We have a Very nice stay at Ibis Caning Town. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I like also the style of mobile reception concept. The hotel is close to the bus, DLR and underground stations, therefore very easy to access public transport.

The hotel has a vet young feel to it. The check in process by smartphone is very smooth and efficient. Our room had a view of London downtown (room 602). You are conveniently located next to the underground and DLR stations that give you direct access to the city.

In London for work, The hotel is new, close to tube which takes you into central London in under 20mins. The breakfast was good apart from being luke warm. Also need some trays for put plates on. The tables are not close to the serving area & you end up walking backwards & forwards to get your breakfast. I have stayed at other ibis hotels, the styles hotels use trays. Would stay again, but price has gone up.

« Good hotel, with very friendly staff in super location »

The hotel is still very new and fresh. Staff are very friendly from check-in to check-out and everything in between. Nice rooms, good shower, good bed (only pillows are far to hard and no choice of type). Breakfast was freshly cooked and good choice. Underground and DLR Canning Town just on the doorstep, ideal for exploring London!

Dear All, overall the stay was good but a couple of things have to be more "trained" in the future. We knew that we are going into a new hotel with a new team that might need some experience. First impression is good. But the information sheet in the room was showing that we are able to order some food until the bar is closing. at 22:50 we had look to get some pizza before the kitchen was closing - other food was not served. so please update your information sheets. huge bottles of water - have been sold out for the night. Breakfast was good and enough but why does it take 30 minute to refill the orange juice? we asked for some and this was the reply. The refill of the breakfast buffet at our stay was always a bit tricky. The room was good but the air condition was set on 29 degrees at arrival - why? Two towels are not sufficient - please take care that at least one small towel is available for hands and not only the big shower towels. Overall we would recommend this hotel and would believe that this is just due to lack of experience. Your staff has been very friendly and help orientated.

At Ibis, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. We usually do serve food until the bar closes however, we did not have a chef available that evening so there was a shortage of staff and as a result we were only able to serve pizzas. Apologies. I am sorry for the delay of the breakfast buffet as well, and we will make sure to have bottles of water available at all times. We will ensure that this does not happen again. Apologies about the air conditioner as well. We will also look into your suggestion about the towels in the rooms. We spent four nights in this brand new hotel and were very satisfied with the hospitality and the friendliness of the staff. We liked the rooms and the breakfast buffet (although the highly praised sausages might be overrated ;). The rooms are okay and everything worked properly. The hotel (as already stated in other reviews) has no formal reception or restaurant. The common areas of the hotel seem to be designed like a giant flat share - I believe that the imitation of kitchen / dining room / living room facilities aims to achieve a "like home" feeling... but I'm not sure if I really like this concept because other guests during our stay actually showed up for breakfast in pyjamas or short pants and flip flops... to my mind this was too much "home" feeling. Unfortunately there was also an unpleasant incident during our stay in ibis Canning Town. Our daughter was startled awake in the middle of the night and frightened to death by persevering knocking and shouting at her door. Stupidly she finally decided to open... and got the door hit in her face, followed by a simple "oops sorry" :( Thanks to the reception team the person could be identified and called to account. Yet we received a refund for this night even though the hotel was not a scrap responsible for this violation. Once more cudos to the reception team/management and thank you very much for your assistance in this weird situation :)) We will definitely book this hotel again in case of future London visits.

« Amazing & well located Ibis hotel »

I have stayed in many different Ibis hotels in the Docklands area, so when this at Canning Town was about to open I decided to book this one for it is next to Canning Town station, so no change of DLR trains necessary. I visited this hotel with my mum for 9 nights to spend the holidays in London. I was suprised about the new look & feel in particular with the deskless reception. It gave a very hously & informal atmosphere which I find pleasant but might be less attractive to others. The rooms were the standard high Ibis quality, although the bathrooms were far better finished than other Ibis hotels in the area (not just because it was new, but the design and utilities used as well). The rooms are quite good isolated, although the doors sometimes rattle when other doors in the corridor are being closed. The breakfast buffet is quite extensive and nutritious, with quite good coffee. What I loved most about the bar area is you can choose your own music to be added to the hotel playlist through a tablet on the bar! Apart from that the bar itself offers primarily pizza's to eat so that was a bit of a let down, but there's a highstreet around the corner so it is easy to find something else to eat. Last but not least, apart from the informal atmosphere the staff were very kind, helpful and friendly. They really did try to make you feel as comfortable as possible away from home. + Quality finished rooms + Located opposite Canning Town station: Central London < 15min + High street around the corner (Barking Road) + Safe luggage storage + Wireless charging possibilities in the bar area + Change the music in the bar area to your own taste - Bit one-sided food offers at the bar - Rattling doors when others closed (probably due to the outer sound isolation method) - On peak times hard to find place to sit for breakfast

« Generally good, but some staff need more training. »

New hotel, so the decor is fresh and to my liking. However, you can tell it is a new hotel as the staff aren't fully up to speed. Three examples: - At the bar when I wanted to pay with cash was told that they could only accept exact money as they didn't have change. This was corrected by another member of staff who happened to be passing who told the first member of staff where the change was kept. - At breakfast there was a repeat of this - was told that they could only accept exact cash payment or payment by card. - At breakfast I enquired about the sign offering gluten free bread on request. Staff didn't know about this so went to kitchen to ask. Came back and said they'd look for it. Came back 10 minutes later after a fruitless search of freezer. This means that there either wasn't any gluten free bread or the staff do not know where things are stored in the freezer - neither is good.

It was great! I was impressed that it was actually as quiet as the claims made on the website, other than when a few loud closing doors. The staff is excellent, and the hash browns at breakfast were wonderful. One suggestion would be to alert patrons about the closing of the restaurant on the FB page, booking pages and website, as I had no idea it would be closed, and checked in at night, only to be told that the chef was off duty.
