Great except for the dining which was expensive and the choice very limited which did not change. Had an issue extending our stay by a day as the person on the desk got my request completely wrong, english is my only language.

The Worst Accor Hotel I have stayed at!

Reception staff and bar staff were great - that's where the good experience ended! Hotel is old, rooms are old, lights did not work properly in the room, the iron is attached to the wall and something I would expect in a hotel 20 years ago, the breakfast service was less than average (although the actual cooked breakfast itself was nice). The hotel is unsecure - the front door is locked at night but there is no card/key access - you just enter through the un-locked/open door from the car park area.

Great room, everything we needed and very clean. Also nice & new. However it's on a very noisy road, we had an interrupted sleep.

No cloak room for luggage while awaiting room. (I know we were very early before 2:00 check in, ) Receptionist failed to ring us when room was ready, after promising to do so. I had to ring them. Lift out of action. But another lovely young girl helped carry our luggage to our 'superior' room which unfortunately had no view and was out at the car park. We felt like dogs being put out in the back yard. Not pleasant. Water in the shower took long time to heat. Water waste. And hard to keep constant te,oerature. No heat lights to warm the bathroom and floor tiles were freezing. Ironing board assembled incorrectly and collapsed when pressed on. Husband fixed. 4tiny pods of milk enough for only 2 cups coffee/tea.

Dear Sandra, Thank you for providing us with feedback from your recent stay with us at Mercure Launceston, firstly I apologize that there were aspects of your stay with us that did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately at this point in time the hotel does not have a designated luggage store, this is something that management is currently reviewing to see what spaces can be converted for that use. The area in reception is monitored at all times, by CCTV and also staff, even though there is no designated store area at this point in time, the reception is very secure in the sense that it is monitored and manned at all times and we were pleased to be able to provide this small convenience to assist with your early arrival. I apologize that the lift was out of order when you arrived, it was being serviced, it was lovely to hear however that Isabella was able to assist you with your luggage. We will ensure that the issue relating to the ironing board is addressed with housekeeping and that it is replaced, we will also address the issue in relation to you not receiving a call when the room was ready as advised, front office should have followed this up and we will ensure that moving forward they follow procedure. We are delighted however that we were able to provide access to the room early at 1pm before our check in time of 2pm. We will also have a discussion with the maintenance team in relation to the hot water to see what measures can be put in place to regulate it. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback Sandra, it is greatly appreciated and it allows us the opportunity to continually improve on our product and service. A nice hotel to stay at. I arrived early and had to wait in the bar area until my room was ready. Staff never told me when my room was ready. Only when I went to reception and asked they said yes your room is ready. Not sure how long it had been ready. I would have appreciated being told when it was ready. Not sure why they charge for water. This is normally complimentary in most hotels. Apart from that I was happy with the hotel. It's well located with an easy stroll to the center of town or to the Gorge. Service and Staff were pleasant.

I have stayed at Mercure Launceston a few times before but have always been in one of the rooms out the back. I was in one of the inside rooms this time and it was beautifully decorated and comfortable with a lovely big window. All small issue we had is we couldn’t work out how to turn the main light on? Only the bathroom light and bedside lights. Perhaps the switch was just broken. As it was very late at night we did not bother asking the front desk who I’m sure could have assisted.
