The hotel is stunning and the cleaning staff really made my stay at Mercure Pigalle worthwhile due to their attentiveness and hard work - I really appreciated the efforts. Initially, I was glad to stay at this hotel as I was celebrating my boyfriend's birthday and my very first visit to Paris, but my experience was hindered considerably by the night-time concierge by the name of Mohammed. He was very rude, disrespectful to myself and my boyfriend on a few occasions. Due to this being a worldwide acclaimed hotel chain, I was shocked that I was not able to get access to a supposed 4-star hotel. I was stuck outside of the hotel for 15/20mins around 3:30 am as the concierge was away from his desk. After ringing the bell continuously and banging on the door whilst being drenched by heavy rain, Mohammed finally opened the door without an apology and shrugged his shoulders when I asked where he was. He claimed he was at the desk and insisted that I did not ring or bang on the door - despite my shivering and dishevelled appearance. A few hours later while he was still on duty, I went downstairs to the front desk and asked him whether I would be stuck outside again for the rest of my trip and asked to speak to his manager. He answered back very sarcastically and spoke to me in a very condescending manner. This made me feel very disrespected and is not what I usually encounter whenever I visit hotels. Due to being stuck outside beaten by heavy rain, I fell ill and this ruined my first trip to Paris and made me regret staying at this hotel and I will not be returning again. I strongly urge management to reinstate basic customer service to your night-time concierge Mohammed as he is very unfriendly, disrespectful and extremely asinine in the way he conducts himself.

« I wasted 7 hours of my time just get my €50 down payment released. »

My girlfriend and I recently got back from a two month trip to Europe. We stayed in approximately twenty different Accor hotels with a lovely experience in almost every one. When we arrived at the Mercure Paris 9 Pigalle Sacre-Couer there were two staff at the desk that were folding papers (most likely bills). They had just finished serving two people who were checking in but as we approached the desk they both didn't look at us. When I inquired if we could check in, one of the staff members, a man by the name of Abel abruptly told us to wait while they both finished folding the papers. Abel checked us in and towards the end of the check in he stated that I would need to provide credit card details. I asked Abel if my card would be charged anything to which he answered no (I asked this because I still needed to add funds on my card). The card declined. Abel handed me back my card saying that I had no funds. To ensure that we didn't waste any time I asked if we could pay in cash to which Abel responded that we had to pay on card. So I put the €50 on my card. Throughout our entire stay at the Mercure Paris 9 Pigalle Sacre-Couer Abel seemed disinterested in anything that we had to say, often looking in the other direction when we went to talk to him. Once we checked out Abel informed us that the money should be returned on my card within a matter of days. As we continued our journey around Europe I noticed that the money was still pending in my account. I hadn't had this issue with any of the other hotels so I decided to call the hotel after one week. I spoke to Abel on the phone and he told me in a very condescending tone that I should wait at least ten days before I dispute a transaction. I was away from home so I had to wait until I was back in Australia to contact my bank due to my different Sim card. After 20 days the money had still not been released so I checked in with my bank who told me that Mercure Paris 9 Pigalle Sacre-Couer had not properly released my money. I asked my bank what I could do to fix this and they sent me clear instructions so that I could receive my pending funds. The instructions had to be read and filled out by the staff at the hotel so I sent the staff of Mercure Paris 9 Pigalle Sacre-Couer an email with the instructions attached. I also called up the hotel to ensure that they understood the instructions. The staff then sent the email to the wrong address followed by sending it without the right attached documents. I had to call both the bank and the hotel over 3x to fix this simple issue. Each time I would ask if the staff understood and each time they confirmed that they did understand; and yet, they still created more issues for me that I had to fix in order to receive my money. I spent over 7 hours of my time trying to fix this issue which could have been fixed if any member of staff at the hotel had simply followed my instructions. At one point a staff member refused to follow the details I was given directly from the bank because it didn't match their transaction number. Once again, I had to resolve this issue by calling the hotel on the phone to explain that I just wanted my money released. After much frustration with no avail, my money was finally released after 4 weeks. When I explained how dissatisfied I was with the unprofessionalism and lack of service to the manager of the hotel, she simply stated that she disagreed with me and for me to prove it. I have never been this poorly treated at a hotel in my whole life. I am a long standing customer and to date I have stayed at over 25 Accor hotels ranging from 1-5 stars. But never have I felt so exhausted, ignored and frustrated with a group of hotel staff. I have recommended Accor to all of my friends and family for three reasons: your outstanding service, your polite staff and fantastic locations. I only received one of those during my visit to Paris. Rest assured, I will be telling everyone to stear clear of the Mercure Paris 9 Pigalle Sacre-Couer.

