty, there was hair in the sink, I will never EVER stay in this hotel again. Shocking for a new hotel!! I didnt complain as had to go straight out when arrived and didnt get back until late but honestly, one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for a few years. Shame as I had high expectations.

« Comfortable, clean, convenient and with a nice touch of style, but weekend breakfast finished early. »

Pleasant reception, though I had to wait a bit. Nice room. Good free wifi. Breakfast was ok, but the least satisfactory part. First it finished too early for the weekend at 10:30. I arrived around 10:15, and the person tidying up was not very welcoming. I asked but there was no soya milk or other plant-based alternative to cows milk available. No welcome or particular offer on menu for vegans and vegetarians. Then at 10:30 much of the food was promptly removed, although there were several people still having breakfast. I stayed here because I wanted to try it out and there was a very good opening offer rate, but having visited I would not choose this over other local budget hotels if price was more.

The only thing I didn't like was not being able to open the window.

« Real value for money »

Once I got to the hotel, I had booked the solo room. Being mildly claustrophobic I couldn't do the small room which was really lovely with table bed, ensuite. The reception moved me to a double. Room service from the restaurant is cash only or pay downstairs with your card and that was marvelous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone

« Pleasant but noisy »

Nicely refurbed hotel, does rather smell of Indian food, but that's OK if you like that, the major drawn back is that its on the corner of two main streets and at weekends gets all the passing club traffic until the early hours.

« Too hot too noisy decor incomplete with a breakfast a pig would not eat »

First thing was the room even with the windows open it was way to hot. Because the windows had to be open all the noise of the tone kept us awake past 4 am. The breakfast is a joke some tough croissant plastic cheese and kids style boxed cereals. The room was unfinished the bath was chipped. Tv was old and you could hardly see it. I would not stay or recommend ibis styles based on my experience from this stay. This was a second stay to compensate for a poor stay before but rather than make it better just made my opinion of this hotel 100% worse

« Nice stay for Reading Festival »

Our twin room was changed to two single rooms, but at no extra cost, so no problem. Rooms were nice, however a little too hot. Good service at the front desk.

« Disappointing »

From check in I experienced a series of disappointment. The car park situation was not explained fully and had to locate a car park nearby - being told I would pay £3 for the night as opposed to £7 for the hotel car park! This was not the case - I had to pay £6.50 - disappointing! I was given the hotel room 306 - I was not asked whether I would be able to climb four sets of stairs - I am not disabled but have difficulty walking. The last two sets of stairs were not very wide - I am a broad person and found it difficult to climb these stairs! Disappointing! I located my room which was in the attic area of the hotel! Why was I given this hotel room when there were younger more able persons checking in in the queue - if I had been an older person would I have been allocated this room? No people skills! Disappointing! The room was clean however the door to the bathroom was a thin door and I had difficulty getting through it! The water pressure in the bathroom was non-existent! I ran the taps on the hand basin and the water dribbled out! Enough to wash my hands. I ran the shower - hardly any water came out - no pressure?! Disappointing! I had to leave the hotel then as I was late for a meeting. On return it was very late and had to locate the room in your maze of a hotel! Following morning went to have breakfast. Was asked my room number but nothing else was explained? I was not shown to a table either, the staff just walked away? I sat at a nearby table and helped myself to the continental breakfast available - as I was preparing to leave I noticed some people in the room had full English breakfasts - I looked for information and found a small sign on a table that stated a cooked breakfast was available at a surcharge - again no staff available to make enquiries? I had not stayed at your hotel before and would not stay there again - disappointing! I checked out of the hotel and told my grievances to your receptionist - was told if I stayed there again to ask for a lower floor room?! Disappointing! No people skills! What a disappointment!

« Single room was very poor »

The single room was probably a conversion of the roof space. It was stiflingly hot; the bed was built on the bulkhead of the stairs and so was like a kid's cabin bed; the shower barely had enough power to wash shampoo out of my hair and the floorboards creaked with every single movement. Apart from that......