Hi. I stayed at Mercure Pigalle, 25th-27th jan for my 33rd birthday. Hotel was lovely, clean and great location. On the evening of 25th/26th at 1230am (in the morning!) reception of the hotel rang the room phone and asked my name, then my full name, then if I had checked in etc etc. It was 1230 in the middle of the night, I was not impressed whatsoever!!! They continued to ask me questions and I hung up in anger as it was the middle of the night. What hotel rings it’s guests in the middle of the night? I then could not get back to sleep at all. and the day of the 26th jan (my birthday) was ruined as I was too tired to site visit. It ruined my birthday!!! And I feel so upset about this. We are very sorry to hear that you encountered a problem with the functioning of the heating of your room; indeed, the whole hotel has been totally renovated about 2 years ago and accordingly, the heating devices are new. You should never hesitate to contact the reception and ask, for we have somebody at front desk 24 hours, ready and willing to help you and answer your requests. In this case maybe it was a problem of programming: when one tries and regulates the temperature, it may be programmed without one wanting so, to start later on... this happens once and again. We also noticed that you did not appreciate the bedding; our firm bedding is usually appreciated by our guests, but for the persons who prefer a softer comfort, we have toppers available on request, at front desk also. So we really hope that another stay in Paris, will be the occasion for us to make our utmost, and satisfy you. We wish you a nice week-end, regards, Véronique

Lovely room, good location. Bathroom could do with a slight renovation as the door was falling apart a bit at the bottom. Only downside is housekeeping woke us up twice before 9am by shouting and banging on the door even though the do not disturb sign was on the door.

Veronique was amazing, really lovely and helpful, the rest of the staff, apart from Mohamed, shouldn't be in customer service roles. One couldn't even be bothered to help with our key which wasn't working and out his hand up in my face as I told him the key wasn't working. Also booked a superior room and I'm not sure we were given one.

Very convenient location. Although the room size is alittle small, it was a confortable stay. The only downside was the bathroom. The design of the shower area is not very practical. It does not contain water and the bathroom gets flooded everytime someone showers.

Location was good, service was not. Felt scrutinized when asking for one extra bath towel and toilet paper (had not been refilled by housekeeping). Room was clean and good-sized, although the shower leaked significantly at the doorway.

I was expecting a better treatment but it’s not, first upon checkin was asked for my card I thought it’s to verify the payment I did but I wasn’t explained about anything I got charged and I asked the night what’s it about. I even requested to have a socket plug ahead of time I wasn’t informed that they will not provide me . I came back and forth in Paris after 2 days I got plugs from 3 star hotel . So why can’t this hotel provide one for me. I was asked to buy my own and the guy isn’t even helpful and is rude. We’re 3 and slipper is only 2 and water is only one . Since we’re on privileged room next day I noticed I got free drinks but they didn’t refill it. Only refill once . Stayed 4 days 3 nights . Didn’t even clean the room properly. Paper isn’t proper it’s like it’s being played all crumpled . But breakfast wise sahid is very nice . But the other lady isn’t n doesn’t refill properly n isn’t as neat n clean. Reception isn’t really very friendly n nice and informative they don’t explain not even breakfast we need to check. Upon check out I was even asked to pay for the balance I got shocked I said it’s all included so why asking me then later I was told in her system it showed I need to pay then it’s the lady’s fault . I hope you verify first n double check before you ask customer about it. And I didn’t know the place is a red light district . Not suitable for ppl traveling with kids . . If I was asked if I will stay here again I won’t. First the hotel is tooo small too narrow doesn’t look like 4 star . If I only know about this I would have just got the 3 star I stayed before. When u ask the reception they know nothing it’s like they are not from the country. I even asked if they can make our stay memorable as were celebrating the birthday of my partner but nothing . I expect something since I got one from other hotel . I was thinking of surprising my partner but it’s me who got surprised. Not worth the money .
